Friday Night Lights star Zach Gilford, 30, wed Glades star Kiele Sanchez, 36, on Dec. 29!

The couple met in early 2010 while they were costarring in the ABC pilot The Matadors, however, it was never picked up to series.

“She is the most amazing woman in the world,” Zach told Us Weekly of Kiele during the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in 2012.

In July, Zach revealed to E! News that the couple’s wedding plans were “magical.”

“We set a date,” he said. “We found a magical, magical place to get married and I’m excited. It is going to be cool.”

This is Zach’s first marriage and the second for Kiele, who is divorced from writer and film director Zach Helm.

Zach is best known for playing quarterback Matt Saracen on NBC’s Friday Night Lights. He most recently starred in FOX’s Mob Doctor, but it was canceled after 13 episodes. He’ll next be seen opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie The Last Stand, premiering Jan. 18, 2013. Zach’s other TV and film work includes Off the Map, In Our Nature and Post Grad. Kiele appeared on ABC’s Lost, and currently stars in A&E’s The Glades.

(Trivia: Kiele played the controversial character Nikki Fernandez on six episodes of LOST.)

Aimee Teegarden held her own against an army of Texan footballers — now let’s see how well can fare in hand-to-hand combat! TVLine reports that Friday Night Lights‘ own Julie Taylor has snagged the lead role in The CW’s The Selection, which Hunger Games fans will definitely want to DVR if it gets picked up for the fall. Set 300 years in the future, the show tells the story of a poor girl (Aimee) who is selected to compete to become the “queen” of a war-torn country. (Sound familiar… ish?)

Of course, this won’t be the first time we’ve seen Aimee grace The CW. 90210 fans should remember her less-than-fondly as Rhonda, the crazy chick who tried to steal Ethan (Dustin Milligan) away from Annie (Shenae Grimes) after she was involved in a car crash during the show’s first season.

(Seriously, what’s up with Aimee’s characters always getting into car accidents?)

Aimee Teegarden and Michael B. Jordan aren’t on the same page when it comes to a Friday Night Lights film, Hollywoodlife.com learned at the Emmys!

“You know, I think if it happened, it would be great. It would be such a fun thing to do. But you know, we’ll see!” Aimee told us.

But Michael sang a different tune! “I don’t know, I think sometimes it might be too soon. At the end of the day, we went out with a bang. We’re going out on top right now as far as with the Emmy nominations. Me personally? I’d leave it alone.”

After years of being the underdog, it was gratifying to see all of my favorites from ‘Friday Night Lights,’ finally relish in the recognition they deserved at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles Sept. 19!

I always say, the Primetime Emmy Awards are like Christmas to me. It’s my favorite day of the year, and yesterday’s event was no exception! However, I think it felt even better than usual, since I got to see Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler and the rest of the Friday Night Lights cast FINALLY be recognized for five flawless seasons of one of TV’s finest shows.

But that wasn’t the only highlight of the day! Check out my video from this year’s Emmy red carpet to see all the TV celebs arriving to one of the glammest days of fall!

Kyle Chandler and Friday Night Lights have received long overdue Emmys and here at HollywoodLife, we’re ecstatic about it!

Kyle took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama, and Jason Katims won the Emmy for Best Writing for the show.

Unfortunately, Kyle’s on-screen wife Connie Britton was defeated by Julianna Margulies for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama and the show itself lost in the Outstanding Drama category to Mad Men. But it’s still nice that the show was recognized!

After five glorious seasons, Friday Night Lights — arguably the best show on television — is being recognized for its stellar cast, story and all around production at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards. And I have one word to say: FINALLY! Kyle Chandler (Eric Taylor) was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series; Connie Britton was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series and the show was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. (Plus, the series’ finale was nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.) Do YOU think they stand a chance to win?

I wish I could say without hesitation FNL will sweep in all its categories, but it is up against some stiff competition. Kyle, 45, has to beat out Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm, House star Hugh Laurie and Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall, to name a few.

Meanwhile, Connie, 44, is up against ladies like Julianna Margulies from The Good Wife, Kathy Bates from Harry’s Law and Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss, in addition to others.

As far as dramas are concerned — I’m completely torn on a winner. Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Mad Men and The Good Wife are all nominated, in addition to FNL. Basically, it’s like Sophie’s Choice. That said, Friday Night Lights might surprise us and take the prize. It hasn’t ever been nominated in the Best Drama category AND it’s wrapped for good — those other shows will have other opportunities to win beyond this year. I hope that works in FNL‘s favor.

Also, both Connie and Kyle were nominated for Emmys last year and neither walked away with a statue. Honestly, their portrayal of Eric and Tami Taylor’s complex marriage is one of the most special relationships I’ve ever seen on both the big and small screens.

Throughout the last five seasons, Friday Night Lights has consistently raised the bar of excellence. Not once (outside of season two) has it jumped the shark or underperformed. Even though it doesn’t need an Emmy to validate its excellence, I believe full-heartedly it deserves to be recognized for the perfection it is.

Clear eyes, full heart, can’t lose.
