Sources tell HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Britney decided to leave ‘The X Factor’ and break up with Jason Trawick because they were both seen as dead ends.

Britney Spears endured quite the number of life changes on Jan. 11, when she announced that not only was she leaving The X Factor, but she was parting ways with her fiance Jason Trawick. Find out what drove Britney to make these drastic decisions.

Britney Spears Wants More Kids

A source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Jason got the engagement ring back from Britney. [She wants more kids and Jason doesn't] — Britney is a great mom and at 31, she wants to grow her family.”

Jason, who is ten years older than Britney at 41, is in “another place” and does not want to start a family, which was originally reported by TMZ, along with the fact that Britney returned her $90,000 engagement ring to Jason.

‘The X Factor’ Is A Sinking Ship — Britney Escaped Before Things Got Ugly

A source close to the show tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “Britney has career. She’s working on her 8th album and Vegas is wooing her — that’s why she decided to leave The X Factor, which is a sinking ship. Britney is still in high demand.”

This is the second time, in two seasons, that Simon Cowell has had to overhaul the judges panel on X Factor. Furthermore, ratings continued to decline this year after a lackluster first season.

What a tumultuous few days it’s been for Britney! A new report claims that she and fiancé Jason have called it quits, just as she’s chosen to leave ‘The X Factor’ after one season! Read on for all the details.

It looks as if 2013 is bringing about quite a few changes in the life of Britney Spears. After a report began circulating that the pop star would not be asked to return to The X Factor in the fall, Britney, 31, officially announced that she was leaving the show to focus on her music on Jan. 11. On the very same day, she also announced that she and fiancé Jason Trawick have called off their engagement!

In a statement released to HollywoodLife.com by her rep, Britney says, “Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.” Jason, 41, added, “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

Britney’s rep, Jeff Raymond, tells us, “Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement. As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends.”

Why Did Jason Trawick & Britney Spears Break Up?

A source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com that the relationship was running on fumes for quite some time now. The relationship was “done right when the deal for her to do The X Factor happened,” our insider says. “They had to keep it secret for the duration of the show and the holidays for the kids. They knew people would start questioning things when they weren’t seen together during Valentine’s Day, so doing the announcement today was perfect with everyone worrying about the [Golden] Globes. He was more of a manager then a lover, so with no sexual chemistry, it was down hill from there.”

Britney & Jason’s Relationship History

Jason and Britney were engaged in 2011. Before the two began dating in 2009, he was her agent. Eventually, he was made her co-conservator, along with her dad, Jamie Spears. TMZ’s sources tell them that Jason didn’t want to announce the end of the relationship until he was removed from the conservatorship. The website reports that lawyers for the conservatorship, along with Jamie, were in court on Jan. 11, so the process of removing Jason very well may have begun.

Britney’s Other Big Announcement

This news comes on the heels of Britney’s official statement announcing her decision to not return to The X Factor. “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio,” she said.”

“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

“Okay, that’s enough information, sweetie,” Britney, 30, interrupts as the reveal must have made her cringe a bit. “It was sweet, just say that.”

Britney and Jason got engaged in December and they allegedly plan to wed after Britney completes her commitments with the second season of X Factor.

Britney’s fiancé Jason is thrilled about her new ‘X Factor’ gig — but he worries that because of Britney’s track record, she may crack under all the pressure. A source close to Britney EXCLUSIVELY spoke with HollywoodLife.com about Jason’s concerns for Brit — find out why he’s so worried!

Britney Spears, 30, has had several derailments in her past, but now she’s back on top with a new fiancé and a new job as a judge on the X Factor. Will Britney be able to stay on top or will she snap under the stress of The X Factor?

Jason Trawick is extremely protective of Brit and even shares legal control over her with her father, so it’s no surprise that he has concerns about her busy X Factor schedule. Britney’s new gig as a judge has her travelling all over the country for auditions for the show. “He’s a little Britney-sick and misses her a lot now more that she’s traveling and working around the clock,” a source close to Brit says.

Jason is making an effort to keep their relationship alive. “He travels with her from time-to-time but he says it’s not the same as it used to be when they’d spend time at home with her two kids,” the source reveals. “He’s extremely supportive of her but just wants more quiet and alone time.”

His concern for Brit comes from his love for her. Britney has a history of crumbling under the pressure and Jason doesn’t want to see that happen to her with The X Factor. ”Jason is a very protective guy and knows how overwhelmed Britney can be and wants her not to get too overloaded with work and all,” the source says. “Britney’s much better now but there are still a few loose screws and everyone wants them to remain tight at all times.”

Britney Spears’s dad, Jamie, will now be a co-conservator along with her fiance, Jason Trawick. We’re glad it’s all working out!

Since they are about to be married, it makes complete sense for Britney Spears‘s fiance, Jason Trawick, to now be one of her conservators, or people who are legally responsible for her.

“The judge in her conservatorship case just signed off on giving him legal power to govern Britney’s affairs,” TMZ reported April 25.

Britney’s dad, Jamie, is reportedly “thrilled” about the decision, as he’s been carefully handling his daughter’s life since she was placed in his care years ago.

Britney, 30, is currently in negotiations to be a judge on The X Factor. We’re so glad things are really looking up for her!

“There are so many legal loop holes that they have to go through for the [conservatorship],” the source tells us. “That it may affect the X-Factor deal to be finalized. All parties are interested but the conservatorship may ruin everything.”
