The events surrounding Johnny Lewis‘ suicide and murder of his landlord left many people very confused. The actor, who dated Katy Perry from 2005 – 2006, had just recently been released from jail. There were numerous reports that he had been on hallucinogenic drugs and medication during the tragic events on Sept. 26, but the toxicology report claims otherwise, how sad!

Johnny’s death has also been ruled an accident — even though many thought he purposefully jumped off his roof. The autopsy found nail marks on his neck and that he had been “partially strangled” suggesting that the landlady Catherine Davis, 81, had attempted to fight back.

But no cocaine, alcohol, or marijuana was found in his system. The toxicology report leaves many wondering why the actor would have killed his landlady and his own death remains a mystery.

News of Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis‘ untimely death on Wednesday, Sept. 26 has shaken Hollywood. Katy Perry, whom Johnny dated from 2005-2006, is reportedly “devastated” over the loss.

A source tells Us Weekly that, while she is “devastated,” Katy could sense trouble for Johnny back when they dated. “She had to separate from him . . . to get ahead and focus on her career,” the source says. “He was in trouble then and she couldn’t help him. A lot of her songs were partially inspired by him. I know “The One That Got Away” and “Circle the Drain” are partly about him, as well as Travis [McCoy of Gym Class Heroes]. But she was young and it was a time in her life she cherishes.”

The source adds, “They had good times. It’s really sad. She could never help him and couldn’t [let herself] go in that direction.”

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has said he’d work with Johnny Lewis again “in a heartbeat” — Johnny’s character, “Half-Sack,” was killed off on the second season finale — but sadly, it doesn’t look like he’ll get that opportunity. TMZ reports that 28-year-old Johnny was found dead Sept. 26 in a driveway in Los Angeles, and authorities suspect he could be connected to the death of a 70-year-old woman inside the house.

After being written off Sons of Anarchy, Johnny went on to act in several films, including Kristen Stewart‘s The Runaways. Prior to his work on Sons, Johnny had recurred on The O.C. as Dennis “Chili” Childress.

Johnny also dated Katy Perry from 2005 to 2006.
