Jodie Sweetin struggled with drug and alcohol addiction on and off for over a decade, but now that she is fully recovered and the mother to two beautiful girls, Zoie, 3, and Beatrix, 8 months, she wants to focus on her future.

“[My struggles are] pretty much in the past,” The former Full House star tells People. “Hopefully, it’ll never be anything my kids have to be a part of. I wish I hadn’t gone through that, but I did.”

And although Jodie won’t “sit down and talk to my kids about it preemptively or anything,” she won’t lie to them if they ask her, either.

“I’ve been really open about what I’ve gone through in general, so if they ask me about it, I’ll be open with them, too,” Jodie says. “I don’t think there’s any reason to hide it. It’s nothing I’m ashamed of. But just like with various people my own age, I’m not just going to go out of my way to talk about it with my kids.”

Jodie is moving forward and enjoying her life as a mom of two and soon-to-be wife to Beatrix’s father, Morty Coyle, who she describes as “wonderful and fantastic.”

“My life is so good that I’m not missing out on anything,” she says. “I finally got to a point in my life where I go to bed at, like, 10:30. To me, a nice night at home is watching American Idol, reading a book and sleeping. Now, I don’t think anything in the world could be better than what I have.”

And if you’re wondering if one more baby would make her life even more complete, stop wondering. “I think I’m done having kids,” Jodie admits. “If I had more, it would be in a few years from now, but I think I’m good.”

Is former Full House star Jodie Sweetin trying to turn her daughter Zoie into a little housewife? The mommy-daughter duo spent Feb. 16 shopping for groceries and then cooking up a storm in the kitchen!

“Made cupcakes with Zoie today,” Jodie, 29, gushed on her Twitter page. “She helped with the mixing and put the sprinkles on. She even went to the grocery store w me! So much fun :)”

Zoie, 2 1/2, also probably wanted to spend some much-needed alone time with her mommy. If you have a younger brother or sister, you know how it feels when a family adds a new addition. Zoie likely has seen her five-month-old half-sister, Beatrix, getting a lot of attention lately.

Happy birthday, Jodie Sweetin! The child actor (ehm, Stephanie Tanner) turned TV host turned mommy has had an exciting year of changes! After struggling with a drug addiction for years, Jodie turned her life around when she welcomed her first daughter Zoie, 2, saying her pregnancy “was a blessing.” She now has a second little girl, Beatrix, 5 months, with her now fiance Morty Coyle.

“It was a complete surprise,” Sweetin tells People of Morty popping the question at her birthday party at Kibitz Room in Los Angeles. “We are just thrilled and I am in shock still!” We know Jodie and her family are looking forward to a wonderful engagment celebration.

What should have been one of the happiest moments in Jodie Sweetin‘s life turned into a real life nightmare. Shortly after giving birth via scheduled C-section to her daughter, Beatrix, on August 31, she began to feel extremely weak. Before long (she tells People magazine) she “was in excruciating pain.” Doctors soon realized that she was bleeding internally and they rushed her into surgery. “It was terrifying,” says Jodie, 28.

Doctors removed two liters of blood from her abdomen, but were unable to locate the exact problem spot. She needed several transfusions and the situation looked so dire, that her mother, Janice, and boyfriend, Morty Coyle, had to deal with the possibility that the former Full House star wouldn’t survive. “We asked doctors if there was anything we could do,” Morty, 41, tells the magazine. “They said, ‘We have a nice chapel downstairs.’” Can you think of anything more terrifying for a brand new father, HollyMoms?

Tests revealed that Jodie was going into DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation), a disorder that causes irregular clotting and continued bleeding. Jodie, who kicked an addiction to meth and has been clean for nearly two years, spent two days in the ICU after coming out of surgery. And she is singing the praises of her boyfriend. “He never left my side,” she reveals. “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”

It must be nice for her to have a good man in her life, after going through a nasty divorce from her first husband Cody Herpin. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Zoie, together. “She’s such a gift,” says her proud mama about her first born. “I just want her to be loved from all sides.”

After her near-death experience, it looks like Jodie is making the most of every second she’s been given.

Jodie just had to share the good news about the birth of her new baby girl, Bea, with her good friend (and former Full House castmate) Candace. After all, the women have been friends since childhood!

When Full House actress Jodie Sweetin welcomed her second daughter, Beatrix Carlin Sweetin Coyle, into the world on Aug. 31, she made sure that her friends were told the good news ASAP! “I heard from her boyfriend [Morty Coyle] last night when she had the baby,” Jodie’s former co-star Candace Cameron Bure told HollyBaby.com exclusively Sept. 1 at Ok! magazine’s fifth anniversary party at La Vida in Los Angeles. “I got a private text that she delivered and everything went great!”“There weren’t major details,” said the 34-year-old. “I haven’t talked to them on the phone [yet]. I think I’ll wait a few days for everything to calm down to give them a call.”

It’s not a surprise that Candace received the text about Jodie giving birth — the women have been good friends for ever since they played siblings on Full House. “I am close to Jodie,” confirmed Candace. “We’ve been friends since she was 4 and I was 10. We’ve had our ups and downs, but she’ll always be a little sister to me.”

Beatrix (or Bea as her daddy is already calling her) is the second daughter for Jodie, but first with boyfriend Morty. Jodie already has a 2-year-old named girl name Zoie from her marriage to Cody Herpin.

Hooray for Jodie Sweetin! The former child star, who starred on Full House for eight years and has battled substance abuse in the past, gave birth to her second child, daughter Beatrix Carlin, on Aug 31. It’s her first child with boyfriend Morty Coyle, although Jodie has a 2-year-old daughter, Zoie, with her ex-husband, Cody Herpin.

“Jodie was amazing and is doing great,” Morty, who is already calling his daughter “Bea,” told People. “We are now the proud, excited parents of Miss Beatrix Carlin Sweetin Coyle.”

Beatrix emerged at a healthy 7 lbs., 4 oz. and is 19 inches long. “We can’t wait for her big sister Zoie to meet her,” the couple added.
