The 68 teams that will be playing for college basketball’s national championship were announced on Mar. 17, and many celebrities used Twitter to express their excitement — and in some cases disappointment — about this year’s March Madness.

Celebrities Get March Madness: Cheer On Their Alma Maters

There were a lot of celebs giving their alma maters shout outs. John Legend, who is a graduate of Ohio State University, tweeted, “Congratulations to THE Ohio State University! Big 10 champs!” By winning the Big 10, Ohio State secured a two-seed — they’re one of the favorites to win the whole tournament!

Jimmy Kimmel congratulated his alma mater UNLV, saying, “Go forth, Rebels! @UNLVRebellion.”

Nelly repped his hometown college team, the Saint Louis University Billikens: “Congrads to SLU #4 seed in tournament !!! GO GETTEM Stlouis !!! !!!!!” he tweeted.

And then there’s Ashley Judd, who had a tough day when her alma mater University of Kentucky was not selected to play in the tournament. “Offsetting March Sadness w/ KY schools WKY & UoL dancing (& w/ such style),” she messaged. The notorious Kentucky superfan is apparently taking pride in the other Kentucky teams that made it in!

T.I. & More Celebs Tweet For March Madness

Other stars got in the Twitter act, cheering on their favorite teams.

“Congrats to Ole Miss..March Madness will be unreal..” sportscaster Erin Andrews tweeted.

Rapper T.I. got behind the University of Memphis, messaging, “Congrats @UofMTigersHoops CUSA 2013 Conference Champs!”

And director Spike Lee really got into the March Madness mood, sending out multiple tweets. “Good Luck To LIU/BROOKLYN BLACKBIRDS In Play In Game Against James Madison-MARCH MADNESS,” he tweeted, giving a shout out to his hometown college. He also congratulated VCU’s coach Shaka Smart, saying, “Good Luck To Coach Shaka “Havoc”Smart And The VCU Rams For The Upcoming NCAA Tournament.”

Finally, comedian Michael Ian Black joked that he already knew who the champion was going to be: “Just filled out my March Madness bracket. Once again, I’ve got Julliard to win it all. #thisistheiryear.”

Claiming she “was on the wine,” Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen bared it all Thursday night, posting a revealing picture –which is now erased– while cracking up with her spray tan artist Amy Ritter. The photo showed that, while her covers are photoshopped, they certainly don’t need to be!

“If this doesn’t get suspended I dunno what will #happy2000000,” Chrissy captioned the pic, celebrating the mark. However, she wrote 2 million instead of 200,000 — which she later corrected.

At least we know she’s getting a spray tan and not going in the tanning bed!

Blame It On The Alcohol

Chrissy’s follow-up tweets — her account did not get suspended — proved that she wasn’t exactly sober at the time of the photo being posted.

“Sh-t. I didn’t think it was that bad but I’m on the wine,” she wrote, after she looked at the photo. Then, she followed up with “It’s not a nipple it’s a shadow it’s not a bush it’s a shadow oh god I just blew it up on my computer I get what you’re saying oh no.”

Chrissy Will Marry John Legend… Eventually

John Legend and Chrissy have been engaged since 2011, and she recently said the wedding better happen soon.

“We keep pushing the date,” Chrissy told Daily News last month. “Definitely this year, but this year just started. If it’s not this year, I’m out.”

After various reports slammed the model for her statement, she let everyone know that “obviously it was a joke,” and she doesn’t “even care about getting married.”

Well, John, after seeing this pic, we’d advise you to walk down the aisle soon!

When you started your version of John Legend‘s “This Time,” it was as if time stood still – you were mesmerizing.

The heartfelt tune could be your own personal anthem – that’s the way you sang it.

You fully embraced it’s poignant message, making it clear through your voice and your gestures , how much it resonated for you personally.

“This time I want it all, this time I want it all… this time I’ll take the chance, this time I’ll be your man, I can be all you need,” you sang.

And “last time I wasn’t sure, this time I will give you more, I’m more mature, I’ll show you. Last time I didn’t go.”

What Burnell Was Saying With This Song

Granted John Legend’s “This Time” is a love song, but Burnell, you seemed to be using it to say that “this time” at 19, now you’re ready to be a man making his own destiny. This time, you’re not going to be afraid of the immense challenge of winning American Idol.

Maybe in the past you shrank away from taking the enormous step of letting the world judge your talent… but not this time.

Nicki Minaj was enraptured. She said she’d “pay to watch you sing” and she MEANT it. You were that good. I’d pay to watch and listen to you sing too! You owned the song, you owned the moment and you owned the night.

It was a heart – tugging moment. To think that you and your family were victims of Hurricane Katrina – you lost everything.

How Burnell Found His Voice

Yet it was only after Katrina and that enormous loss, when you had to move to Baton Rouge to start over – that you discovered your singing voice, you told the American Idol judges.

Well, what a gift that singing voice is, and not just to you. It’s a gift to all of us!

