Joe Simpson and his wife Tina, who coached their daughter Jessica Simpson to be a global superstar, have filed for divorce.

It was a shared decision, a rep tells HollywoodLife.com.

“It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved,” the rep said. “Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”

Joe Simpson, 54, was arrested for a DUI in Sherman Oaks, Calif., on August 4.

TMZ reports Jessica Simpson‘s dad was pulled over around 10pm and spent most of the night behind bars.

LAPD confirms to HollywoodLife.com that Joe was booked last week for being intoxicated. More details about his arrest have yet to be revealed, but we’re sure Jessica and  Ashlee Simpson aren’t happy about this.

This should be the happiest time of her life, but health woes, sleepless nights and prenup drama are stressing Jessica out! She’s fed up!

Jessica Simpson was glowing when she announced her pregnancy, but all of that has changed as medical and family drama put her life in turmoil. “She’s said it’s been a difficult pregnancy — she’s been dizzy and nauseous,” a friend told OK!. And her pregnancy has been so difficult that doctors even gave 31-year-old Jessica a stern warning — no more junk food or you’ll hurt the baby!

“They beg her to ease off, but so far she has not been able to help herself,” a friend revealed to OK!. “Everything she eats is highly processed with chemicals and preservatives, white flour and sugar.” Jessica’s been known to love her junk food, but now that she’s pregnant she has an excuse to it her favorite treats (check out below for a step-by-step look at her cravings).

“Her mom and sister Ashlee tell her that all those chemicals are bad for the baby, but she won’t listen,” the insider added. “Jessica has always loved to eat; almost to the point of addiction. Jessica’s drug of choice is food and has been since she was a little kid.”

And fiance Eric Johnson isn’t helping her stay healthy: “She’ll tell Eric to bring her home a brownie, but once she has one, it kind of kicks in a binge. She’ll move onto ice cream, then she’ll want something salty, like potato chips with French onion dip.”

Jessica’s unhealthy diet has made her gain way more weight, and now she’s so uncomfortable. “Everything on her is swollen — out to her feet and hands,” the source told OK!. “Jess says she feels like a beached whale. She’s always too hot. She’s taking three showers a day.”

To make matters worse, the stress has led to many sleepless nights! “She can never find the right position,” the source explained. “Jess is a stomach sleeper and has a hard time adjusting; her breasts and belly are so big. Since she’s pregnant, she can’t even take a mild sleeping pill.”

But finding the right sleeping position isn’t what’s keeping her up at night — it’s the drama between her fiance and her dad, Joe Simpson! According to OK!, Eric is refusing to sign a prenup, and Joe isn’t happy. “It’s been getting worse by the day,” the source said. “Instead of resolving stuff, they’ve only dug themselves deeper. Until this all started they had the most harmonious relationship. But the other day, Jessica said she was starting to think they’d never work it out.”

All the fighting has led to postponing the wedding! But publicly, Jess still says it’s because of her hormones. “When I get stressed out, it’s like 50 times worse,” she said. “So I really want to enjoy that day and now I get to have my baby with me.”

How can Jess stay positive with all the stress? “She just wants to have the baby and be a mom already,” the friend said.

But despite all the drama, the singer-turned-designer can still lean on her fiance and her sister Ashlee Simpson. Throughout all the health scares and nightmares, Ashlee’s counseled Jess. The mom of almost 3-year-old Bronx talks to Jess constantly over the phone and in person, and she’s the ONLY one who can calm her down. To keep Jessica happy, Eric sweetly holds doors open for her, rubs her swollen feet and lets her take her bad mood out on him. “Jessica seems to feel that Eric’s only job in life should be pleasing her,” a source said.

Jessica’s eating for two — but she’s taking it to a new level with sugar, sodium and other bad snacks! “It’s wrecking havoc on her blood pressure and cholesterol,” a source told OK!. Here’s some of the worst offenders in her diet:

• Jack in the Box shakes: Jessica loves them, but they’re 700 calories!
• Sweet and salty snacks — together: Her favorite snack is salt and vinegar chips, dip and M&Ms, but that’s a day’s worth of salt and sugar.
• Taco Bell: The fast food joint is easily accessible, but a meal there can be 14 grams of fat.
• In-n-Out Burger: Sure the cheeseburgers are delicious, but the 1,440 grams of sodium is far from a healthy option.

Jessica is pregnant, according to a new report, but she wants $500,000 to announce the news!

The obvious baby bump on Jessica Simpson has pregnancy rumors buzzing, but sources say her father Joe Simpson wants a big magazine deal before the family confirms the news, according to Page Six! Can you believe it?

