Lindsay Lohan may not have been too pleased at the news that her father, Michael Lohan, had gotten his fiancée — and her former best friend! — Kate Major pregnant, but hopefully news that she now had a little half-brother will turn her feelings around!

Kate went into labor at a Florida hospital, where she gave birth to a son named Landon Major Lohan on 11:39 a.m. PST, TMZ reports. Landon weighed in at 19 3/4 inches, seven lbs. five oz. The website reports that Michael was by Kate’s side the entire time, even cutting the umbilical cord.

A rep for the family tells TMZ that Landon, Michael, and Kate are all “doing great”.

Lindsay Lohan’s Reaction To The Pregnancy

When news of Kate’s pregnancy broke back in July of 2012, a source close to Lindsay told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that the actress was blindsided when she found out and felt the situation was “awful and disgusting.”

The source also says Lindsay probably “feels bad for the child, knowing her dad and her once best friend, Kate Major.”

Lindsay’s Ongoing Legal Troubles

While Michael was welcoming his youngest child into the world, his eldest was sweating it out in a Los Angeles courtroom, hoping to avoid jail. Lindsay arrived late to her hearing, where she had to appear to set a trial date for her misdemeanor charges stemming from her car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway. Her new court date is set for March 18, 2013, and she must show up.

When Lindsay appears in court next, she must begin to defend her not guilty plea against her charges of lying to police, reckless driving, and obstructing officers from performing their duties.

Lindsay Lohan, 26, and her father, Michael Lohan, have had a tumultuous relationship in the past — now Michael is adding fuel to the fire, because Lindsay’s ex-friend, Kate Major, is pregnant with his child!

“She feels bad,” the source reveals exclusively to Hollywoodlife.com. Lindsay was blindsided when she found out that her father is expecting a child with Kate and thinks the situation is “awful and disgusting.”

The source also says Lindsay probably “feels bad for the child, knowing her dad and her once best friend, Kate Major.”

Her father and Kate, who are currently exes, have had a rocky relationship in the past, including abuse allegations and a restraining order. It doesn’t sound like they are the prime candidates to be parents together.

Michael Lohan landed himself behind bars Oct. 27 after on-again, off-again girlfriend Kate Major called the police, claiming he was trying to contact her and wouldn’t leave her alone. TMZ reports that when police arrived at Michael’s Tampa, Fla., hotel to arrest him, he jumped from his third-story balcony… and landed in a tree!

Kate released the following statement to the site:

“[Michael] has no regard for the justice system. He can beat up women, but Mr. tough guy, who slurred his words calling me 5 times after getting out of jail, wasn’t too tough by jumping off a 3rd floor balcony into a tree to try to flee from going back to the same jail he just got released from less than 12 hours ago. … Maybe they have phonics books in jail!”

Michael was also arrested Oct. 25 for allegedly assaulting Kate.

Stars like Kate Hudson, Jenny McCarthy and Jon Gosselin have fallen into new relationships hard and fast, but what effect is their speed dating having on their children?

Some Hollywood celebrities seem to have a revolving door when it comes to relationships, and while I’m not going to stand here in judgment of their “now you see ‘em, now you don’t” style of dating, I do wonder about the impact it is having on their kids.

Case in point: Kate Hudson. Since splitting with husband rocker Chris Robinson in 2006, the Oscar nominee has been linked to a host of men, including Owen Wilson, Dax Shepard, Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez.

During the roughly seven months that Kate was with A-Rod, she fell hard and almost immediately introduced the slugger to her son, Ryder, 6. The pair were reportedly even living together in a house just north of NYC and Kate was spending time getting to know A-Rod’s two daughters. Following in the footsteps of her mom, Goldie Hawn, and stepdad Kurt Russell, the 31-year-old apparently loved the idea of  one big, happy blended family. (Kind of like LeAnn Rimes, who calls beau Eddie Cibrian‘s sons “my boys.”)

But by December last year Kate and A-Rod had struck out, and the Bride Wars star moved quickly on, dragging her son in her wake as she dated two other guys before embarking on a cross-Atlantic relationship with 32-year-old Muse singer Matthew Bellamy.

“Chris is a bit concerned about [their son] Ryder, and the effect all this dating might have on him,” an insider told the New York Daily News earlier this year. “But in the end he knows she’s a great mom.”

I’m glad Chris thinks so, because I have to wonder if poor Ryder wakes up every morning wondering who’s been sleeping in Mommy’s bed… and what continent he’s on.

Psychiatrist Dr. Susan Abbott of New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine says that speed daters like Kate need to be careful about the people they introduce into their kid’s life. “We usually warn parents against bringing in figures who the child could get attached to before the parent is sure that the new figure is going to be around,” she says. “Kids attach fairly easily and can be hurt and damaged when these new attachments leave. Kids don’t really understand the fundamentals of an adult relationship so they aren’t really able to understand that it’s not personal.”

Dr. Abbott says that she has treated children who have been in these situations and these kids “still count these experiences and lost relationships as losses years later. These lost relationships can be factors that lead to depression.”

Consistency is important for children, and that would be even more important for Jenny McCarthy‘s 7-year-old son, Evan, who battled the symptoms of autism for years.

Jenny, 37, credited her five-year-long relationship with Jim Carrey with helping give her the strength to work on her son’s problems, but within four months of their split in April this year, Jenny, and presumably Evan, had moved in with her new boyfriend, Jason Toohey.

I generally think that Jenny is a great mom, but was she thinking with the wrong body part here? Possibly.

