Hansel And Gretel star Jeremy Renner stopped by the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at The 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards to help raise money for charity on Saturday. The father-to-be scooped up one-year membership to Crunch and a private island getaway from Caribbean Living Magazine! And just as Jeremy enjoyed a big spoonful of Yoplait Greek 100, host Andy Samberg wrapped the show by shouting “I’ll meet you in the parking lot Jeremy Renner!” He laughed hysterically [with a full mouth] and yelled out “Oh, I will see him in the parking lot!!!”

Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington and BFF/mom Valerie hit up the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday in style. The duo was overheard telling guests that they are “extremely close” and share a love for fashion – borrowing each other’s clothes constantly. When asked what she would be wearing to the Oscars on Sunday, Washington played coy but did pick up one of the newest bras from Fashion Forms, a backless dress must-have. The actress is known for her bold fashion choices and didn’t disappoint with her stunning Giambattista Valli Couture graphic print dress on the red carpet before the award show.

The Vampire Diaries starlet, Nina Dobrev, stopped by the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at The 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday accompanied by her Perks of Being a Wallflower director Stephen Chbosky, who picked up the award for Best First Feature. The Canadian beauty entered the lounge in a skin-tight white dress and ran straight over to grab some Fashion Forms strapless bras. Dobrev was overheard telling a friend that her “chest and legs” are her “best features,” and that she feels most confident in “a tiny mini-dress”. Later, when asked about her beauty secrets at the GKhair beauty bar, Nina mentioned that she’s “constantly in bed” and that “sleep is the key to a healthy beauty regimen”. Spending all that time under the sheets with love Ian Smolderhalder truly does a body good! Before heading out, she snagged a pair of Jabra Vox headphones to help her “relax on the plane”.

The talented pint-sized Beasts of the Southern Wild actress, Quvenzhané Wallis, enjoyed spending time at the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at The 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards alongside her mother, Qulyndreia Wallis on Saturday. The Louisiana native touched up her hair with GKhair’s Mini-Iron and was overheard saying, “Mama! I need this”. Later, the adorable youngster spotted the Fashion Forms lingerie and immediately covered her eyes saying, “Can’t look at those yet…mine are itty bitty”. Seems like the on-screen ‘brave beast’ may not be looking to grow up too fast. Her mother laughed and whisked her away to the show where she was both a Presenter and Nominee, that’s pretty adult to us!

Silver Linings Playbook star Chris Tucker had guests laughing hysterically over his humorous antics at the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at The 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday. Tucker joked with guests that he wanted to make sure all the goodies were free, he wouldn’t want to get into any trouble, but now that he’s “made it” the up and coming actor can expect even more perks to come! Tucker was spotted leaving with Jabra headphones, the new Sookbox which was his favorite thing in the Lounge, along with massive quantities of Yoplait Greek 100, yelling “lay off me… I’m starving!” Earlier, when asked about his co-stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, he laughed and said, “I keep those two in line! Pun intended…”

Rapper Common made an appearance at the Mattel Games Gift Lounge backstage at The 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, and seemed to have nothing but ladies on his mind. Guests overheard the single musician talking about his recent presenting gig at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon, and how he has developed quite an obsession for “strong females.” This comes as no surprise based on his dating track record with tennis superstar Serena Williams – he did after all write a song about God being a woman. After flirting with several ladies, he proceeded to talk with friends about working on a new album while picking up some silk sheets from Manito Linens, candles from Larissa Love Cosmetics and Jabra Solemate speakers… perhaps he was planning for a night in to “make music” with a special someone?

Jennifer Lawrence migrated to Santa Monica Beach on February 23 for the Independent Spirit Awards, where independent films were celebrated, one day before the Oscars! While most stars went a more casual route when deciding what to wear, Jennifer wore a black gown, showing lots of skin, and the hint of sideboob.

Jennifer, 22, showed off a lot of skin in her black Lanvin, knee-length gown, from her go-to French fashion house. If this were the Grammys, she might be banned for showing off a hint of sideboob! We always love what Jennifer wears on the carpet, though.

