Keith Olbermann was hired by Current TV to breathe new life into the struggling network last year, and in a shocking move March 30, was terminated from his contract and replaced by former New York governor Eliot L. Spitzer!

The outraged political commentator lashed out on Twitter after learning the news, claiming that Current TV was in the wrong and didn’t have the right to fire him from his five year deal.

“The claims against me in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently,” Keith — who famously didn’t get along with his bosses, Al Gore and Joel Hyatt — wrote.

He wasn’t given a chance to even say goodbye to his viewers, as Eliot took over the show today.

After Keith referred to Bristol as the ‘worst person in the world’ for promoting safe sex & abstinence, she fought back on Facebook!

Bristol Palin is coming out swinging against ardent Democrat, and MSNBC commentator, Keith Olbermann! The daughter of former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin responded to Keith’s recent comments in which he compared her to President George W. Bush., dubbing her his “Worst Person In The World” for his nightly segment. In Bristol’s response, she called Keith “unoriginal” and said that if he had a daughter, maybe he’d actually understand why she was promoting abstinence and safe sex. Good thing Keith isn’t in the running to compete against her dad Todd Palin on Dancing with the Stars next season!

Here’s Bristol’s entire letter to Keith:

“Recently, a left wing commentator named Keith Olbermann attacked me for being a spokesperson for abstinence education and for being an Ambassador for the Candies Foundation, which promotes teen pregnancy awareness and prevention education. He went so far as to call me ‘the worst person’ he knows, apparently, for my efforts to educate teenagers about the real world risks of premarital sex.

Accusing me of hypocrisy is by now, an old canard. What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.

I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the ‘worst person in the world’ to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.

To Mr. Olbermann let me say this: you can attack me all you want. But you will not stop me from getting my message out about teen pregnancy prevention. And one day, if you ever have a daughter, you may change your mind about me.”
