Superman turns the big 7-5 today, and we’re happy to confirm that the boy in blue looks better than ever! The extended Man Of Steel trailer hit the web earlier this week, and it’s safe to say Henry Cavill‘s take on the classic hero will soon wash the bad taste of Superman Returns out of our mouths for good. Along with mind-blowing action scenes, the full trailer also gives us our first look at the playful relationship between Superman and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) — and who doesn’t love that?

Man of Steel isn’t due out in theaters until the summer of 2013, but thanks to the first full-length trailer of Zack Snyder‘s new movie, we have a feeling it’ll be worth the wait. Not only are we given many new and exciting views of Henry Cavill in full Superman garb — there’s a particularly excellent shot of him emerging from a burning room that we’ve got on repeat — but it also provides a first glimpse at many of the faces we’ve been dying to see.

Here’s a quick breakdown of some of the best/newest stuff revealed in the trailer:

0:50 — Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent

1:47 — Russell Crowe as Jor-El

1:48 — That “burning room” scene I mentioned earlier

1:52 — Michael Shannon as General Zod

2:00 — Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy

2:11 — Amy Adams as Lois Lane

Needless to say, Man of Steel looks like a major improvement on the Superman franchise’s previous effort, 2006′s Superman Returns. While Brandon Routh certainly looked the part, we have a feeling audiences — and critics — are immediately going to warm up to British-born Henry’s turn as the blue blur.

Superman may be more powerful than a locomotive, but in this brand-new poster for The Man of Steel, we see Henry Cavill in a far more vulnerable state. Why (and how) is the boy in blue also in handcuffs? That’s a good question; unfortunately, we might have to wait until the movie’s June 14 release.

Man Of Steel also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as General Zod.

A source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that at a recent press event, Freida Pinto was overheard professing her love for Votre Vu’s Amour d’Ore, a multipurpose oil that can be used on face, body and hair. Amy will be enchanting moviegoers as the classic comic heroine!

Amy Adams is set to play leading lady Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman film, director Zack Snyder tells the Los Angeles Times.

Many actresses auditioned, but Zack says Amy, 36, was the “perfect fit” for the role. She represents the “strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man — even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound,” he said.

No word yet on when filming will start, or even what the title will be. But we do know that Henry Cavill will star as Clark Kent, and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will play Clark’s parents.

This news comes on the heels of another major comic book casting, as Anne Hathaway was recently selected to play Catwoman in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.

We’ve seen him play a vampire, but Kellan’s next role will be one of heavenly proportions!

Everybody knows Kellan Lutz looks like a Greek god — and now he’ll have the resume to prove it! Kellan has just been cast as Poseidon, the god of the sea, in the upcoming action flick War of the Gods, Variety is reporting. Not to be confused with Clash of the Titans (though it probably will be since it sounds like the exact same movie), War of the Gods tells the story of a young warrior who teams up with the gods of Mount Olympus in order to battle the legendary Titans.
