Chrysler Super Bowl Commercial: ‘Halftime In America,’ Starring Clint Eastwood

As a filthy rich Hollywood icon, Clint Eastwood can’t relate to the average American — or even the average human, for that matter — but he still lent his gravelly baritone to Chrysler’s uplifting commercial about Americans remaining hopeful in a struggling economy. I didn’t really understand what he was talking about, but everybody told me it was inspirational, so here it is!

Volkswagen Super Bowl Ad: ‘The Dog Strikes Back’

Sometimes the best commercials are the ones that leave you thinking, “What the hell did I just watch?” Enter Volkswagen’s “Dog Strikes Back” ad, which began as the adorable story of a dog who just wanted to outrun a car — then suddenly turned into an intensely realistic Star Wars parody.

Honda Super Bowl Commercial: ‘Matthew’s Day Off,’ Starring Matthew Broderick

Arguably one of the most-hyped Super Bowl commercials of the year, this spot for Honda revived one of the most beloved slackers of ’80s cinema: Ferris Bueller! Matthew Broderick was just as monotone and fourth-wall-breaking as ever, and even though the commercial wasn’t funny — like, not at all — we’re total suckers for ’80s nostalgia.

Acura Super Bowl Ad: ‘Transactions,’ Starring Jerry Seinfeld

Speaking of nostalgia, remember Seinfeld? Of course you do, because Jerry Seinfeld is a national treasure. That’s why we loved Acura’s 2012 ad, which found the observational comedian doing what he does best: observing stuff! He even brought back the Soup Nazi — which, as we all know, is history’s most beloved Nazi.

Kia Optima Super Bowl Commercial: ‘A Dream Car For Real Life’

The idea of a tiny little man tip-toeing around your bedroom while you sleep is admittedly unsettling — unless he’s actually the Sand Man, and he’s making your wildest dreams come true! And seriously, what red-blooded American man doesn’t dream about cars, bikinis and Mötley Crüe? Terrorists and Communists, that’s who!

After Donald Trump wrote a scathing letter to the comedian for pulling out of his son Eric’s charity golf event — Bret steps in to save the day!

Bret Michaels, 48, the Poison frontman has just agreed to take Jerry’s place at the Fifth Annual Eric Trump Foundation Golf Invitational on Sept. 13 due to Jerry backing out. The funny man felt as though Donald Trump‘s bashing of President Obama has gone too far and he said he didn’t want to be associated with the potential Republican presidential candidate. But Bret, who won Donald’s Celebrity Apprentice reality show last year, has agreed to lend his support.

“Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is one of my favorite charities, so I’m honored to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event and help raise money for such an admirable cause,” Brett says. “We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs — and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric. Regardless of political views, the only thing that should matter is the lives of these children and their families, so I’m eager to offer my assistance to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in any way that I can.”

Donald’s son Eric Trump thanked Bret for stepping in: “Bret Michaels is an amazing family friend, father, philanthropist and real American for stepping up to the plate to keep the focus where it belongs – on terminally ill children at St. Jude Research Hospital and not political views. We cannot thank him enough for performing what will undoubtedly be the concert of a lifetime this Sept. 13 at Trump National Golf Club in Westchester.”

Donald was burning mad after learning Jerry had backed out of Eric’s event.

“I just learned you canceled a show for my son’s charity because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader,” Trump wrote in a letter that appeared in the NY Post‘s Page Six. “We don’t care that you broke your commitment, even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager clearly stated you are ‘truly a man of his word.’ What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, The Marriage Ref, even though I thought it was absolutely terrible … Despite its poor ratings, I didn’t cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did. You should be ashamed of yourself!”

But Jerry’s camp reveals why he felt so strongly about pulling out of the event, which is five months away.

“Jerry feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse,” his rep said in a statement. “He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, and is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude].”

You’ve got to hand it to Lady Gaga – she gives great interviews. In the upcoming Style Issue of Vanity Fair, Gaga comes clean (so to speak) about her sex life and drug use. Though she’s “terrified of heroin,” she does admit to doing “mostly cocaine.” She tells the mag, “I won’t lie; it’s occasional. And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year.” Wow! Does this come as a shock to you, BFFs?

As for her sex life, Gaga says she avoids intercourse in order to maintain her creativity. “I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone, they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina,” she tells the mag. Wow! We knew Gaga abstained from sex, but we never expected her reasoning to be THIS ridiculous! But that’s not all — Gaga also comes clean about her controversial behavior at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field earlier this year. (Pay attention, Jerry Seinfeld!)

Gaga admits that, yes, we she was drunk as a skunk when she showed up at Citi Field in June, wearing leather and flipping off onlookers. So is she sorry for her outrageous actions? Nope!

“My real fans know who I truly am,” she tells the mag. “My music and my performance is what really speaks.”
