Sean Lowe To Announce ‘DWTS’ Participation On ‘GMA’

The full cast of Dancing with the Stars was announced on GMA on Feb. 26, and HollywoodLife.com was the first to report that Sean would be joining Lisa Vanderpump and many others to compete for that mirror ball trophy. Sean’s name was not announced with the rest of the cast, because he was busy promoting The Bachelor.

However, the secret is out! We also reported that Sean had moved to LA to begin rehearsals, and that he will be dancing with Peta Murgatroyd.

Sean will make his dancing announcement when he appears on GMA on March 12 to discuss the final of The Bachelor, because ABC did not want the show overshadowed.

“Tonight is all about The Bachelor and he has to respect that,” a source close to Sean EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com on March 11.

How exciting! Sean is used to taking his shirt off on The Bachelor, so he should have no problem with the tight outfits on DWTS!

Robin Roberts is back where she belongs: on the set of Good Morning America, with her co-hosts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott, and Sam Champion. When Robin returned to the GMA set on Feb. 20, she gave a gracious and tear-filled thanks to everyone who has supported her throughout her journey.

“Faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment,” she said from the anchor desk. “I am so full of gratitude. So many people I want to thank throughout the morning: doctors, nurses, family, colleages, people who have sat in this chair. Those who have blazed a trail before me.”

“I share this morning, this day of celebration with everyone,” she added in her emotional speech.

Robin even got a warm welcome from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama!

“Good morning Ameirca, and welcome back Robin!” President Obama said in a video that aired at the top of the 7:00 hour. “The whole Obama family, we have been thinking about you and praying for you,” the first lady added.

“You are an inspiration to all of us!” the president said.

Oprah Wishes Robin Roberts A Happy Return:

“Hey Robin! I always knew this day was coming,” Oprah said in a taped message. “It came a little sooner then I thought and you know why — because you have an angel, [Robin's late mother] Lucy Marion. She was working it!”

Robin Roberts Tweets About Her GMA Return

On Feb.19, the day before her return, Robin tweeted, “Last morn to watch @GMA between froggy slippers. MANY thanks to @arobach & @EVargasABC…you will always be a part of GMA family. Blessings.”

In a recent conversation with her co-hosts, Robin revealed that she visualized herself being back at work.

“I know when I sit back down…and I look over and I see you and I see you and I see you and I see you, it’s going to be, all is right in the world. And it’s going to seem like no time has passed at all,” Robin said.

Robin Roberts’ GMA Return

On Jan. 14, the news anchor spoke to GMA from her New York City home, where she promised she would return to work.

“I’m so happy to be sharing this news with everybody — I met with my doctors last week. My blood count continues to improve,” Robin said. “My beloved sister, Sally-Ann, my donor. Her cells continue to make themselves at home in my body. The big news is that my last bone marrow aspiration — by the way, ouch, I’ve lost count how many I’ve had — but the last bone marrow test showed no abnormalities! What all of this means is my doctors were waiting for this information to tell me I can being the process of returning to the anchor chair. I’m coming home.”

Good Morning America proudly announced on Feb. 6 that Robin Roberts will return to the morning news program on Feb. 20.

Ironically, Robin’s return date will be five months to the day since she underwent a bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndrome or MDS, a rare blood disorder.

GMA played a beautiful video montage, including Hillary Clinton, Sally Field and the cast of Modern Family, welcoming Robin, 52, back to the fold.

“Robin will be back on an abbreviated schedule,” co-anchor Sam Champion said, “but eventually we’ll get her five days a week.”

Robin Performed Dry Runs For ‘GMA’

“I have to get back on GMA time,” Robin said on the Jan. 14 episode of Good Morning America. “One thing I have not missed is that alarm clock. Next week, my doctors have me doing what I’m calling a dry run. I’ll get up, go to the studio. I’ll have makeup and hair. Well, makeup. We’ll talk about the hair later.”

The Countdown Begins

Roberts posted a note on Feb. 7, saying, “[I'm] excited to re-join my wonderful ‘GMA’ family. I’m also looking forward to thanking YOU … for your many prayers and well wishes. Your compassion has been an enormous source of comfort to me and my family.”

She added that she’s “heading to the beach for the next week to reflect and give thanks for my many blessings.”

Robin Roberts‘ tough battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) – a rare blood and bone marrow disorder — is nearly over, as the Good Morning America host announced she will return in Feb. 2013. How great! Robin received several bone marrow transplants from her sister Sally-Ann Roberts, and she appeared on GMA via remote Jan. 14 to share the news that her health has rapidly improved. She said that she is in the “the process of returning to the anchor chair,” and “I’m coming home.”

