Nobody knows the holidays better than Martha Stewart, and she’s so excited to spend this year with her eight-month-old grandchild!

Martha Stewart is such a proud grandmother of her daughter Alexis Stewart’s baby girl Jude! And she told Hollybaby.com EXCLUSIVELY the best thing about being a grandmother!

“Oh, just having time to spend with the baby! My gosh, it is fun!” she told Hollybaby.com at the 4th Annual Martha Stewart Center for Living Gala in NYC on Nov. 16.

Martha also dished to reporters about spending the holidays with the new baby. What is she most excited for this season? “Decorating a whole house for the new grandchild!” she revealed.

The proud grandmother couldn’t stop gushing over Jude. “She’s very curious,” she praised. “I think she got the curiosity gene from me.” She said that at 8-months-old Jude is already reading, writing, and walking! But Martha credits her daughter for Jude’s talents. “She’s a fantastic mother,” she explained. “That’s why the baby is already doing so much at her age. She’s really an attentive and very caring mother!”

As for Martha, spending time with Jude is enough for her this holiday season. But she revealed one thing she’s asking for — trees! “Some trees that were lost in the snowstorm,” she said. “That’s all I want [for Christmas].”

Martha Stewart‘s only child, daughter Alexis Stewart, 45, publicly struggled for so many years to conceive a baby through IVF before turning to surrogacy, like Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman. “Having my own kid is the most important thing in my life,” she said at the time.  And finally, on March 7th, a surrogate gave birth to Alexis’s new baby daughter, Jude! Now Alexis has shared the first photos of her new infant!

And in a clue that the surrogate was implanted with Alexis’s actual egg, Martha said on her show, “she’s cute and she has Lexie’s pouty little mouth. Very, very lovely child.” Now Martha has an heir to her empire! Congratulations to all of you!

Alexis Stewart, 45, has struggled to conceive a child for years, spending almost $20,000 a month on fertility treatments. But now, her wait is over. Alexis welcomed a baby girl named Jude, via a surrogate, on March 8, and has given Martha Stewart a grandchild! Congratulations!

And although Martha, 69, may have been eager to become a grandmother, Alexis says her mom will not be called “Grandma.”

“Martha is going to be called, ‘Martha,’” Alexis announced on her radio show, Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer. “She seemed to have no problem with it. … I was like, ‘Do you really want to be ‘grandma’? I don’t like the term grandma!” Hmm, what’s wrong with ‘Nanny?’ “

Of course being that she is Martha Stewart, “Martha” has already splurged on little Jude’s baby gifts. “She was born at 1 in the morning … and [Martha] brings this huge box from Bergdorf [Goodman],” Alexis says. “I open it up and I look inside and it’s full of baby clothes, all with embroidery, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I guess I’m going to be allowed to buy myself something pretty nice because all this stuff’s going back!’

“If the kid can’t see it, why the hundred-dollar [clothes]?” she continued. “Only books, child-appropriate or whatever: that’s the only thing that I want. No toys please!”

Well, we know Jude will already have plenty of cookbooks around!
