The competition is starting to get stiff on Dancing with the Stars. After two great performances by Selena Gomez and Train April 17, it was time to eliminate yet another pair of dancers. Bummer!

Gavin DeGraw and Jaleel White were in the bottom two spots and were forced to dance off with their partners. You’d have to be blind, deaf and dumb not to realize Jaleel is a far superior dancer to Gavin. It wasn’t any surprise when all three judges voted Jaleel the winner — which meant Gavin packed his backs.

Week in and week out, Gavin has been one of the worst scoring stars of the season, so it was definitely his time to say goodbye.

Dolly Parton, please report to the dance floor! A Dancing with the Stars insider reveals to HollywoodLife.com that after Billy Ray Cyrus turned down the producers’ offer for Miley Cyrus to join the show’s 14th season, he suggested producers check with Dolly — and she’s close to signing on the dotted line! “Dolly has sung on the show in the past, and made a great impression on the dancers and producers,” our source tells us exclusively. “Discussions have started … and her request is to dance with Mark Ballas!”

Another singer with the Mirrorball Trophy in his sights is Gavin DeGraw! Our source confirms that Gavin has verbally committed to doing the show — as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter – but still has to sign an official contract. He has a few dates left on his current tour, but we’re told they wouldn’t interfere with the show’s hectic filming schedule.

Gavin DeGraw‘s physical assault comes as a shock to his close friends and family. HollywoodLife.com spoke to a friend of the singer, who tells us the singer’s 4AM attack near the club National Underground that he co-owns with his brother makes “no sense” and is “very scary.” Gavin, 34, a native New Yorker was spotted bloody and disoriented on 19th and 1st avenue after walking 13 blocks from the scene of the attack.

“Whenever Gavin is in town he’s always downtown partying and he’s always at National Underground,” the source tells us. “Gavin parties late-night and it’s not strange that he seen out at 4am. This is scary because I’ve been out with him at 4am and to think this could have happened while I was there … it’s scary.”

Gavin’s rep released a statement: “Gavin is currently recovering and in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital where he was taken … by ambulance after he was attacked by a group of assailants. He suffers from a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises. The police are conducting an investigation of the attack.”

Gavin, who was reportedly disoriented by the time the ambulance arrived, told police there were at least three men and he didn’t know any of his assailants.

The “I Don’t Want To Be” singer was expected to perform with Train and Maroon 5 on Aug. 12 in upstate New York.

Though specific details are still unclear, 34-year-old rocker Gavin DeGraw was attacked late Aug. 7 in New York City’s East Village. Gavin is “currently under observation” at Bellevue Hospital, according to a statement from his rep.

Gavin was listed in stable condition and treated for a broken nose, as well as multiple facial cuts. No information is known about his attackers — neither their identities, nor the number of people involved — but a spokesperson for the New York Police Department did confirm Gavin had just left a group of friends before the attack.

Gavin, whose 2004 hit “I Don’t Wanna Be” served as the theme song for the long-running teen drama One Tree Hill, has plans to release his next album, Sweeter, on Sept. 20. We wish him a speedy recovery, and hope he can soon return to doing what he loves most.

It wasn’t a regular monday night at the eatery when I went but rather Valentine’s day. It was extremely busy but not in the least bit overcrowded. I was greeted with a beautiful long-stemmed rose and was promptly sat at my table. They were amazing enough to sit two of us at a table for four unlike other NYC restaurants who would cram a couple into a tiny table to save room. The service was impeccable — from the enthusiastic waiter offering up his best advice on dishes to the bus boys who always seemed to know once I was finished with my last bite. As for the food: The half-shell Oysters were delicious and the crab meat appetizers were to die for. The cocktail sauce had a spicy kick to it which only made it better. The table next to us had Benjamin’s signature canadian bacon that looked great and must have been — because they couldn’t stop raving to us about it!

The entrees were next and let me tell you, even if you are a pescatarian or a vegetarian there is something delicious on the menu for you. The Porter House Steak for one was flawless not to mention huge and the lobster tails with butter melted in your mouth. The cottage fries and broccoli were great but we say — skip the creamed spinach.

We finished off with a little champagne toast – courtesy of their Valentine’s Day special — and a slice of cheesecake big enough for two that comes with chocolate covered strawberries and whip cream. It was a fantastic end to an unforgettably delicious dinner.