Sources said the father and daughter were asking for up to $500,000 for the news and eventual baby photos!

OK! has a cover story with Jessica that reads, “Yes, I”m Having A Baby!” In the article, a friend of Jessica told the magazine that she and her fiance Eric Johnson have been telling friends that they’re expecting.

The friend told the magazine that even though the pregnancy came as a surprise, Jessica’s excited: “She joked, ‘Well, now I can eat anything I want and no one will care! It’s just sort of a rule with pregnant women.’”

It’s not unusual! Other celebs have gotten big money for their baby photos in the past! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly got a cool $14 million from People for their pics of Vivienne and Knox, and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony reportedly sold received $6 million for pictures of twins Emme and Max!

Sources claim Ashlee’s father is keeping her from reuniting with Pete Wentz

We were saddened to hear the news Ashlee Simpson was filing for divorce from Pete Wentz. This was only worsened by reports Pete, 31, was desperately trying to reunite with his wife, crying and begging Ashlee, 26, to take him back. Now, it seems like Ashlee’s dad Joe has stepped in to make sure they don’t get back together.

“Just like when Jessica split from Nick [Lachey], Joe is doing nothing to encourage Ashlee to give the marriage another try, if only for the sake of her son,” an insider tells Popeater. “Joe likes being the only man in his daughters’ lives.”

Meanwhile, Joe is publicly announcing his support for his daughter. He tells OK! Magazine, “We will never let our daughters be alone. We are here to hug them and give them a shoulder to cry on.”

And as for his daughter’s relationship with the father of her son Bronx, 2? “Things were not right for a while,” explains Joe.

Pete went crying to Joe and Tina a day after Ashlee filed, in a failed attempt to smooth things over with her parents and win his wife back. “Joe got rid of Nick, and now he is saying goodbye to Pete,” a friend of Pete’s says. “Let’s hope Ashlee finds more happiness than Jessica did when she finds herself officially single again.”

Pete Wentz was left completely heartbroken when his wife Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce on Feb. 9 in Los Angeles, Calif. “Pete has been crying a lot to her about this,” a source close to the couple tells RadarOnline.com. “He is crushed, and does not want it to be over.”

On Feb. 10, TMZ reported that Pete, 31, begged Ashlee, 26, not to go through with it, but to no avail. “Ashlee is done,” explains the source. “She loves him, but she’s ready to move on.”

“When he traveled for work, she had a lot of time to think and in the end she just felt happier without him,” adds the source. “They married really young and have grown apart, she just wants to focus on her child and her career.”

According to the source, Pete had no clue that this was coming. He was even planning a Valentine’s day surprise for Ashlee.

Pete was also spotted stopping by Ashlee’s parents’ house in L.A. on Feb. 10. Could he have been seeking advice from papa Joe Simpson on how to win Ashlee back?

Friends of Ashlee blame the split on Pete’s “erratic behavior,” while Pete’s people are saying that the couple just grew apart.

Pete and Ashlee married in May 2008 and have a 2-year-old son, Bronx, together. Ashlee is asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of the tot.

I hate to say it, Jessica Simpson, but this Valentine’s Day is going to suck for you. I mean, single girls around the globe have always declared Feb. 14 to be a non-holiday, then gone out, drank heavily with girlfriends, and convinced themselves that ‘girl-power’ makes them happy.

It ain’t true.

This V-Day is your first time in a long time as a single girl. This means no candy hearts (unless your dad buys one for you out of pity), no lingerie (same – gross – but then again, your dad IS the uber-creepy Joe Simpson), no roses and no kisses (read above: it’s called making out with a random to make yourself feel better).

Last year you had Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, but the cad dumped you on your 29th birthday. The cad. And although everyone thinks you’re dating Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, both you and I know you’re just friends.

Part of the problem, Jess, is location, location, location. You’re living in New York City at the moment – which is hands down the WORST place on the planet to meet dudes. They’re all too ambitious, too driven, too boring (for my liking, at least). Trust me, I lived there for four years – and know how hard it is to take a bite out of the rotten Big Apple dating scene.

But now that I’ve moved to California, let me tell you girl – I’m happy as a clam. Boyfriend? Check. Quality of men? Again, double check (but hang out in Venice or Santa Monica, the guys in Hollywood are hot messes).

The top three cities in the US to find love are in – hello! – California (Long Beach, Anaheim and Santa Ana, to be exact). So OK, Los Angeles isn’t really up there in the top 10 (it’s #64, to be exact) but hey, it worked for me…
