Kim Kardashian returned home to NYC on Oct. 17 after a mother-daughter trip with Kris Jenner to Dubai. But within hours of being home in NYC, Kim headed out to the Angel Ball 2011, hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, with her good friend La La Vazquez and left her hubby Kris Humphries at home!

“It was girls night!” Kim’s rep tells HollywoodLife.com. “She went with La La. They left Kris and Carmelo [Anthony -- La La's husband] home!”

“Heading to The Angel Ball with @lala!” Kim tweeted on Oct. 17. “Its an event for cancer research, can’t wait to share my story tonight & honor my dad!”

Kim also met up with her buddies Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck at the gala.

In just a few days, Kim leaves again to travel to Australia without Kris, according to Life & Style magazine. She will also be in Los Angeles sometime next week to support her brother Rob Kardashian on Dancing with the Stars.

“I just realized I will be home next week to see my brother dance!” Kim shared. “I just got sooo excited!”

While it’s exciting to be getting to travel all around the world, Kim’s a newlywed. She doesn’t seem to be spending that much time with Kris. Is Kim mad that Kris was out partying while she was away in Dubai?

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries still seem to be in the honeymoon phase of their marriage. On Sunday, Oct. 9 the couple had a hot night out on the town as went to watch their good friend La La Vazquez star in her new Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, And What I Wore in NYC.

“They were cuddling during the show,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “Kris had his arm around Kim for most of it.”

Kim and Kris showed up to support La La in her new starring role. “They came early to say hi to La La since they had to rush out after the show,” says the source.

And the show seemed to be a hit with the couple. “They loved it,” reveals the source. “It’s a pretty girly show, but even Kris was laughing at parts!”

La La tells HollyBaby.com exclusively that ‘it’s kind of crazy’ how competitive schools are in NYC. ‘I interviewed tons of schools,’ she admits!

In New York City it’s no secret that it’s very hard to get children into highly sought after private schools. Parents fight to get into the likes of Horace Mann, Collegiate School and The Buckley School years before their kids are even at the age to attend. VH1′s La La’s Full Court Life star La La Vazquez knows this better than anybody. She tells HollyBaby.com exclusively that she had a tough time selecting to where to send her 4-year-old son Kiyan!

“It is kind of crazy but I interviewed tons of schools,” La La, 32, admitted to us on Oct. 1 at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. “I picked the one I thought was best. You just have to be a parent and get out there and talk to the schools, talk to the teachers, really decide what you want for your child and I think I found a good fit.”

La La, her 27-year-old basketball hubby Carmelo Anthony and little Kiyan moved to NYC in the Spring of 2011 after Carmelo was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks. Since then, La La’s been trying to get used to her raising her son in NYC.

“It’s hard in the city because there’s not a lot of just grassy areas to just let him run around and play,” she explained. “But you find your cool spots. Central Park is awesome. Children’s museums, museum of natural history — you find cool places for him to have a good time and he’s starting school now so he’s occupied there as well.”

Aww! Well best of luck to little Kiyan as he begins his studies in NYC!

Until La La Vazquez & Carmelo Anthony move to New York City — which I promise is inevitable — the angst over where the couple will land if Carmelo is traded from the Denver Nuggets seems too melodramatic.

It’s a busy time for our girl La La. She’s worrying about hosting the pre-show for the Critics Choice Awards, fighting off rumors that she’s to blame for Carmelo’s desire to play elsewhere and planning a 30th birthday party for her BFF Kelly Rowland.

La La takes Kelly to a gun range — Is this a thing I’m not aware of? My mom just started doing this with her friends — and then to get her first tattoo.

An amusing exchange happens when Serena Williams crashes the parlor and asks Kelly why she chose to get ‘Masterpiece’ inked on her body.

“It’s Scripture. God looks at us all as masterpieces,” Kelly answers.

“What about Leviticus … about not tattooing your body?” Serena quips back. Point, Serena.

Later on, La La gets a quick dose of reality as far as her career goes — she needs to focus more on acting. But she admits that she’s distracted by the trade rumors. La La, you have your own career to worry about. Let Carmelo and the owners and general managers deal with the trades.

After a heart to heart with her friend Po, La La worries that she’s the villain in Denver — everyone thinks she’s the reason Carmelo wants to leave Denver.

But like I’ve said, we know how this ends. The real drama begins when there’s only 9 minutes left before she has to appear on the red carpet for the Critic’s Choice Awards and still doesn’t have a dress to wear — it’s stuck in traffic!

Fortunately, the dress arrives and La La kills it as the pre-show host. (Much better than Selena Gomez did at the MTV VMAs, in my opinion.)

Afterward came my favorite moment of the night — Carmelo sends his wife a photo that he took of her on TV. We only heard his voice in this episode — but the couple really is adorable and it’s nice to see in the land of reality television.

La La Vazquez‘s Full Court Wedding has turned into her Full Court Life. On this season of her new show, we’ll watch as she learns exactly what it means to be a basketball wife, although one with her own series who doesn’t have to share the spotlight.

When we last saw La La, she and Carmelo Anthony married in a lavish ceremony that rivaled Kim Kardashian‘s. (She even waltzed down the aisle in a beautiful Vera Wang gown, just like her BFF.)

According La La, the newlyweds are happy in Colorado — where Carmelo plays for the Denver Nuggets. (Anyone who pays any kind of attention to basketball, though, knows that he soon gets traded to New York City.)

However, at this moment where the show begins, the couple is dealing with the realities that Carmelo may soon be wearing a different jersey and she brings her friends to what she says may be his last game as a Nugget! (As a diehard bball fan, and someone who has followed Carmelo closely throughout his career, it’s hard not feel a little bit bored with these revelations, since I know exactly where this is going. Although, that may be the problem with any reality show these days — the media/paparazzi machine has made it impossible to be surprised by anything that happens.)

After the game, the group heads out to celebrate the win — and talks about the next night, where the girls will take on the boys in a friendly game of bowling. The stakes? The losing team has to designate one person to strip naked!

It’s La La, Kelly Rowland and Po versus Carmelo and his friends — and the girls end up losing, leaving Po to run naked through the snow.

Dutifully, Po strips down to her panties and bares (almost) all of herself, while being pelted with snowballs on the streets of Denver.

But that’s just the beginning. Are rumors starting that Carmelo had a lovechild with another woman? “I don’t know if I would still be here right now if it was a secret baby,” La La vaguely answers.

Has La La made the right decision to be with Carmelo and move to New York with him? “Dating an athlete is a tough thing to do,” she admits. “I want to be a wife, [but] I don’t want to give up my dreams and my career.”

And could La La be having another baby? She’s throwing up for some reason!
