Lauren Conrad’s Diet Tips — How She Gets Bikini Ready

Lauren looks amazing in a bikini so she shared her top tips with HollywoodLifers as Malibu and Lauren introduced the brighter side of spiced with the all new Malibu Island Spiced rum in New York on May 7.

“I am not an excellent dieter to be honest,” Lauren laughed to us. “Whenever I go onto a diet, I end up eating worse then what I did before. If you tell me that I can’t have it, then that is all I want! So I think the important thing is to have a balance, make healthier choices. But not depriving yourself of everything. If you are at a party with friends or entertaining, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a drink, just pick a smarter option. If you are having dinner, maybe take the bun off your turkey burger or order a salad. I think it is small choices that works for me.”

We were obsessed with Lauren’s accidentally dyed hair while she was in India, so we asked her if she would do it again!

“I have done it on purpose a couple times to be honest, I think that was the third time that my hair was pink. So yes! I actually have pink dye in my shower, so every once in a while I will add it to my shampoo and my hair will be light pink for a couple days. I really like having light pink hair!”

Lauren Conrad Spills On Her Beauty Icons

As far as Lauren’s beauty icons, she definitely takes inspiration from the past!

“Whenever I am with my makeup artist and we are trying to think of things to try, I tend to pull up old photos. I never look at stuff from a carpet from the last decade. I think I like the timeless beauty and the classic looks, so it usually is someone from Hollywood from 40 or 50 years ago!”

Lauren’s down-to-earth personality allows for her elegant beauty to be shown in just about everything she does. While hanging out with her talented stylist and The Beauty Department co-creator on April 23, the two created a pretty braid in the 26-year-old’s smooth, blonde locks.

“I’ve come undone… @kristin_ess,” said Lauren’s photo caption as she credited her talented friend for the hair creation.

Just an hour before Lauren posted the undone braid, Kristin took to her Instagram account to show off the brilliant hairstyle consiting of twists, braids, and even a couple of tiny, messy buns.

“I don’t really know what to call it but I like it. #braidponytailbuntwistthing,” Kristin said.

We’re unsure of exactly what these fashionistas were trying to create but whatever it is, it look absolutely amazing on Lauren!

Lauren first tweeted on March 27, “Happy Holi!” with a photo of her face and hair covered in pink powder.

A few hours later, she tweeted another pic of her clean, pink hair: “So apparently it doesn’t wash out… Looks like I’m sporting pink locks for the rest of this trip.”

But LC might be seeing pink for longer than her vacation!

We tried everything but the best way was to just use your purple shampoo for blonde hair and keep it in for a couple of minutes every wash. It took me a week but I ended up loving the pink (it happened just before pink hair became a craze). Happy Holi!”

Kristin Cavallari, 26, was wearing a black dress designed by no other than Lauren Conrad, 27, for a Splash Chicago magazine shoot. The Hills star rocked the dress with one of her own designs, too! Who knew Kristin and Lauren could work so well together?

The two stars may not be the best of friends, but new mom Kristin looked lovely flaunting a frock from Lauren’s Paper Crown collection. The strapless dress has a sultry sweetheart bodice and a full tiered tulle bottom which gives off a fun and flirty vibe. The detailing down the middle of the bodice only enhances the ensemble’s elegant design. The dress looked striking on the new mom and definitely showed off her very toned legs. The layered bottom matched perfectly with Kristin’s curly tresses and red lip.

The star tells Lucky the style advice that changes her life:  “I can’t remember who told me this, but it was ‘Get your clothes tailored.’ Like most people, I used to wear clothing off the rack. But having them fitted to me makes a really big difference, especially with pieces like a cocktail dress. Little nips and tucks can take 10 pounds off you.”

Her fashion regrets: “I try to never look back at how I dressed in the first few seasons of Laguna Beach because it was pretty bad … head-to-toe bad. This past summer, MTV replayed every episode and I would always see it and be like, Ahh, noo! I wore these capri denim pants a lot and they were so bad.”

Now a bona fide fashion fixture, the star says reality tv hurt her reputation: “The TV show did not help my reputation very much. It was difficult to be taken seriously. But I think the fact that I went to school to study fashion and worked in the industry helped me. I think it’s a good thing to feel like you have to prove something, because you’re always going to have to work a little bit harder.”