Jennifer added a crystal choker and a knotted belt to her look. She looked fantastic!

Other Hotties On The Red Carpet

Nina Dobrev looked oh so sexy in a long white shirt and boy shorts. Her white shirt was covered in gold textured pieces, and was accessorized by a sleek gold belt.

Tyler Hoechlin, the hottie from Teen Wolf, looked dapper in a navy/black suit. Another hunk on the carpet, Bradley Cooper, went for a more casual look in a light grey suit, an unbuttoned dress-shirt and suede shoes. He finished his look with a sexy pair of sunglasses.

The case of Oscar Pistorius, the Paralympic runner who’s been charged with the premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in South Africa, isn’t exactly a laughing matter. So, what’s with 2013 Independent Spirit Awards host Andy Samberg cracking jokes about it during his opening monologue?

During his opening bit, the former SNL host, 34, cracked a joke about the 26-year-old runner, who was granted bail on Feb. 22, saying, “There’s been a lot of problems with this investigation, I think he’s going to walk.” The joke, which poked fun at Oscar’s missing limbs, earned laughs from the audience, which prompted another wisecrack from Andy. “I’m going to bring back this joke later. I think it’s got legs.”

While he’s not mocking the murder itself, we have to wonder whether it was too soon to joke about anything related the situation, especially with the case still in South African court.

The Case Against Oscar — Falling Apart?

The case against Oscar has been falling apart in recent days. During the bail hearing, it was revealed that the former lead investigator on the case, Hilton Botha, is being charged with the attempted murder of seven people himself! On top of that, he’s admitted to negligent behavior during the process of his investigation.

“The poor quality of evidence presented by chief investigating officer Botha exposed disastrous shortcomings in the state’s case,” said Oscar’s defense attorney, Barry Roux.

Oscar Out On Bail

On the fourth day of the bail hearing, Magistrate Desmond Nair granted Oscar release. He said: “The issue before me is whether this accused, being who is and the assets he has [here], would seek to duck and dive all over the world.” He concluded, “I cannot find that he is a flight risk. The accused has made a case to be released on bail. I appreciate that a person is dead, but I don’t think that is enough.”

Jennifer Lawrence is the toast of the town as the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards announced on November 27 its nominees and Jen, along with her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Copper, are both up for acting awards!

While Jen is the favorite to win in her category, her film and Moonrise Kingdom are leading all hopefuls with five nods apiece.

It’s basically a clean sweep as Silver Linings amazingly snatched nods in all five major categories: Best Feature, Best Male Lead (Bradley), Best Female Lead (Jennifer), Best Director (David O. Russell) and Best Screenplay.

The independent film will compete for Best Feature against Moonrise Kingdom, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Bernie and Keep the Lights On.

The nomination list also included some of Hollywood’s big name actors and actresses: Rashida Jones, along with co-writer Will McCormack, each earned screenplay nods for Celeste and Jesse Forever; Helen Hunt is in the competition and received a nod for Best Supporting Female for her work in The Sessions; and Bruce Willis joins in the race with a Best Supporting Male nod for his on screen work in Moonrise Kingdom.

The Independent Spirit Awards, which will air Saturday, February 23 on IFC at 10pm ET/PT, are more or less considered to be a much hipper, low-key awards show compared to the Oscars.

Seth Rogen hosted the 27th annual Independent Spirit Awards on Feb. 25 in Santa Monica, and he used his opening monologue as an opportunity to attack violent singer Chris Brown!

Seth, 29, first went after disgraced former Oscar producer Brett Ratner, whose homophobic remarks lost him the job for the 2012 ceremony. Then the harsh comments about Chris, 22, began.

“I honestly bet, though, that Brett Ratner really wishes he was organizing the Grammys, because they seem much more forgiving than the Oscars altogether,” he said. “Seriously, if you say a few hateful things, they don’t let you within 100 feet of the Oscars. You could literally beat the s–t out of a nominee and they ask you to perform twice at the Grammys.”
