Our sister site Deadline reports that TNT has decided to cancel HawthoRNe after its third season. But why now? Is it because of the rumors swirling around about costars Jada Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony having an affair?Likely not. There has been buzz for weeks that TNT would pull the plug on their medical series, but it’s awkward timing with all of the gossip about Jada and Marc.

Their statement reads:

TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in HawthoRNe. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with HawthoRNe nothing but the best.

The show, which centers around Jada, recently made Marc a series regular just last March. In his interview last night, Marc Anthony vehemently denied rumors he cheated on now-estranged wife Jennifer Lopez, and specifically called the gossip about Jada “laughable.”

The world was shocked this week by a report suggesting that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith were ending their 13-year marriage and that she had been cheating with Jennifer Lopez‘s estranged husband, Marc Anthony, on the set of her show, HawhtoRNe. However, both claims appear to be false: not only have the two issued a statement stating that they’re still together, but she’s also denied a tryst with Marc.  Also, it isn’t possible to cheat when you’re in an “open” marriage. But is this kind of relationship weird or just really evolved?

“Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural,” Will said in an interview. “You’re going to be attracted to people. In our marriage vows, we didn’t say ‘forsaking all others.’ The vow that we made was that you will never hear that I did something after the fact.”

He added, “If it came down to it, then one can say to the other, ‘Look, I need to have sex with somebody. I’m not going to if you don’t approve of it — but please approve of it.’”

Jada has also expressed her thoughts on the subject. “We always have people that we’re attracted to that we talk about. That don’t stop just because your married. Somebody’s always gonna catch your eye. That’s real. Somebody’s gonna always be prettier than me, somebody’s always gonna be more in awe of him than me.”

So OK, having an open relationship is a little weird. We, for the most part, have been raised to believe in monogamy. But is it worse to feel so confined in your relationship that your eyes wander elsewhere, you cheat and thus, screw up your marriage? Or is it better to be in love and sometimes seek sexual satisfaction elsewhere?

An open marriage is only for the highly evolved. It’s such a wonderful concept in theory — take the potential for straying out of the equation — but I don’t believe most women are wired that way. Jealousy and displaced anger could threaten this kind of relationship in the long run if the couple isn’t on the same page, or their feelings on the matter change.

Obviously an open marriage isn’t the norm, but you have to give credence to the fact that it might actually work. In 13 years, no report of infidelity or a troubled marriage has even scratched the surface of Will and Jada’s idyllic relationship — until now. Those are some good odds in Hollywood, where the average relationship is over in the blink of an eye.

Should you try it? Well, that’s up to you — and your partner. Life is all about different strokes for different folks, right?

Michael Vartan, co-star of HawthoRNe on TNT,  tied the knot over the weekend with real-estate agent Lauren Skaar — after gushing to us almost a year ago about how deeply in love he is!

“She’s my best friend in the world and that’s why I asked her to marry me,” Michael — who counts onetime Alias co-star Jennifer Garner as an ex — confided at the America Red Cross gala in Santa Monica, Calif. last April. “I have more fun with her than with anyone I’ve ever met. I just woke up one day and could not imagine living without her.”

But Michael, 42, wasn’t nearly finished being adorable about his lady love — he went on to tell us how he knew the woman he met in a Whole Foods parking lot in LA is “the one.”

“As you get older you know what you want and what you don’t want. I didn’t tell her she was the one, but I knew pretty quickly. The great thing about her and me is that I feel like I can be 100 percent myself.”

Michael’s rep confirmed to Us Weekly that Lauren arranged her dream wedding. About 150 family members and friends attended an elegant affair at the Pelican Hill Resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Newport Beach, Calif., on April 3, according to RadarOnline.

Michael told us they are on the way to a dream life, which includes a family — because he’s ready for kids: “Absolutely, down the road. Engagement, marriage, then kids.”

The Hawthorne star dishes wedding details to HollywoodLife.com – and why he fell in love with his wife-to-be. Trust us, you’ll be getting out the hankies!

Michael Vartan is so in love with fiancée Lauren Sklar that he’s practically shouting it from the rooftops. After hearing the Hawthorne star gush about his upcoming nuptials and what made him fall in love with his lady, WE wanted to be in love, too!

“She’s my best friend in the world and that’s why I asked her to marry me,” the 41-year-old actor (and Jennifer Garner ex) confided at the America Red Cross gala in Santa Monica, Calif. April 17. “I have more fun with her than with anyone I’ve ever met. I just woke up one day and could not imagine living without her.”

But wait – Michael wasn’t nearly finished being adorable about his lady love. He continued to say how he knew girlfriend of a year Lauren – who works in real estate – was ‘the one.’

“I knew pretty quickly, “ he confided. “As you get older you know what you want and what you don’t want. I didn’t tell her she was the one, but I knew pretty quickly. The great thing about her and me is that I feel like I can be 100% myself.”

Because Michael can be 100% himself with Lauren, he’s letting her 100% take over the wedding planning details.

“[I’m getting married] next year, next spring,” he told Hollywoodlife.com exclusively. “[Lauren] is going to basically have everything she wants. If she wants a black tablecloth and a black gown, I might have to put my foot down, but other than that, I think…it’s her big day.”

As for kids, oh yeah, he’s ready. “Absolutely, down the road. Engagement, marriage, then kids,” he promised.

Is Will Smith making life difficult for his wife? The New York Daily News is reporting that “there’s trouble behind the scenes” of TNT show HawthoRNe, which stars his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith — and it’s all because of Will!

The cast “just returned to the set this week after an unplanned, eight-day hiatus” according to the column, which cites “production complications” for the hiccup. But a source claims, “TNT executives are blaming the show’s current issues on Will Smith — a co-producer on HawthoRNe — because he isn’t cooperating with the rest of the team.”

Apparently the mega star “is not currently shooting a movie, so he’s been a constant on the set in recent weeks,” a network source spills. “He’s been inserting his input and requesting so many changes to the script that it pushed back the production schedule tremendously and caused everything to spiral out of control.”

Jada, who plays a nurse on the show, has gotten good reviews for her performance. Btu that’s not enough for her hubby! Will “wants the dramatic scenes pushed to the limit,” one source dishes. “He submits pages of notes and rewrite requests to the show’s writers and producers each week.”

A rep for TNT had “no comment” on the matter, and Smith’s flack said that this was “untrue.”

Have you ever found love at the grocery store, like Michael?

Michael Vartan, 41, is officially off the market! People is reporting that the former Alias (and current HawthoRNe) star recently became engaged to girlfriend Lauren Skaar, who he met one year ago in the parking lot of a Whole Foods in Los Angeles. Michael’s rep says he and Lauren are planning to walk down the aisle in 2011.

You may remember that Michael famously dated his Alias co-star Jennifer Garner from 2003 to 2004. It didn’t last too long, and they both worked hard to keep all the details of their private lives to themselves.

But we’re so glad we get to share in Michael’s happiness now. Congrats, Michael!