Robin’s Plans To Return To ‘GMA’

Robin, 52, opened the Jan. 14 installment of GMA by appearing remotely from her Manhattan home, and told the good news of her impending return. Robin left the show Aug. 30 to begin treatment.

“I’m so happy to be sharing this news with everybody — I met with my doctors last week,” she said. “My blood count continues to improve. My beloved sister, Sally-Ann, my donor. Her cells continue to make themselves at home in my body. The big news is that my last bone marrow aspiration — by the way, ouch, I’ve lost count how many I’ve had — but the last bone marrow test showed no abnormalities!”

“What all of this means is my doctors were waiting for this information to tell me I can being the process of returning to the anchor chair,”  Robin continued. “I’m coming home.”

This is such wonderful news for Robin, who likened her recovery to an “athlete coming off injured reserve.”

“I have to get back on GMA time,” she added. “One thing I have not missed is that alarm clock. Next week, my doctors have me doing what I’m calling a dry run. I’ll get up, go to the studio. I’ll have makeup and hair. Well, makeup. We’ll talk about the hair later.”

Robin is referring to her hair loss, which she suffered from rounds of chemotherapy. Robin’s return will be staggered, as she is not quite well enough to appear on air just yet.

“I will not go on the air next week … after you all go off the air, I’ll go on set,” says Robin. She continued, “What happens now is after I go through this dry run, my doctors will sit down with me again and evaluate where I am. We’re talking now weeks, not months. I should be back sometime in February.”

And while Robin did not reveal the exact planned date of her return, she said she will be back on a date “that’s very personal and important” to her, provided that her doctor’s approve. We think this is great news!

While Stephen Colbert was discussing the one thing he loves most (America!), he was posed with a question that seemed to be a no-brainer — if he could change one thing about America, what would it be?

Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts received a bone marrow transplant to treat her MDS on Sept. 20 as she was surrounded by close family and friends. Keep reading to learn about her recovery.

As we told you this morning, Robin received a transfusion, where the doctor injected millions of her bone marrow donor, sister Sally-Ann’s stem cells into Robin. The process took just five minutes.

“I will now wait and anxiously watch and see what happens for the next seven to 10 days. My counts will continue to go up and we’ll be on to phase three which will be ‘get out of here and go home,’” Robin told the cameras.

Dr. Gail Roboz, an oncologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, told ABC about an email she got from Robin the next day, on Sept 21.

“This morning she sounds energized and she wants to be out of bed and the end of the email was, ‘I want to go home’ with an exclamation point.”

She added, “We have to roll with the punches for the next few days. Don’t forget, her systems are down and Sally Ann’s aren’t up yet. We are wanting every day to be a good day but we are ready for some bumps in the road.”

Clint Eastwood, Academy Award-winning actor and former GOP politician, revealed Sept. 17 on Good Morning America that his now-infamous empty chair speech wasn’t planned ahead of time.
Instead reading a speech from a telepromter, the 82-year-old film legend spoke to an empty chair during the Republican National Convention as if it contained President Obama.

“I didn’t have my glasses with me … so I wouldn’t have been able to read it,” he explained. “So then I’m just sitting there and the guy says, ‘You wanna sit down?’ and I said ‘No, but put that [chair] next to the podium will ya.’”

Though many Obama supporters were outraged by Clint’s speech and took to their twitter accounts to vent their frustration, the president still remains a fan of the actor. “Well, that’s his bad judgment,” Clint said during his GMA appearance, adding that he is isn’t phased by the negative criticism.

“There is something about the aging process that makes you give a crap less.”

Khloe Kardashian has babies on the brain. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star admitted that she’s always wanted to have children but she is dabbling in fertility treatments to help speed the process along.

“I never knew all the difficulties, my mom has so many kids and Kourtney pops them out like a pez dispenser,” she says. “So you think it’s like so easy. You realize it’s not as easy as you might think. It was really hard for me to show what I was going through, but I feel like I’m helping a lot of people, but I’m still figuring it out for myself.”

So what is Khloe doing to get pregnant?

“It’s really trial and error,” she says. “You get put on hormones, see if they work, and if they don’t you move on to the next step. So it’s … there will be a part 2 of this which airs on E! this Sunday. And you will find out more of the in-depth treatments I’ve been doing but it’s really trial and error.”
