Madeleine McCann Spotted In India — Has The Missing Little Girl Been Found?

Investigators have flown to India to track down a girl matching Maddie’s description and run a DNA test to discover if they have finally found the missing child.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from her parents’ vacation apartment in Portugal in May 2007, just days before her fourth birthday. Her parents Gerry and Kate McCann have never given up faith that they’ll find their daughter alive and have worked tirelessly over the last four years on a worldwide campaign to spread the word about missing Maddie. This sighting must give them fresh hope!According to the Chandigarh Tribune newspaper, a British tourist spotted the girl in the town of Leh. The woman was so convinced she had found Madeleine, she alerted other tourists and American visitor even tried to snatch the girl from the Belgian man and French woman who insisted they were her parents. The police intervened and made copies of the couple’s passports so they could be traced.

Indian police are now discussing how to proceed with the investigation with British authorities and investigators hired by the McCanns.

A spokesperson for Maddie’s parents explains, “Our private investigators are aware of the reports from India over the weekend about a possible sighting of Madeleine.”

“We are liaising with the Indian authorities over the incident and await the results of the DNA test.”

The sighting comes just two months after the fourth anniversary of Maddie’s disappearance, which was marked by the release of a book written by Kate, called Madeleine, Our Daughter’s Disappearance And The Continuing Search For Her.

The same month British Prime Minister David Cameron reopened the investigation into her disappearance, hoping for a “new perspective” to the case.

Let’s hope something results from this sighting and Maddie is finally found!

“I really like kids,” Russell Brand admitted during an appearance on Britian’s This Morning show. The actor/comedian has been busy reforming his bad boy ways since meeting Katy Perry last year. Now that they couple is officially husband and wife after tying the knot in India on Saturday (Oct. 23), they’re thinking about the day in the not too distant future when there are little baby Brands running around the house. “I don’t know when I’ll have children, you know, because Katy is almost 26 and we both work a lot of the time, but when I’m around other people’s children I go for it and I’m up for playing.” Well, based on what Katy told guests at their wedding, that day might be coming along sooner than he thinks!

There’s still time to dress your daughter up like Katy for Halloween!

Word is that Katy told her friends at the wedding that she would “start trying for a baby tonight.” Apparently, a fortune telling parrot predicted that she’d have a bun in the oven soon, so she doesn’t seen any point in postponing their baby-making. It’s a good thing, then, that Katy is convinced that Russell will be a perfect parent. “In marriage, when you’re picking a partner, one of the things to keep in mind is ‘Will he be a good baby daddy?’ And he’ll be perfect,” says Katy.

And of course, there’s no one he’d want to start a family with more than his pop star wife. “I found someone and I get on really well with her. I find it easy,” says the 35-year-old about their relationship.

We certainly wish these newlyweds the best of luck! With all this baby talk, they could come home from their honeymoon in the Maldives with a super-special souvenir — there may just be a baby Brand by next summer!

Forget saving one date…Katy and Russell want their guests to devote a WEEK to their upcoming nuptials!

After catching a glimpse of Katy Perry and Russell Brand‘s fancy ‘Save the Week’ card, we want an invite to this wedding now more than ever. Not only is it out of this country, this is one party that will last for at least seven days. Word.

If you couldn’t guess the wedding theme already, take a look at this Indian-inspired envelope decorated with a henna-tattooed hand wearing an engagement ring. The inside card reads as follows: “Save the week for the wedding of Katy and Russell, October 18th-25th, 2010. You will need a passport and will be contacted soon with more information.”

Mysterious? Not so much. Rihanna has already leaked the news that her BFF is tying the knot in India, the same place the 25-year-old pop star and Russell, 34, got engaged over the holidays. Knowing Katy, she’s probably going to eschew a traditional wedding dress for a sari!

The newly engaged rocker and comedian celebrated their upcoming vows with an intimate (and way traditional) cocktail party!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue — despite being two of the edgiest stars we know, newly engaged rocker Katy Perry and British comedian Russell Brand celebrated their recent wedding proposals in the most traditional of ways Jan. 20 with an under-the-radar, totally romantic engagement party at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills.

