The world temporarily stopped spinning on its axis when William Daniels, aka Mr. Feeny, was photographed visiting the set of Girl Meets World this week — so I’m pretty sure this news will throw us completely out of orbit. HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site has confirmed that it wasn’t merely a visit; Mr. Feeny will appear on Disney Channel’s Boy Meets World spin-off!

The details of Feeny’s return are still unclear right now, but given his history with Cory (Ben Savage), I could see this going one of two ways: Either he becomes the principal of the school where Cory is working — Cory is going to be a history teacher, just like Feeny — or he’s retired and moves in next door. Or both!

Regardless of how Feeny is reintegrated into the BMW world, I’m sure he’ll also be giving plenty of advice to Cory and Topanga’s (Danielle Fishel) daughter Riley (Rowand Blanchard), the “girl” of the show.

And as long as someone does the Feeny Call, I’ll be satisfied.

The site also confirms, however, that Will Friedle and Rider Strong (Eric and Shawn) were simply visiting with no current plans to appear on camera.

As production on the highly-anticipated Girl Meets World pilot has gotten underway, fans have been inundated with photos of former Boy Meets World cast members visiting the set, none more exciting than the one of William Daniels, aka Mr. Feeny! But on Mar. 22, Danielle Fishel, returning as Topanga, upped the ante by sharing a photo of the Matthews’ wedding rings!

Danielle tweeted a photo from the set of the pilot, showing her hand on co-star Ben Savage‘s, displaying the fictional couple’s wedding rings, with Topanga sporting a serious rock! “Cory and Topanga…together again,” the actress wrote.

‘Girl Meets World’: What To Expect

For a refresher on just what Girl Meets World is all about, it’s a spin-off of the classic TGIF mainstay, that follows Cory and Topanga into adulthood. The couple’s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) is the new focus of the show, and viewers will watch as she, you know, meets the world.

In the early goings, the show will focus on Riley and her immediate family and friends, but executive producer Michael Jacobs has suggested that he’d love to have classic BMW characters make guest appearances on the Disney Channel spin-off. From the looks of it, they won’t be too difficult to convince.

Remember when Rider Strong and Will Friedle stopped by the Girl Meets World set a few days ago? Yeah, this news blows that completely out of the water. Mailtand Ward, who played Jack and Eric’s roommate Rachel in the later seasons, Instagrammed a behind-the-scenes photo with none other than William Daniels — aka MR. FEENY!

It appears a good chunk of the Boy Meets World gang came for the taping of the pilot — I’m not sure Jennifer Love Fefferman was on set, though — so it doubled as the cast reunion we’ve all been dying to see! When Boy Meets World first ran from 1993 to 2000, there was no Twitter — heck, the internet was barely a thing — but this is 2013, so we’re getting up-to-the-minute previews of Girl Meets World as it comes to life.

In case you’re not up to speed on Girl Meets World, it’s a spin-off of Boy Meets World that follows Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) into adulthood. Their daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) is the “girl” in question, and viewers will watch as she — like her dad so many years ago — meets the world.

The show will initially focus on Riley and her immediate family and friends, but both cast members and executive producer Michael Jacobs have suggested they’d love to have classic BMW characters make guest appearances on the Disney Channel spin-off.

Excuse me while I recover from my heart exploding. Rider Strong and Will Friedle — who played Shawn Hunter and Eric Matthews, respectively, on Boy Meets World — stopped by the set of Girl Meets World on March 20 to pay a visit to the newbies. And the newbies freaked out accordingly.

“Rider Strong and Will Friedle visited us!” Rowan Blanchard — who plays Riley, aka the Girl — tweeted, along with the above photo. “OH MY GOSH.” Rider and Will posed alongside Rowan and Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Riley’s “edgy” friend Maya.

Sadly, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel were not included the family portrait — presumably because no single photograph could handle that much beautiful nostalgia.

UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that Maitland Ward, who played Eric and Jack’s roommate Rachel, was also at the taping. She tweeted about being at the studio, but the photos she Instagrammed have been taken down.

