Everyone loves Johnny’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ character except for two important people… his kids! But why?

According to CelebrityBabyScoop.com, Johnny Depp’s two kids — 12-year-old Lily-Rose and 9-year-old Jack — no longer laugh at the beloved pirate character!

“Captain Jack doesn’t do it for them anymore,” he said. “They’re so used to him now. I have to make them laugh with new characters.”

And he revealed a surprising source of inspiration for his characters! “Some of the characters I’ve done in the past were born literally out of playing Barbie with my daughter,” he said. “And if a new character works, I think, ‘OK, I may put him in a drawer and use him again later.”

Who knew Johnny used Lily-Rose’s stamp of approval so much!?! But luckily other kids still love Captain Jack. “Little kids like to hear Captain Jack,” he said. “But what really freaks them out is when you go from Jack to Willy Wonka. Suddenly they’re like, ‘I’m not sure about this guy,’” he laughed.

In ‘Vanity Fair,’ Johnny talked about why he takes on so many projects – it’s for his two kids!

Johnny Depp is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood – he earned $100 million last year – but in Vanity Fair, he calls the money “stupid.” Stupid money or not, is it a good idea to give that much to his children Lily-Rose and Jack?

“Basically, if they’re going to pay me the stupid money right now, I’m going to take it,” the mega-grossing Pirates of the Caribbean star tells the magazine. “I have to. I mean, it’s not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it’s for my kids. It’s ridiculous, yeah, yeah. But ultimately is it for me? No. No. It’s for the kids.”

But if Johnny leaves his kids millions of dollars, will there be any incentive for them to work hard? Clinical psychologist Dr. Mary Lamia, PhD, told HollyBaby.com that it all depends on how Johnny and Vanessa Paradis raise their children. “It’s not about how much money they end up inheriting, it’s about the values the parents instill in the children,” she says.

Just when you thought you couldn’t fall more in love with Johnny Depp, he makes a comment about being a dad. The Rango star says his two wonderful kids Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8, with long-time love Vanessa Paradis, helped him discover the true meaning of life.

“The birth of my daughter, my first kid, was the lifting of a veil,” he explains to Access Hollywood, referring to Lily-Rose. “It was like having this fog removed from your eyes… And suddenly you could see things clearly in great focus.” It is wonderful to hear how much fatherhood means to Johnny.

But although he’s found this clarity within his home life, Johnny still struggles to find it within his career. “In terms of being a dad, in terms of being a pop, that’s exactly who I am,” he says. “But, in the context of the world that I work in, I’m still sort of figuring it out I guess.”

Johnny: “I worship my kids.” What an awesome dad!

Johnny has never been one to embrace the Hollywood hype and that’s why he is still one of the most intriguing actors out there. His main priority is family.

The superstar actor, 47, who already has two children — Lily Rose is 11 and Jack is 8 — with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, 38, found himself feeling “broody” while in Venice shooting his new thriller, The Tourist. The reason? Seeing co-star Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt and the way they handled their six kids, Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 4, and two-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. We have to admit that when we see Brad holding his twins, we feel the same way!

“Well, when you see Brad with a little baby, you get a little broody, clucky,” he told the British TV show Daybreak, before adding that he he thinks he’ll hold off for a while on having another child. “It’s amazing the way they handle it [having six kids]. I mean, they’re both really good parents, you know each one [child] is doing their own thing and having a ball. Brad took them all out to do various things in Venice while we were shooting. It was pretty amazing to see.”

The star of the new film The Tourist says he bonded with co-star Angelina Jolie over a glass of wine while their kids played video games.

He plays larger than life characters like Captain Jack Sparrow, but Johnny Depp is a soft-spoken guy in real life. The 47-year-old loves nothing better than coming home from work and settling down on the sofa with his kids, Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8. “We sit in front of the TV and giggle and watch Family Guy,” he tells HollyBaby. Can you believe it? We learned a lot about Johhny from this sweet, candid interview. Read on to learn more about his life away from the cameras and at home as a dad.

How did you meet Angelina for the first time?
We got together at my house. Me. Vanessa [Paradis, Johnny's partner and the mother of his two children]. Angie. Brad [Pitt]. Our boys played video games. We drank wine and just talked. Angie and I started out by bonding as parents. My kids think I have a normal job, like working construction.

Are you really such a normal guy?
I go to work and then come home. We sit in front of the TV and giggle and watch Family Guy.

How has fatherhood changed your life?
It didn’t change my life. It made my life. My kids are amazing. Even when they were babies I was learning from them. Now, my daughter is 11 and Jack is 8. We get into these pretty profound conversations. My kids ask questions that leave my head spinning. They’ve absolutely added just pureness to my life. Just pure joy. I can’t say I had that prior to having children.

What do they think you and Vanessa do for a living? Do they know you’re a big star?
No, they think I go out and do a job like working construction. It’s like, “Daddy’s gone and now he’s home again.” When I’m home, we shut out the rest of the world and we’re just a regular family making dinner and watching movies. It’s just the best fun in the world.

Are you honest with your kids about your fame?
I’ve never hid anything from my kids. Vanessa and I try to keep them out of the public eye as much as possible. But the paparazzi still sneak up on us. They get us. And we deal with it. But we never lie to our kids. We never tried to make it any different than just a game. There are those funny people with the cameras again! You just deal with it.

Do your kids handle your fame well? It must be tough when everyone wants a piece of you.
They’re very good about sharing… even me with people who come up to us. My kids have good heads on their shoulders and they understand that Daddy is still doing his job. It’s just like if I was a writer and someone asked a question. I tell them that it’s nice that so many people think Daddy does a good job. It’s cool because it tells them then that it’s important to do a good job. I tell them to do what you love. But I also show that once I’m at home, it’s about the family.

How did you meet Vanessa and know she was the one you wanted to be with and have children with some day?
I was in the lobby of a restaurant and I just saw her back from across the room. Suddenly, she turned in this slow-motion way and looked at me. All I could see were these beautiful eyes. Then she walked up to me and said hello. She said, “Do you remember me?” I did because we met several years ago. In that moment, I knew I was caught.

How do you manage fatherhood and stardom?
When I’m working, she comes with me and we take the kids. When she’s working, I go with her and the kids.

How did parenthood change you as an artist?
Being a parent changed everything for me. Fatherhood has revealed me. It has given me great perspective and a true purpose in life. I’m also quite calm. As an actor, I make choices of films that I can be proud of well into the future and will make my family proud.

Do your kids watch your films?
They love Pirates and Willy Wonka. Obviously, they’re not watching The Libertine.
