Chloe Moretz has big plans for her future. The 14-year-old Hugo actress wants to go to college, but not just any old school. Chloe reveals to HollywoodLife.com that she hopes to go to an Ivy League university just like Julia Stiles, Natalie Portman, and Claire Danes.

“I’m planning to go to Columbia [University],” Chloe admitted to us at the National Board of Review Awards Gala at Cipriani in NYC on Jan. 10.

Chloe wants to broaden her education. “I would like to get a college degree because I really focus on being smart, not just an actress,” she explained. “I want to be able to talk to people and not just be like, ‘Oh my god, I’m an actress.’”

She already knows what she plans to study. “I want to major in psychology and I want to minor in art history,” she admitted.

But even though Chloe wants to get a college degree, she never wants to stop acting. “I don’t think I want to take a step away,” she said. “I want to just look into something that I don’t have to make a career. You know? Just go to college because I want to and not have to.”

It’s not everyday that a film manages to employ contemporary techniques while also showcasing classic cinematic principals — and that’s exactly why Martin Scorcese‘s Hugo received the Best Film and Best Director honors from the National Board of Review. “It’s a such a personal film to [Scorcese], and it’s just so thrilling,” NBR President Annie Schulhof tells HollywoodLife.com of the thought process behind the board’s decision. “It brings film history to a new generation of filmgoers. We’re honoring our film past and celebrating it by bringing it forward.”

For those of you who haven’t gotten a chance to see Hugo yet — and you really should — it tells the story of a young boy named Hugo (Asa Butterfield), whose relationships with his late father and best friend are revealed to have strong, moving connections to the works of French filmmaker Georges Méliès.

Schulhof believes that, regardless of a moviegoer’s depth of knowledge about Méliès’ work, everyone can appreciate Hugo on their own level.

Another inclusion on the NBR’s list that fascinated us was Shailene Woodley‘s Best Supporting Actress win for her role in The Descendants. We all know her as plucky teen mom Amy Juergens on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager – but as far as her understated acting prowess, Schulhof believes Shailene’s secret is officially out.

“George Clooney is just wonderful in this film — he’s really the heart and soul — and [Shailene] holds her own on the screen with him,” Schulhof notes. “It’s a very special relationship that you’re getting to see on screen. I’m assuming that if she’s been laying low, the cover is broken.”

In preparation for his latest film, Hugo, Martin Scorsese celebrates some of his most famed films and creates a portfolio recasting scenes in this month’s Harper’s Bazaar. Chloe Moretz serves as from the 1976 film Taxi Driver — and she looks just like Jodie Foster!

Showing off a ton of skin in a red, white and black floral print crop top and red hot pants, Chloe gave famous Taxi Driver character, Iris, a vamped up, hot and edgy look. The youngster played the part well with her big, bountiful curls, wide brimmed hat and red lips.

That’s not the only scene they recreated — in fact, the high-fashion mag teamed up with iconic director Martin Scorsese to create a portfolio recasting scenes from some of his most memorable movies.

As easily as Chloe imitates Jodie, we’re sure her latest big screen debut in Hugo, will be worth while! We can’t wait to see her in so many great looks.

Martin Scorsese’s upcoming adventure film stars Asa Butterfield is a train ride you won’t want to miss!

Director Martin Scorsese is putting his all into the 3-D film trend with his upcoming Hugo, a movie about an orphan forced to live in a Paris train station. It’s full of A-listers!

The adorable Asa Butterfield, who you may know from films like  The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, scored the lead role in Hugo opposite up-and-coming star Chloe Moretz.

The roster also includes Jude Law, Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Hugo will be out in theaters Nov. 23, 2011 — but until then, get hooked on the trailer!
