Bio:
Jermaine Jones, born Jermaine Junior Jones, is a German-born soccer player who plays as defensive midfielder for Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş, as well as on the U.S. national team. He represented Germany at the U21 and senior level, and because he had never played a competitive match for his country of birth and because his father is American, he became eligible to play for the United States. He debuted on the U.S. national team in 2010, and played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Jermaine started his senior career in 1999, and played on a number of German teams before landing on his current — as of this writing — Turkish team. During the FIFA World Cup, he scored against Portugal, securing a 2-2 draw for the U.S. in the group stage.
