In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Sir Paul McCartney makes a shocking announcement — After smoking marijuana since the 1960s, he’s finally giving it up for good! His 8-year-old daughter Beatrice inspired him to stop. “I smoked my share,” he says. “When you’re bringing up a youngster, your sense of responsibility does kick in, if you’re lucky, at some point.”

Sir Paul has gotten into trouble so many times over the years for his drug use, but he kept up with the habit until now. “Enough’s enough — you just don’t seem to think it’s necessary,” he explains.

Beatrice has also inspired the musician to make his tours shorter and schedule around his custody arrangement with ex Heather Mills. “What we do now is events and selective dates,” he says. “Because of my custody situation, I can only do that. At first, we thought ‘Oh, God, is this going to be a problem?’ and it’s actually turned out to be some kind of a blessing.”

We’re so glad Paul is  finally giving up the drugs!

The singer and his girlfriend are taking the plunge as Paul pops the question to his NYC based girlfriend!

It seems that despite his messy divorce from ex-wife Heather Mills, Paul McCartney has not soured on marriage — he’s engaged to girlfriend Nancy Shevell! “Nancy and Paul are getting married,” a source close to Nancy told the magazine. “Ring and all – very exciting.” Congratulations!

Paul, 68, and Nancy, 51, began dating in the summer of 2007 when they met at a party in the Hamptons. The duo grew close quickly as Paul finalized his divorce from Heather and, unlike with Heather, Paul’s children are all fans of Nancy! A source close to Paul’s daughter Stella says the designer is “thrilled for her father.”

Nancy is a NYC based businesswoman and philanthropist. According to the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) website, “Nancy Shevell is vice president, Administration, of New England Motor Freight, Inc. (NEMF) and the Shevell Group of Companies.”

Hopefully Paul will get a pre-nup after shelling out an rumored $50 million following his divorce from Heather.

This will be the third marriage for Paul and the second for Nancy. The two were spotted earlier this week at the Met Gala, where Stella was one of the evening’s hosts.
