This First Lady is known for being a modern day Jackie Kennedy when it comes to fashion. She always impresses us with her groundbreaking styles, and we loved the new ‘do she sported on her 50th birthday on Jan. 17! While the bangs were a fresh update, apparently not everyone seems to be a fan of Michelle’s new look.

Michelle Obama, 50, debuted her sleek, straight bangs on her birthday and at the inaugural festivities. According to most of her fans, the new look is completely flattering on our First Lady. However, according to Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, 79, it is not her best look. We’re certainly used to Karl being a tough critic. He’s been a little harsh on some of our fashion favorites in the past, including Adele, 24, and Kate Middleton, 31, but going after Michelle really takes it to a whole new level!

In an interview with French TV network, Canal Plus, Lagerfeld states, “I do not understand the change in hairstyle.” Not only did he admit to his disapproval, but he went on to compare Madame Obama’s look to that of a news reporter! “‘Speakerine do LCI’ typically has this hairstyle,” he explains, in reference to another TV news network. In between his critiques and bizarre comparisons, he exclaimed more that once that he loves Michelle — but he also adds, “The fringe was not a good idea.”

After hearing Karl’s opinion, tons of critics were quick to share their conflicting views. The majority of responses agreed that the bangs not only make Michelle look way younger, but also exaggerate a softer and more approachable look. Who cares about critics when you have the approval of the U.S. President? If President Obama is taking time out of his inaugural festivities to compliment your bangs, then you must be doing something right!

Mr. President implied several times throughout the day that he was a fan of the new look. “I love my wife’s new bangs – she always looks good,” he said. When you have the approval of the president, you can probably let the rare snide remarks slide.

Now this is posh! I doubt even Victoria Beckham knew that one day she would have the honor of standing in the infamous mirrored staircase on 31 Rue Cambon, in the home of the iconic Coco Chanel — and who better to pose with than Karl Lagerfeld? For an upcoming shoot for French Elle, the star can be seen in gorgeous black and white shots, wearing a fitted Lanvin sweater over a pair of Eres underwear, all while dripping in Chanel jewels.

Becks wears a slew of sexy looks for the shoot, (which are a far cry from the perfectly put-together pearl-and-suit combos often worn by Coco Chanel), but the 38-year-old mother of four looks phenomenal!

Karl Lagerfeld certainly isn’t afraid to speak his mind, and while he may have insulted Pippa’s face, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an affinity for a certain Middleton woman — but unlike the rest of the world, he isn’t gushing about the divine Duchess! Instead, Karl thinks the matriarch of the family, Carole Middleton, is the sexiest of them all.

“I think Carole is very sexy. I think the mother is sexier than the daughters. There is something full of life about her. For a woman who must be 50 or so I think she’s great. Full of energy,” he told Grazia magazine.

For the record, Carole is 57. As for the comments he made to the Sun regarding Pippa’s face, Karl took the opportunity to clarify. While he previously stated, “Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties. On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back,” he tells Grazia:

“I didn’t mean that! I only meant I don’t think her make-up is right; she has a roundish face and round eyes and she should pick another make-up for the eyes.” Not the best way to talk around another one of his infamous comments, but hey, it could be worse! After all, who could forget the fury he caused when he called Adele fat? Rumor has it, she was sent a slew of Chanel to make up for the comments — does that mean Pippa could expect to receive a delivery?

Karl Lagerfeld angered many when he came out and called Adele, “a little too fat,” to Paris Metro, but since then he has apologized saying the quotes were taken out of context, saying he’s actually the singer’s “biggest admirer.” In the latest installment in the Karl/Adele drama, a new report in UK tabloid The Sun says Karl went a step further, really wanting Adele to know he was so sorry. So, how did he do it? By sending her over a slew of Chanel bags, of course!

According to the latest report, a ‘close source’ says, “[Karl] told his team to send Adele the best the fashion house have to offer after hearing she collected bags. He said he really wanted to make it up to her so they could maybe work together in the future.He could see her fronting a campaign for Chanel Mademoiselle bags when the contract with Blake Lively ends.”

While the common person would be overjoyed to receive “the best the fashion house has to offer,” six-time Grammy winner Adele might not be all that impressed — although if true, it’s definitely a bold gesture!

Katy Perry is totally single! HollywoodLife.com has spoken to a source very close to the singer who tells us that Katy isn’t seeing anyone and she’s just friends with Baptiste Giabiconi, 22, the male model who is dating 77-year-old Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld.

“Katy thinks it’s so funny, no, hilarious that people think she’s dating Baptiste,” a source tells us. “He is gay, gay, gay, they are not dating! She’s known Baptiste for years and they are just friends.”

Katy just took to Twitter on March 29 to tell friends she is “single and satisfied.” We told you that Katy wants to start dating and that she’s going to let her good friend Rihanna set her up.

We told you that rumors have been swirling that Baptiste and Karl are set to marry this summer on Karl’s 10-acre estate in Grand Isle, Vermont.

Let’s be honest…if Karl Lagerfeld, king of all things Chanel, were to call me “fat” like he recently did Adele, I would bury myself in a hole and never come back. How mortifying! However, Adele is making it seem like the joke is on Karl and she has nothing to be ashamed about — how amazing is that?

“I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines,” the 23-year-old singer told People after hearing Karl’s comment that she is “a little too fat.” “I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.”

In an interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes that airs Sunday, Adele talks more about here weight.

“I’ve never seen magazine covers or music videos and been like ‘I need to look like that to be a success,’” the talented Brit explained. “I don’t want to be some skinny mini with my tits out. I really don’t want to do it and I don’t want people confusing what it is that I’m about.”

In a world where anorexic runway models are applauded and women feel insane pressure to look like Hollywood stars, it’s refreshing for someone as talented and successful as Adele to embrace herself. Not only is she secure with who she is and how she looks, she has no desire to drop 20 pounds or suffer through a diet. She’s content with what she brings to the table right now — a lesson I know I could stand to learn.

Thanks for the positive message, Adele. Who needs “skinny minis” when we have YOU representing the rest of us?