But if there was an award for thinking with his little head instead of his big one, the prize would totally go to Jon Gosselin, who has had no less than five “significant others” in his life since splitting with his wife, Kate, a little over a year ago.

I pity Jon and Kate’s eight kids. Well, I feel sorry for them them for lots of reasons, but Daddy’s Bimbo of the Week parade (Hailey Glassman, nanny Stephanie Santoro, Kate Major, Morgan Christie, Ellen Ross) must be one of the most unsettling things for these children to deal with.

Jon’s ex-wife was in tears on the Today show as she discussed the 33-year-old’s rebound relationship with Hailey less than a month after their marriage crumbled, “It’s hurtful when his decisions directly affect our children. That’s the hardest part for me.”

And for once, I agree with her.

When Lindsay’s Inferno director, Matthew Wilder, tried to visit her in the slammer last Saturday, he was turned away because she had used up all her visits!

Despite her jailbird status, Lindsay Lohan is still one popular girl! In fact, so many pals have come to visit her at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, Calif. that they’re being turned away – including the director of her most recent film!

Matthew Wilder tells RadarOnline that he was banned from visiting his Lilo, who plays porn star Linda Lovelace in his upcoming film, Inferno, when he came calling on July 24. “I went down to Lynwood and filled in all the paperwork and waited in line for about 45 minutes only to be told at the last minute that I could not see her because she had used up all her visits. I immediately called her assistant, Eleanor, and she told me that she would in fact not be able to see anybody which was really frustrating.”

Even though his leading lady is in the tank through the rest of July and still has to go to rehab for 90 days, Matthew is still aiming for a November start date to begin shooting Inferno.

“Hopefully, she can draw from her experiences and when she comes back from rehab she can shows everybody exactly what she can do,” says Matthew. “Despite everything we still have a lot of confidence in her and back her 100 percent for Inferno.”

UPDATE: Michael’s representative has released a new statement regarding the accusations made against him by Kate: “It was widely and incorrectly reported today that Michael Lohan was charged with a crime. Though Michael Lohan has not yet been served with any summons, I have reviewed the second degree harassment offense charge that has been filed and made public. Second degree harassment, if proved, is a violation, not a crime. It is not even a misdemeanor. Most often, second degree harassment violations are resolved by the payment of a fine of up to $250. Second degree harassment is the lowest level charge that can be brought in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident, when there are no substantial physical injuries alleged, which is the case here. Michael Lohan continues to maintain that he is 100% innocent.”

Is every member of the Lohan clan a hot mess? Right on the heels of Lindsay Lohan’s July 20 imprisonment, her dad is having his own legal troubles.  50-year-old Michael Lohan allegedly attacked his fiancee, Kate Major, during an altercation at their Southampton home July 19 when he threw her off a chair and kicked her in the face. Michael is now being charged with 2nd degree harassment and will be arraigned on Aug. 18.

Michael’s hotshot attorney, Lisa Bloom just released a statement saying:  ”Michael Lohan 100 per cent denies each and every one of Kate Major’s allegations. He has never threatened to harm her, never assaulted her, and never physically abused her in any way.”

Lisa goes on to say, “Kate was heavily intoxicated during the verbal argument between Michael and Kate in the early afternoon on Monday. Michael Lohan has been clean and sober for six years.”

If the accusations are true, this would mean that Michael domestically assaulted Kate the day BEFORE Lindsay began her 90 day jail sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif.

“Michael Lohan is fully cooperating with the police investigation,” says Lisa. “No charges have been filed. He expects to be fully vindicated.”

Lindsay might not be the only Lohan spending time in jail. Her dad Michael Lohan was charged by the Southhampton, NY police on June 22 with 2nd degree harassment for allegedly attacking his fiancee Kate Major.

Lohan will be formally arraigned on August 18. If he fails to appear a judge can issue a bench warrant for his arrest. According to the police report (obtained by TMZ.com) Michael Lohan threatened to kill Kate Major and kicked her in the face.

According to Kate’s complaint she says, “My fiance Michael Lohan came home while I was sleeping in a sofa chair.  He woke me up, yelling, ‘Why didn’t you pick up your cell phone, you stupid c*nt.’ He then turned over the chair while I was still in it, tossing me to the floor.  I crawled to the other side of the room to get away from him.  He walked over to me, took his shoe off and kicked me in my face while I was still on the ground.  He stood over me and said, ‘I’m going to go back to jail cause of you, cause I will kill you.’”

Kate also said, “He said all of this to me cause he is afraid I’m going to leave him.  I am very afraid of him.”

According to the police report, police observed minor swelling observed on Kate’s lip.

Michael Lohan has said that there was an argument over whether he was in a hotel room with another woman, but he denies hitting Kate.

The Lohan family’s constant drama is seriously backfiring! No one wants to work with them now!

We told you last month Dina Lohan and her brood were shopping around a reality show that would chronicle the daily chaos of their lives, focusing largely on Ali Lohan building her career and featuring guest appearances from Lindsay. However, at least two major networks had no interest in working with them, and one wouldn’t even take a meeting. “We just didn’t want to get involved with all the nonsense going on in their lives,” a senior TV executive tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. ”We didn’t want to be a part of it.”

To be honest, I think the LAST thing the Lohans need is another reality show! Between Lindsay Lohan going to jail and Michael Lohan reportedly being accused of assaulting his fiancée, Kate Major, this family needs to GET OUT of the spotlight — and preferably find themselves a good family therapist.