You will give the women’s top contender, talented Angela Miller, 18, a major run for the crown as the next American Idol.

John Legend did a remake of his hit ‘Ordinary People’ and dedicated it to Tim Tebow. Watch the hilarious video here!

John Legend is the latest celeb to dedicate a piece of work to the great Tim Tebow and it’s very entertaining.

On ESPN’s First Take, the singer sang a new rendition of his hit “Ordinary People,” and called it “Extra-Ordinary Tebow.” In the spoof, John warns Tim to “deny Kim K advances and TV ballroom dances,” among other things.

Ever wonder what happens when the cameras aren’t rolling on the Dancing with the Stars set? Well, thanks to a source that was at CBS Studios in Hollywood Nov. 9, HollywoodLife.com has the full report on all the happenings and behind the scenes scoop!

*Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough started out the night with a 50s-themed dance that was pre-taped for next week’s episode. Watch out for their romantic lip lock during the number – it’s super hot!

*Being in the DWTS live studio audience is a blast! The warm up guy got the entire audience on the floor (with some help from DWTS pro Tony Dovolani, Kyle Massey and even Brandy). They all led the audience to a dance to YMCA, which was conveniently changed to “DWTS.” All of the celebs families, including the Warner’s, Norwood’s and Massey’s, were getting their groove on. However, Bristol’s family refrained from joining in the fun – guess they must be worse dancers than Bristol!

*Kyle Massey was so happy to be there. His presence lit up the audience and he actually was the one celeb that sneaked as many chances throughout the night to watch the show in the crowd, instead of hiding backstage.

*Kurt Warner totally knew he was going home and was visibly sad throughout the whole process. There were a couple times that Bruno was watching some videos and talked privately to the other judges about how much he loved Kurt. All the judges were very sad to see Kurt go, they kept talking to each other and mentioning that each of them loved how nice he was, and how he was such a class act.

*Speaking of disappointment, the audience was bummed when it realized both of John Legend’s performances were actually pre-taped and he wasn’t in the studio. The magic of TV!

*Carrie Ann Inaba was visibly annoyed and rolled her eyes after watching the video package that showed Maksim being overly dramatic and calling out the judges. She was mad at him, but after the show completed, they both embraced and hugged for a good two minutes as Carrie Ann spoke calmly in his ear. It was nice to witness them both reconcile their differences.

*Brandy‘s daughter started crying the second Brandy was in the bottom two. Brandy saw this happening and almost started crying herself. She kept saying “don’t cry” in a comforting manner toward her daughter.

It was a star studded night Nov. 9 at VH1′s Save The Music Foundation Gala in NYC, and some of the biggest names in music braved the cold weather to attend. HollywoodLife.com was on the red carpet to catch up with artists like Jason Mraz, and then we got to go inside to the swanky charity dinner!

Gorgeous Broadway actress Kristin Chenoweth wowed guests with a rendition of “The Sound of Music” in honor of Julie Andrews, one of the evening’s honorees. Then Natasha Bedingfield sang her hit song “Unwritten” (so if you were a fan of MTV’s The Hills, you’ll understand why Lauren Conrad teared up while introducing her!)

When John Mayer gave his acceptance speech, he talked about sending women bottles of wine after they give birth, and John Legend had almost everyone in tears when talking about being bullied growing up.

After the gala, guests attended the after party, hosted by Pete Wentz at BLT inside the W New York Downtown hotel.

Alicia and new hubby Swizz Beatz were pictured hand in hand at the Rock the Bells concert in New York on Aug. 28, where Alicia took to the stage with Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Beyoncé, Chris Rock and Estelle to support their pal Lauryn Hill‘s return to performing. The “Fallin’” singer showed off her baby bump in a cream jumper while she danced and sang.

Alicia, 29, and Swizz, 31, made it a double-date night, and were pictured alongside other power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé. Will Alicia’s baby joy rub off on Beyoncé?

Whether it was from the sunshine in St. Tropez or her pregnancy, Alicia had quite a post-honeymoon glow about her. She’s just a few months away from giving birth to her first child, and Alicia is counting down the days. “I can’t wait to become a mum. No question. It’s the most beautiful gift in the world. Truly a gift from God,” she said back in June. “I have an amazing mother – she is a best friend to me. And I would like to be the same to my child.”

George Clooney‘s brilliant idea to host a two-hour telethon Jan. 22 in support of the crisis in Haiti is turning out to be one of the largest Hollywood charity events. Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief announced that the global telethon will feature 21 musical performances that will air during the telethon.

Clooney and Wyclef Jean will be in LA hosting along with Oprah Winfrey and Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert Pattinson will be contributing from London.

The musical acts will take place all over the world — In NYC: Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Jennifer Hudson, and Wyclef Jean will hit the mic in support of the cause. L.A. will feature: Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow. Coldplay, Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna will also hit the stage with a group performance that we’re sure will blow our minds!