Will Shawn & Eric Appear On ‘Girl Meets World’?

Though this recent set visit was merely for pleasure, and not business, it sounds like either or both characters could make an appearance on the show at some point.

“At this point, I have no official involvement,” Rider wrote in an statement. “There might be a chance to see some of the BMW cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years. But Girl Meets World will be, and I think it should be, it’s own show. It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters … And I, for one, can’t wait to see it evolve.”

Will hasn’t released an official statement, but come on, you know he’ll be doing that Feeny Call once more.

The Matthews-Lawrence clan is finally complete! Teo Halm has been cast as Elliott, the teenage son of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) — and the older brother of titular girl Riley (Rowan Blanchard) — on Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World pilot, HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine is reporting.

Unlike some of his new co-stars, Teo is actually relatively green in the entertainment industry. Aside from three projects — a short titled Waltham Vanguard, an untitled “wolf adventure” and a biopic of writer Charles Bukowski — Teo’s IMDB is pretty bare.

Something tells me it won’t stay that way for long!

Teo was really the final piece of an already well-built puzzle. Ben, 32, and Danielle, 31, were the show’s first two major hires, reprising their roles from ABC’s original Boy Meets World series. Next up was Rowan, 11, who couldn’t have been a more perfect addition. (She looks exactly like you’d expect Cory and Topanga’s daughter to look.)

Riley’s “edgy” friend Maya — aka the “Shawn Hunter” of Girl Meets World — will be played by Sabrina Carpenter.

As for whether or not classic Boy Meets World characters will resurface on the spin-off, executive producer Michael Jacobs recently said “there’s more than a chance” we’ll be seeing familiar faces from the past.

Now that the “girl” part of Girl Meets World has been figured out — Rowan Blanchard, 11, will be playing Riley Matthews — it’s time to focus on the other missing component of the Matthews family: Riley’s brother! Danielle Fishel chatted with OK! about the hunt for Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s son, as well as some of the other key characters for the Boy Meets World spin-off.

She revealed, “We’re still in the casting process, trying to find the boys of the show: our son, the crush for our daughter, and one other character I think is going to be really exciting.”

And even though Danielle and Rowan have yet to formally act opposite one another — Danielle recently revealed the pilot will be filmed sometime in February — she’s already feeling super maternal towards her on-screen daughter.

“How freaking adorable is she?” Danielle squeed. “I want to gobble her up and hug her and kiss her and protect her and be her mother.”

She even thinks Rowan is the perfect blend of her and Ben, a real-life Cory/Topanga hybrid.

“[Rowan] has long, very thick hair,” Danielle noted. “I really do think she looks like a really good combination of the two of us. She has Ben’s skin tone, Ben’s eyes and my hair. I think she’s truly adorable, and even more adorable when you see her in action.”

And then there’s Maya, played by Sabrina Carpenter, who will serve as the proverbial devil on Riley’s shoulder.

“She’s also wonderful, and a very sweet girl,” Danielle said. “She has a biting wit and a very quick sense of humor. Her character is the closest to the Shawn character. She thinks she’s got it all figured out.”

With Boy Meets World nostalgia now hotter than ever — Disney Channel’s spin-off, Girl Meets World, films its pilot this month — Entertainment Weekly sat down with stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel to find out what’s next for the TV couple that defined a generation. Though Danielle, 31, admits she was nervous to step back into Topanga’s shoes after 13 years, Ben was quickly able to calm her nerves.

“The minute Ben started speaking, and he was Cory, I was instantly Topanga, and we were right there together as a team as husband and wife, and it was like visiting an old friend that you haven’t seen in a long time,” she told the mag.

And as if more fuel needed to be added to the fire, Ben brought up the possibility of several characters — including Shawn (Rider Strong) and Eric (Will Friedle) — making guest appearances.

“I think at least initially we’re going to concentrate on developing [Rowan Blanchard's] character and our family, and of course, everyone would love to see Uncle Shawn or Uncle Eric or some of the other characters,” Ben said. “Nothing would make me happier than to see them as part of the show.”
