Jerry Sandusky is now the one who is the prisoner. The former Penn State assistant football coach sexually abused boys for years and now that he is behind bars, his first victim wants to reveal his name — it’s 18-year-old Aaron Fisher.

“Saying sexual abuse has happened was hard,” he tells People. “But I wanted to help people see that it is better to come forward and tell somebody than to be silent.”

Aaron says he was abused for three years by Jerry. But he finally found the strength to tell his mom and his high school.

“I’m happy it’s over,” he says. “Make sure you don’t give up on doing the right thing, because for every time you stay quiet, there’s the person who did something to you, doing it to somebody else. Instead of being a victim, you can be a hero.”

Jerry Sandusky, who was found guilty on June 22 of 45 counts of sexual abuse, was sentenced on Oct. 9 to no less than 30 years in prison, meaning the 68-year-old will likely die in jail.

Jerry was found guilty of sexually abusing 10 young boys over a 15-year period, and met many of his victims through The Second Mile, a charity for Pennsylvania underprivileged and at-risk youth, which he founded in 1977. It closed in 2011 in the wake of the sex abuse allegations.

Jerry also served as assistant football coach at Penn State University under head coach Joe Paterno, who was fired in November 2011 for his alleged involvement in concealing Jerry’s sexual misconduct and failing to report him to authorities.

“I didn’t do these alleged disgusting acts,” Jerry said in a statement before Judge John Cleland imposed his sentence. “I speak today with hope in my heart for a brighter day…this is the worst loss of my life.”

“The tragedy of this crime is that it’s a story of betrayal,” Judge Cleland said in court. “The most obvious aspect is your betrayal of ten children… It is the ultimate tragedy. You concealed vices that led to your downfall.”

Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant football coach, is in Centre County Correctional Facility and on suicide watch after the jury convicted him of sexually abusing 10 boys over 15 years.

According to The Daily, the 68-year old is in the same cell specially reserved for sexual offenders or people with mental illnesses. Last December when the lights went out, inmates serenaded the disgraced coach with the famous line from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall.”

“At night, we were singing ‘Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone,’” one of the offenders, Josh, said in the report.

Josh, 22, added that everyone knew who Sandusky was because inmates had access to television and newspapers.

Jerry Sandusky, former assistant Penn State football coach, has been on trial for 48 counts of criminal child abuse, allegedly having abused 10 boys over a 15-year period while working at the university. And the jury has just returned with the verdict.

In a case that Jerry’s own lawyer referred to reporters as “daunting,” the jury has found Jerry guilty of 45 of the 48 counts.  The sentencing hasn’t been announced, but will be in three months.

As the jury continues to deliberate former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky‘s sexual abuse trial, a new report has surfaced that his adopted son Matt Sandusky was prepared to say he was sexually abused too.

 Matt had previously denied being abused but it now he seems willing to step forward.

His lawyers made the following statement: ”Matt Sandusky, one of Jerry Sandusky’s adopted children, asked us to confirm with you … that he was prepared to testify truthfully as a commonwealth witness,” said the statement issued by lawyers Andrew Shubin and Justine Andronici.

According to ABC News, Matt is one of six children Jerry and his wife adopted. Matt had supported his father even though his birth mother Debra Long gave testimony before a grand jury that her son was upset about staying with Jerry.

Matt attempted suicide several months after moving in with Jerry in 1995.

In addition, Matt’s wife got an order of protection on behalf of their children against Jerry.

Former assistant Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was called a “serial predatory pedophile” by Senior Deputy Attorney General Joseph McGettigan III. He said Sandusky used gifts and pageantry to lure and abuse boys from troubled homes.

“What you should do is come out and say to the defendant that he molested and abused and give them back their souls,” pleaded McGettigan to the jurors, according to an ABC News report. “I give them to you. Acknowledge and give them justice.”

“Find him guilty of everything,” he said.

Defense said Sandusky, 68, was a victim of accusations, that investigators had made false claims about a generous man whose charity gave them much-needed love.

“They went after him, and I submit to you they were going to get him hell or high water, even if they had to coach witnesses,” said his lawyer Joseph Amendola.

If convicted, Sandusky could spend the rest of his life in state prison. He is charged with 48 counts related to 10 boys over 15 years. The jury includes nine people with ties to Penn State University.
