Harry did Rose’s hair for the May 25 X-Men: First Class movie premiere. The inspiration for her look? Rose herself!

“Rose is such a classic beauty,” said Harry. “I wanted to create a look that complemented her natural sophistication by creating a no-frills up do that showcased her beauty. Her style is so elegant and well put-together yet always appears effortless. I wanted her hair to reflect that – naturally polished and beautiful.”

Follow these simple steps to try the style yourself!

• Harry started with the new John Frieda Root Lift Foam (a weightless, root-boosting formula that lifts the hair while protecting it from heat styling) while Rose’s hair was wet to give her the lift she needed for the updo.

• Harry began blowing out her hair with a boar bristle brush, one section at a time, for sleek, straight locks.

She caught up HollywoodLife.com to tell us how to throw a fabulous holiday party, and also some last minute Christmas shopping advice!

Check out her tips on how to throw a holiday party that no one will forget!

1. The best parties are all about the best ‘mixes’ – mixes of music, people and food. Make sure you have a good playlist set up on your iPod with some great holiday favorites and more current songs, like “Better Than Her!”
2. Have something for everybody when it comes to food. Don’t forget about your vegetarian friends when preparing your party treats.
3. To keep costs down and make life easier for yourself, offer one or two special party drinks. There are so many great Christmas ‘theme’ drinks out there to choose from and you can get creative with what you serve!
4. Ask your guests to bring an unwrapped toy to your party that can be given to Toys 4 Tots, or canned goods for the local food bank, or to put a few dollars in for a charity of your choice. It’s a great way to be reminded of what the season is really all about!
5. As for the hostess, make sure you leave time for yourself to get glammed up. Give yourself plenty of time to get dressed and do your hair and makeup. For the hautest looks, wear myface cosmetics matching blingtones and lil’bling chrome nail polish in Diamonds & Pearls, Silver Screen, or Gilt-y!

In my personalized session, Harry gave me some amazing tips that add barely any time into my getting ready process. He suggested a John Frieda clarifying shampoo to get rid of build up and told me to, “keep conditioner off your roots and that will give your hair a little more lift.” And, if I need a post-work boost of volume, to spray my roots with a root lifter and blast it with a blow dryer. Who knew you could put product on dry hair?!

As far as summer trends go, Harry is on the forefront. Here’s what he says you should be wearing now!

A High Pony

“It’s really a big hit because its sexy and the placement of the pony is what makes it modern. If you do it low, its old. For the summer a high pony on the top of your crown is going to be flirty. Plus, it’s practical. If your hair is curly, keep it curly, if it’s straight, keep it straight. Texture’s not the key, the look is. It lifts your face up. Elongating your eyes pulling it up and creating a sexy, flirty look,” Harry says.

Beachy Waves

“Messy, beachy waves are never going to go out of style. It’s a classic because everybody wants this hair. Mousse is the ultimate product for that kind of look. It’s weightless, it’s light, and it gives hold but not crunch. Anybody at home should be using that,” Harry says.

Messy Top Bun

“The messy top bun is for the person who just cannot deal in the heat and is like ‘I’m wearing my hair up but I don’t want it to look like a gym bun.’ Think about parts. It’s just a two minute tweak that can make a difference. I did Amanda Seyfried for the Oscars. I did an extreme side part in her hair and brushed it so it gave a sweeping effect in the front. Have it so far over so when you pull it back its got kind of a bang. And, instead of just tying it in the middle, do it on the side. A little tweak will make it look like you tried. If it’s a hot summer night and you’re wearing a summer dress, cut a fresh flower and bobby pin it in there. Subtle tweaks like that will make a big difference,” Harry says. - Marta Topran
