Will There Be A Dumb & Dumber Sequel?

“I am hoping that… We are in negotiations right now and I hope to have an announcement in the coming weeks. It is definitey on the verge! I’m excited!” an excited Peter Farrelly gushed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com during the Movie 43 premiere on January 23.

For those that may not be familiar, Dumb & Dumber is one of the most beloved comedies that IMDB so clearly defines as, “the cross-country adventures of two good-hearted but incredibly stupid friends.” And those that have seen the film will know that a sequel could be outstanding. So, news that they’re on the verge of filming is music to many ears!

Will There Be A ‘Movie 43′ Sequel?

Which leads us back to Movie 43, which Peter is very excited about as well as he is even talking about prequels to the film saying EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com, “I hope so, but this is a very experimental film so you don’t know how its going to do, but if this does work out I would like to make a prequel called Movie 42.”

Now it’s in your hands, as many people have wanted the Dumb & Dumber sequel for quite a long time, it takes people who want this type of comedy for it to happen. So for it to continue, you all must to hit the theaters this weekend and see Movie 43. So many stars and so many laughs, how could you go wrong!

You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet. On Wednesday, October 10, a Facebook page was activated claiming that Jim Carrey had died! This couldn’t be further from the truth, making Jim the latest celebrity to fall victim to a death hoax.

The Facebook page claimed that Jim, 50, passed away “due to a fatal plane crash.” E! News reports, however, that Jim’s rep has confirmed that the Ace Ventura actor is alive and well.

We’re glad this cruel prank isn’t true!

Breaking up is hard to do, but it’s even harder when there are children involved — just ask Jenny McCarthy! The former Playboy model, 39, recently revealed that Jim Carrey, her ex of five years, is refusing to have any contact with her 10-year-old son, Evan. Though Jim may have his reasons for staying away, a child psychiatrist tells HollywoodLife.com that he needs to man up and visit the boy!

“Jim needs to show Evan that he hasn’t rejected him,” Beverly Hills child psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman tells HollywoodLife.com. “I think Jim should agree to see Evan maybe once every four to six weeks. It could just be something small like a trip to McDonald’s. He needs to explain that he’s not his mom’s boyfriend anymore, but that he still likes him and that he’ll see him from time to time when he can.”

So as not to confuse Evan, who is autistic, Dr. Lieberman recommends that Jim, 50, keep reminding Evan during each visit that he misses him too, but that he’s not going to be his new daddy.

While it’s completely understandable that Evan would become attached to Jim after five years, many wonder if Jenny has ulterior motives for the reunion. “Could Jenny really be doing this as a way to get back with him?,” questioned Dr. Lieberman. “Maybe that’s what he’s afraid of.”

As we told you previously, Jenny has been dating NFL star Brian Urlacher since April and the two recently went public with their relationship.

“You have to wonder why Evan doesn’t seem to be getting attached to Brian. Why is he still asking about Jim if her mother has a new serious boyfriend,” notes Dr. Lieberman. “If Jim starts coming around to visit Evan, it might cause problems in her relationship.”

Things are getting heated between exes Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey, following Jenny’s accusations that Jim has abandoned her son Evan. And now, Jim is fighting back!

“I will always do what I believe is in the best interest of Evan’s well being,” Jim told Us Weekly. “It’s unfortunate that Evan’s privacy is not being considered. I love Evan very much and will miss him always.”

A friend of the comedian’s even says it’s wrong of Jenny to say she’s consistently reached out to her ex these past two years, in an attempt to reunite him with her ten-year-old son.

“She never reached out directly to him, so that’s a bit of a stretch for her to say,” the source revealed. “Sometimes it’s really too painful to still be involved with an ex’s child’s life, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about [Evan] or love him.”

Jenny McCarthy, 39, revealed in an interview with Howard Stern on June 4 that Jim Carrey is refusing to speak to her son!

After a five-year relationship, the former Playboy model and Jim called it quits in 2010. During that time, her son Evan established a strong bond with Jim. Now that the couple is no longer together, her son severely misses Jim in his life and Jenny has attempted to reach out to him. “I’ve tried to ask [Jim] numerous times [to see Evan], because my son still asks,” McCarthy revealed to Stern. Jenny has made many attempts to get Jim to talk to her son, but unfortunately Jim refuses to see Evan.

McCarthy hates that her son has to suffer because of her failed relationship. Jenny explains, “I still love him. I think you can love people from a distance and respect him. But as a mother, you just hope when you have a relationship with someone, it has nothing to do with the child when you break up.”

Because of the dramatic toll Jim’s absence has taken on Evan, Jenny reveals that Evan is seeking professional help. “He’s been in therapy. It’s a process,” she tells Stern, “he’s working on it.”

Despite the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her relationship with her ex, Jenny shared with Stern that she is “so much happier.” Could her blossoming romance with NFL star Brian Urlacher (which we EXCLUSIVELY told you about at Hollywood Life) be the source? We think so!

It’s official! Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will reprise their iconic Dumb and Dumber characters – Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, respectively — for a sequel to their 1994 comedy, ComingSoon.net is reporting. ”We’re getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September,” Peter Farrelly tells the site. ”It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done, and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.”

Though we’d all like to forget the movie’s 2003 prequel, Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Peter is very much aware of it.

“We did not do Dumb and Dumberer,” he insists. “That was a studio thing. So we’ve always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it.”

The question is: How do you feel about a sequel? I’m choosing to be cautiously optimistic because, while the mere idea of Jim and Jeff reuniting on the big screen is already putting a smile on my face, I’m all too familiar with bad sequels happening to great movies.

What did you think of Jane Carrey’s shaky performance during Hollywood Week?

We fell in love with Jim Carrey‘s daughter, Jane, when she auditioned in San Diego and had big hopes for her in Hollywood Week.

“My expectations of this week are that I’m going to stay here. I will be here the entire week, so get used to me!” the 24-year-old waitress and single mom joked before her audition.

Sadly, Jane choked on stage and wasn’t the same confident girl we saw during her first audition. Her face looked mortified as she finished her song and she tried to save herself with a cute smile. Unfortunately, it didn’t work and she was turned away.

We’re bummed Hollywood Week didn’t go well for Jane. We would have loved to see more of her…and maybe even a cameo by her dad later in the season!

The last person we expected to see auditioning on American Idol Jan. 22 was Jim Carrey‘s daughter, Jane Erin Carrey, and not only does she have an amazing voice, she’s super charismatic as well!
