In honor of this year’s Annual Golden Globe Awards, HBO® hosted its 11th annual LUXURY LOUNGE® featuring L’Oréal Paris and Motorola this weekend at The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. A slew of celebrities and nominees attended the lounge to be pampered and gifted with luxury gifts and services to prepare for this year’s festivities.

I was able to attend the Las Vegas premiere of the new HBO Original Series, LUCK at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on January 26th. The new show from acclaimed director Michael Mann and creator of Deadwood David Milch at first made me not sure how to react to a show about the behind-the-track world of horse racing.

The owners, gamblers and jockeys are all looked at in a light never really portrayed on television before, but if it has legendary actors the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte then something was right about this show before I even laid eyes on one second of it. But when I did I was pleasantly surprised to be taken into a world that I really knew nothing about but now am fascinated with. Horse racing is much more then a thing you gamble on every once in a while.

Without partaking in any spoilers of the show, the hidden gem is actor Richie Coster who plays the character of Renzo. I already have him on pace to winning a Golden Globe, an Emmy and any other award he can get his hands on. His portrayal of an unemployed gambler who uses his social security for his gambling addiction is unlike anything you have ever seen on television. There’s no doubting that 21-year-old Taylor Swift is the epitome of a wholesome country girl that just so happens to be mega-famous, truly talented and ridiculously beautiful. Her image is something her handlers want to preserve, and were up in arms when asked by the producers of the HBO’s True Blood if they could use Tay’s song, “Haunted,” for a mature audience-only scene in an upcoming episode.

True Blood music supervisor Gary Calamar told Rolling Stone “Haunted” will be part of “a racy, sexy scene.” However, it wasn’t an easy battle to get the a-okay. Apparently, Taylor’s team was strongly opposed to the idea.

We can understand the worry her team might have, but what Taylor wants, Taylor usually gets. When she found out about the opportunity, she was more than willing to lend the track to the wildly popular show.

HBO, which runs the show on its network, has committed to keep on producing and running the intense and complicated series for as long as George R. R. Martin, who wrote the original books, keeps on writing.

Since there are already five books written with two more promised by the author, us Thrones fans have now been given one less anxiety in our lives. We WILL get to watch how the drama unfolds between the Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Arryn, Greyjoy, and Martell families.

“We told George we’d go as long as he kept writing,” HBO co-president Richard Plepler said to critics at the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour.

Phew!

Now, having not read the books yet, I was pretty shocked and upset when Eddard Stark, the very heart of the story, was beheaded by the evil young king Joffrey Baratheon, but I’m prepared to keep the faith as are the millions of other fans.

After being sent to court-ordered rehab for his cocaine addiction, Vince’s friends decide to throw him a ‘dry’ party!

Vincent Chase is back! The eighth and final season of HBO’s Entourage premiered July 24 and our boys have finally returned to fill our Sunday nights with the fantasy of what we wish our lives could be.

Vince [Adrian Grenier] has checked out of rehab and for the first time he appears to genuinely be happy. The entire crew goes to pick Vince up, Eric [Kevin Connolly], Turtle [Jerry Ferrara], and of course Drama [Kevin Dillion].

Drama decides he wants to throw his baby brother a party but first empties out the house of liquor. All goes well and somehow about 50 models show up and the party gets a bit wild. But Turtle stupidly throws a joint out of the window, causing the mansion to burn down!

Meanwhile, Ari Gold [Jeremy Piven] doesn’t understand why his wife doesn’t want him to come home. They’ve been separated, but Ari wants to work things out. She then drops the bomb that she’s been seeing someone else! Ari is devastated so he goes to the party … before the fire.

Things are going well for Drama in his career. He gets a gig as a voice over for a cartoon and it gets picked up! But Vince gets an idea in rehab to shoot a film about miners trapped … Chilean miners ring a bell?!

The only part of the episode that is a real downer is when Sloan [Emmanuelle Chriqui] tells Kevin it’s over for good. She even mails her engagement ring back — regular mail!

This is just the beginning of the eight final episodes, but will eight really be enough?
