After months of intense competition, the final four contestants — Tony Lucca, Juliet Simms, Jermaine Paul and Chris Mann – took to the stage on the May 8 season finale of The Voice, and one of them was officially crowned. So who had the honor of being named “The Voice”? Drumroll please…

Jermaine Paul!

Sobbing on stage in front of millions of viewers, Jermaine thanked everyone who voted for him, as well as his family for their undying support.

“Nobody but Jesus!” he exclaimed. “Nobody!”

Fighting for a recording contract with Universal Republic, the four remaining contestants — Tony Lucca, Juliet Simms, Chris Mann and Jermaine Paul each delivered three performances on the May 7 episode of The Voice: a song they chose, one of their coach’s hits, and a duet with their coach.

Opening the show, Jermaine brought out some R. Kelly, singing “I Believe I Can Fly.” He was great, and he was just as great when singing coach Blake Shelton‘s song and during his duet with Blake. The odd couple complimented each other during their “Soul Man” performance, making it my favorite of the night.

Juliet sang “Crazy,” a song coach Cee Lo Green knew well, but definitely did not live up to the standard she set for herself last week. She later sang with Cee Lo, and they both showed off their wild side with — what else — “Born To Be Wild.” She may have closed the show, but she still fell short of a great performance… even though the coaches said it was good.

Chris and his coach, Christina Aguilera, teamed up for Andrea Bocelli‘s “Prayer,” and definitely kept up with his power-house coach. He later sang “The Voice Within” and “You Raise Me Up,” both of which were sung very well. Chris is definitely the most vocally trained — but would he appeal to everyone?

Tony definitely has my vote. He’s proven himself to be the most versatile, and his version of “99 Problems” was really good. Christina found it offensive to women, causing Adam Levine to strike back, but he then showed love with a “Team Xtina” shirt. (I’m still not sure what her problem was.) Tony later sang a Beatles song with his coach, and was just as impressive when he took on Maroon 5‘s “Harder To Breathe.” (Even if he forgot the words!)

Who do you think should be crowned The Voice on tomorrow’s finale? It’s still anyone’s game, but I’m thinking Tony and Jermaine have the upper hand in the competition. So will Team Adam win again, or will Blake get his first victory? Cast your vote below, then drop a comment with your thoughts!

It was far from business-as-usual April 30 on The Voice, as the rules of the game changed for this part of the competition. All eight contestants sang, and at the end of the night, their respective coaches gave them a score. Those scores, along with America’s votes, will determine who goes home tomorrow night.

To start off the night, Tony Lucca took the stage for Team Adam Levine and sang “How Do You Like Me Now.” He sounded strong and confident and received positive comments from the coaches. Katrina Parker then performed “Killing Me Softly,” which Christina Aguilera — and her “I’m the queen” tiara — took as a chance to criticize Adam’s coaching.

Erin Willet from Team Blake Shelton sang a David Guetta song with a really weird arrangement, and Jermaine Paul definitely proved he isn’t a backup singer anymore, as Adam mentioned.

To kill some time, Team Cee Lo Green and Team Adam joined forces on the stage, just as Team Christina and Team Blake did later in the show. Blake took the stage as well, and reminded everyone why he’s on the judging panel.

First up for Team Christina, Chris Mann stuck to his roots with “Ave Maria,” and it definitely paid off as the coaches praised him. Lindsey Pavao then sang a Bon Iver song that showcased her individual style.

On Team Cee Lo, Jamar Rogers attempted his own rendition of “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” and while it was good, it wasn’t as impressive as his other performances. Juliet Simms closed the show with “This Is A Man’s World,” and again brought out the stage presence and flashy get-up — but definitely proved to be the frontrunner and best of the night.

Only four contestants will move on to the finals. My choices for the finals are Tony, Jermaine, Chris, and Juliet, although Jamar is also a favorite.
