Hines Ward is a star on the football field as the wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a ballroom wonder on Dancing With The Stars, but he was just picked up by police for driving drunk!

Hines, 35, was picked up early on July 9 for driving under the influence, TMZ reports. He was held on $1,000 bond in Dekalb County, GA and was released shortly after posting the money.

Hines Ward beat Kirstie Alley and Chelsea Kane on the finale of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ May 24! Were YOU happy with the outcome?

What has felt like the most wholesome and scandal-free season in Dancing with the Stars‘s history came to an anti-climatic close May 24. For a second we thought the under dogs — Kirstie Alley and Chelsea Kane — had a shot at winning the Mirror Ball trophy, but we were sadly mistaken.

Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward took home the grand prize — and we can’t say we were surprised. An early favorite, Hines was consistently strong on the dance floor and always held his own in popularity. We probably would be less bitter about the season’s ending if the finale hadn’t taken a painful, long two hours.

For 120 minutes, we were subjected to forced montages, excessive packages and random performances. Nothing was even decided an hour and a half into the show! Thankfully, we’ve been conditioned throughout the season to sit through cheesy, mindless programming. The finale was essentially the marathon to our training — and we’re proud to say we got through it, corny jokes and all.

Ralph Macchio might be a little late with his complaints, but he’s speaking out nonetheless. The 49-year-old Karate Kid actor was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars May 17, but he doesn’t think his low scores the past few weeks have been fair.

“At one point I regretted not saying certain things when I heard certain criticism from the judges. But a week or two ago I said, ‘You know, I should speak up a little more,’ because it was becoming evident that the playing field isn’t completely level,” Ralph told E! News after the results show, adding, “But I held back and I still think it was the right thing by taking the high road and not saying anything.”

We’ve loved watching Ralph charm America with his positive personality and goofy smile, so it’s weird to hear anything but cheerful comments from his mouth. That said, the judges did give him more criticism than any other contestants…even when he seemed like a stronger dancer.

As Dancing with the Stars season 12 comes to an end, we’re not sure who we’d peg as the winner. Kirstie Alley is hysterical and has a large fan base and Chelsea Kane is adorable and is objectively the best dancer of the group. However, Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward has the talent AND the voters, which means odds might be in his favor.

As the competition gets stiffer, entertainment value alone isn’t going to keep Kirstie Alley in the competition. She had the worst scores out of everyone May 2!

If Kirstie Alley gets kicked off Dancing with the Stars May 3, I’m going to lose interest in the competition all together. Although this season has been jam packed with talent, there  hasn’t been one train wreck or any drama — and I’m bored. That said, the only person who keeps me sitting through the show day in and day out is Kirstie. She’s genuine…she’s dramatic…and most importantly, she’s a riot. Unfortunately, the 60-year-old actress didn’t bring it enough May 2 to earn high scores from the judges. 

Kirstie Alley: Kirstie and Maks’s jive to “La Bamba” was adorable! Being an actress, Kirstie pulls off the entertainment aspect of her dances every single week. However, technically speaking, her dancing leaves much to be desired… 30/40

Ralph Macchio: Ralph and Karina’s quick step was fantastic! After weeks of lagging and dropping the ball (compared to their first weeks), this couple stepped up to the plate and killed it. It reminded me of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. 36/40

Hines Ward: Hines and Kym danced the tango and maintained their high placement on the leader board. If Hines stays consistently strong, I think he’ll go all the way until the end. 36/40

Chelsea Kane: Chelsea and Mark’s paso doble was intense, creative and firey. I thought it was entertaining and couldn’t tell at all Chelsea isn’t a pro-dancer…she was that good. The audience agreed with me (and gave them a standing ovation), but the judges weren’t sold. 34/40

Kendra Wilkinson: Kendra and Louis danced the tango tonight and even though the judges were complimentary, I felt she lacked gracefulness. Her moves seemed stiff and slowed. 31/40

Romeo: Romeo and Chelsie have slid through the competition by being cute and entertaining, but the judges weren’t having it tonight. They told Romeo he has to focus on his technique and footwork if he’s going to make it further…yiikes. 30/40

‘Dancing With The Stars’ kicked off with Kendra Wilkinson, Wendy Williams, Romeo, Kirstie Alley and the night’s big winner — Ralph Macchio! Do you think the judges got it right?

Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars stepped off  with plot twists and unexpected turns. Some of the most-anticipated stars – like Wendy Williams — didn’t quite live up to the hype and hopes we had for them. Other celebs  – like Romeo and Ralph Macchio surprised us with their moves.

The judges said Ralph’s foxtrot put the Karate Kid at the head of the class for now. But Kirstie Alley’s jaw-dropping cha-cha made her a close second. And who knew Disney star Chelsea Kane and  NFL star Hines Ward could master such technique?

Kendra, as expected, had the audience with her for her cha-cha but the judges were not as supportive. But we think she’ll be in it to the end!

ABC announced the competitors of the all-new Dancing With The Stars season 12 on Feb 28! Sugar Ray Leonard, Chelsea Kane, the original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio, Petra Nemcova, Lil’ Romeo, Kendra Wilkinson, Hines Ward, Chris Jericho, Kirstie Alley, Wendy Williams and Mike Catherwood are the 11 stars that will be tearing up the dance floor!

So what will the first week be like for this incredible cast? “We’re just here trying not to fall on our butts the first week,” Kristie laughed.
