Veteran Broadway and TV star Rue McClanahan died June 3 at 1 a.m. after suffering a brain hemorrhage Monday, May 31, her rep confirms to HollywoodLife.com. The actress, who was best known for playing promiscuous cougar Blanche Devereaux on Golden Girls, was 76-years-old. She passed away with her family by her side.
Thanks to her seven years on Golden Girls, Rue — who was married five times — won a whopping four Emmys and three Golden Globe awards. She was truly a star.
