Ahoy! Joel Madden‘s little boy Sparrow James Midnight channeled Captain Jack Sparrow with his little pirate getup! The cute father-son pair was spotted at the Ink Snack store on Melrose Ave in West Hollywood.

The almost three-year-old boy looked adorable in his pirate-themed face paint and bandana, and even topped off his outfit with a toy sword!

Sparrow is the youngest child to Joel and his wife Nicole Richie, who are also parents to Harlow, 4.

Nicole Richie was once a wild child but those days are long gone. The 30-year-old fashion designer says her kids have totally grounded her and they keep her totally busy. We bet Hollymoms can totally relate to this!

“Joel [Madden] and I are complete polar opposites,” Nicole says. “He’s from southern Maryland. He’s very family-oriented. He grew up with four brothers and sisters. When we met, I was definitely going through a difficult time with my family, and having him have such a strong foundation really opened the doors and brought both of our families together.”

Although she has settled down, Nicole was once Paris Hilton‘s party partner in crime and the House of Harlow creator says her son Sparrow definitely has her spunk!

“My daughter [Harlow, 2,] looks exactly like me, and she has Joel’s personality,” Nicole says. “She’s very careful. She doesn’t make a move without fully thinking about what the consequences would be and what that means. Sparrow, 4, looks exactly like Joel and has my personality. He’s just wild. I’m in for the ride. He’s two, and we’ve had broken fingers, we’ve been to the hospital. You cannot take your eye off of him for a second. He is just a full, free spirit.”

Joel Madden has been touring Europe all summer with his band Good Charlotte, hitting cities from Germany to the UK and back. But as exciting as that may sound, he desperately misses his family! The rocker, 32, who married Nicole Richie this past December, can’t stand to be away from his kids, Harlow, 3, and Sparrow, almost 2 — but thank God he has Skype!

In a blog for Paper Mag, Joel shared photos from his tour, including these adorable shots of his kids. “Saying goodbye is always hard,” he wrote, along with the picture of him, Harlow and Sparrow. “On my last day in L.A. before leaving on tour, I always try and take my wife and kids somewhere fun. This was taken on the Ferris Wheel at Santa Monica Pier. Best day ever.”

But luckily, the on-the-road dad has learned that although he’s far away, it doesn’t mean he can’t keep up with Harlow and Sparrow’s summer activities. He iChats and Skypes them every chance he gets!

“And the very most important part of my day. iChat with my kiddies,” Joel writes. “Nothing I could see in any city could ever stoke me more than seeing this.” AWW!

“It’s hard to be away,” Joel admitted once. “It’s the first time I ever questioned what I did because sometimes you miss moments and you’re like, ‘Is this worth it?’”

Well obviously your kids adore you Joel, so you must be doing something right!

The new mom was joined by a glowing Jessica Alba and fellow stylish mom Nicole Richie at fashion pro Katherine Power’s wedding in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 26.

The three A-list mommies were accompanied by their hubbies, Rodger Berman, Cash Warren and Joel Madden as they strolled into popular eatery Mr. Chow for Katherine Power and photographer Justin Coit‘s marriage celebrations.

Rachel Zoe, 39, who just welcomed son Skyler two months ago, showed off her slim, but healthy new shape in a black one-shoulder, floor-length dress. Motherhood has definitely agreed with her — she’s never looked better or happier!

Pregnant Jessica Alba wowed in a bright blue, knee-length dress with gold wedged sandals. Jessica, 30, who is due in September, and her dapper dude Cash, 32, were the epitome of chic!

And lastly, fashionista herself, Nicole Richie, 29, opted for a navy, satin gown with an embellished head piece from her House of Harlow line. ( And she accessorized with the very handsome Joel!) 60s glamour at it’s 2011 best!

Two is always a nice number, as Joel Madden and Nicole Richie know very well. They have a 3-year-old daughter, Harlow, and a 1-year-old son, Sparrow. “I don’t think it’s fair to ask someone that had two [children] back to back if they’re going to have another one. Right now I’m like, ‘Nooo!’” Nicole, 29, laughed during an appearance on The Talk. “But you never know. I need a nap!”

And if Nicole thinks two is enough, imagine how Chris O’ Donnell feels, he’s got five little kids running around! “I love it,” Chris says of having five kids, Lily, 11, Chip, 10, Charles, 7, Finley, 5, and Maeve, 3. “I don’t have as much time with Maeve and Finn as I did when Lily and Chip were their age, and that makes me feel a bit bad. But they’re having a different experience; the kids create their own fun.”

But, of course, how could we forget Kate Gosselin – -she’s the single mother of eight! Now that’s A LOT to deal with (plus a reality show).

Nicole Richie posted a video of her family’s “life on the road” with Joel Madden’s band Good Charlotte. And Harlow and Sparrow are true groupies!

Nicole Richie shared some footage of her time out on tour with hubby Joel Madden, his group Good Charlotte and their two kids, Harlow, 3, and Sparrow, 1, on her blog today, April 19. And this has to be one of the most adorable rock ‘n’ roll videos — if those exist — we have ever seen!

Not only do Harlow and Sparrow rock out like real groupies, but they wear adorable protective earphones while doing it!

And we must say, they got pretty good dance moves! Check out the video!