Russell, 34, proposed to his girlfriend, Katy, 25, in India over the holidays after dating for approximately three months, and about 50 guests—including family, like Katy’s mom, Mary Hudson, and friends—threw them a celebratory cocktail party complete with drinks and cake, plus decorations like candles and red roses, reports People.

A source at the up-scale restaurant tells HollywoodLife.com the celebration was actually just a dinner with the couple and not, in fact, an engagement party.

Regardless, these two keep surprising us left and right with how normal they actually are all the time! Talk about a HollyWho-Knew?!

Lindsay Lohan recently returned from a trip to India, where she met with poverty-stricken women and children who have been victims of sex trafficking. Her interviews were for a BBC documentary titled Lindsay Lohan in India, and a new clip has just been released online. “The whole situation is heartbreaking because the parents aren’t necessary in the wrong and the children are obviously not in the wrong,” she says in the clip. “The traffickers are the ones in the wrong because they know what they’re doing.”

Katy Perry, Are You Still Reminiscing about Your Picturesque Proposal in India?

Wouldn’t you want to relive that magical moment when your guy popped the big question … especially if it was during an exotic vacation?

One week after Russell Brand, 34, and Katy Perry, 25, got engaged, the pop star is still having tweet dreams about how her guy got down on one knee. But let’s just say that Russell’s romantic proposal was also a little, shall we say, esoteric — after all, there were elephants involved!

“Peacocks on rooftops, parrots on telephone lines, camels in the streets, elephants on the horizon,” Katy tweeted Jan. 7, most likely referring to the elephant she and Russ rode as they watched fireworks light up the New Year’s Eve sky in India. (Two days early on Dec. 29, they visited the famous Taj Mahal. Check out Katy’s twitpic above!)

But these two weren’t just ringing in the New Year; they had an even better reason to celebrate: Russell pulled off a proposal straight out of one of those fairytales and Katy, well, she scored a nice piece of bling and a very chivalrous husband-to-be!

Turns out Russell reportedly bought his fiancée a £600 traditional Indian dress for the special night, and then asked the five-star luxury hotel in Jaipur, India where they were staying, to set up a candle-lit garden dinner on Dec. 31.

After arriving via horse and carriage and then enjoying a moon-lit dinner and a fireworks display on the back of an elephant, Russell asked Katy to marry him by hiding the bling in a bouquet of flowers.

Can you imagine a more romantic proposal? We didn’t know you had it in you, Russell!

Can Lindsay Lohan Really Help Young Girls in India?

Lindsay Lohan, we really applaud your efforts. After a trying year, you’ve (very recently) come to realize that there is more to life than bed and bar hopping. Reports came out today that you are on your way to India to film a documentary with the BBC about child trafficking and children in poverty.

But is Lindsay really the best person to be shedding light on these issues? She was just featured half-naked, simulating sex in a photo spread for Muse magazine, shown walking home from Jason Segel‘s apartment early in the morning in LA, and has battled a slew of drug and alcohol related problems in the past!

And some people with strong ties to Indian culture don’t want Lindsay to be their spokeswoman!

One 27-year-old woman of Indian descent, who lives in New York, wonders, “What the heck? I don’t particularly think Lindsay Lohan is a good spokesperson for this cause. India is a country where a lot of what is valued by people like Lindsay Lohan and Hollywood is not valued there. The image she has of being a party girl [goes against] the morals of India. Then again, anyone who wants to shed light on the issues … that’s a good thing.”

Bu Sonia Ossorio, President of the National Organization for Women in New York City, disagrees. ”So many young girls and women are forced into being sex slaves,” she says. ”I commend Lindsay for going over there to do whatever she can do.” Ossorio doesn’t think Lindsay will be a bad role model, insisting, “She will only bring more attention to this [and] raise people’s awareness of it.
