Kerri Dalton, 29, was shopping in a New Jersey Bed Bath & Beyond when she was allegedly attacked by Tyrik Haynes, 19. The teenager reportedly stabbed Kerri more than a dozen times, puncturing both of her lungs.

Tyrik is accused of attacking the mom at 4 p.m. on Jan. 17 at a Middletown, N.J. Bed Bath & Beyond. After she was attacked, Kerri was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she fortunately remained in stable condition.

Kerri had her baby girl Anna Lynne, 5 months, in the store with her, but she was not harmed in the attack.

Kerri Dalton’s Family Speaks Out About The Attack

“She just felt, like, pricks at her neck, like someone would tap your shoulder,” her brother-in-law Charles Dalton told the New York Post. ”She didn’t realize she was getting stabbed at first.”

Kerri’s husband, Roger Dalton, told CBS on Jan. 19 that she is doing well.

“She’s holding up, she’s strong, she’s a fighter, she’s my best friend,” Roger said. “I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”

“She’s a newborn mother; thank God the baby wasn’t touched,” he added. “This guy came out of nowhere and I love my wife.”

Tyrik Haynes Arrested & Charged With Attempted Murder

Tyrik was arrested soon after the crime, and during his first court appearance on Jan. 18, was charged with attempted murder, child endangerment, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Tyrik is no stranger to the law — in December, he was charged with animal cruelty for setting a cat on fire on Christmas Eve….Why wasn’t this guy sent to jail in the first place?

We’re happy that Kerri is in stable condition, and wish her a safe and speedy recovery.
