Nina Dobrev,24, may stun in high fashion frocks, but that doesn’t mean she limits herself to couture creations! We love the way The Vampire Diaries star has such a versatile sense of style. Regardless of what she wears she always looks amazing, and her black lace frock at the DirecTV Super Saturday night party on Feb. 2 was no exception.

The star looked sexy and chic in a black cap-sleeve dress with a round neckline when she stepped out for the Super Bowl festivities. The lace panel across the chest made this LBD anything but basic! Nina’s red carpet evolution seems so effortless, and I love the way she dresses sexy without being too showy. At first glance we assumed Nina’s dress was yet another high-fashion frock — but in reality it’s totally attainable. Both stars stepped out wearing this sparkling sequins mini, but who do you think wore it best?

Kourtney Kardashian has recently pulled out some interesting looks in NYC, but on May 24, she kept it relatively simple at the E! 20th anniversary party. She paired the long-sleeved French Connection frock with minimal accessories and black pumps, keeping the focus on the sparkling get-up.

That wasn’t the last time we saw this dress! Singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat is known for her bohemian style (it totally matches her music!), but this metallic get-up is much more glam! She looked great at the Rock The Kasbah benefit in LA on Nov. 11, and I like how she kept it sexy with a pair of black peep toes.

It’s a tough call because the looks are so similar, but I’m going to give this one to Colbie because a mini like that deserves the longest legs possible! Decide what you think and VOTE!

Who wore French Connection better?

Lo Bosworth and Amber Lancaster have a lot in common — not only have these gorgeous gals both starred in popular MTV shows, they share the same taste when it comes to style!

Lo, former reality star from The Hills, celebrated the launch of her new lifestyle blog TheLoDown.com at Lavo in Las Vegas on Sept. 3, and opted for the French Connection Dance Daisy Dress. She paired it with minimal accessories, including a turquoise Chanel purse.

Meanwhile, The Hard Times of RJ Berger star Amber wore the exact same dress earlier this summer, to the French Connection Fall 2010 Collection Celebration at the Soho House in Los Angeles on Aug. 17. She also kept the accessories to a bare minimum, opting for a few bracelets, and nude pumps, which were very similar to Lo’s.

I really like that both girls kept it simple because it makes the dress stand out more. Though I must say, I think Amber definitely wins this battle! It fits her flawlessly, and she just looks like she’s having more fun! Either way, Lo and Amber were smart to wear this adorable (and affordable!) number. Considering long-sleeved minis are one of the hottest trends this fall, I’m not surprised both girls stepped out sporting this get-up! Lo Bosworth pays tribute to one of her favorite designers by wearing the French Connection Rebecca Beads dress ($228) to the French Connection Fall 2010 Collection at Soho House in LA on Aug. 17th. She kept her look simple and chic by pairing it with an understated but sexy updo, a black bag, and black peep-toes.

Louise Roe was next to show us her unique take on the mini when she wore it to the Kari Feinstein Primetime Emmy Awards Style Lounge in LA on Aug. 27th. Roe paired it with a chunkier heel and let her cascading locks mirror the design on the dress. However, in this showdown I think the winner is clear: I cant get enough of Lo’s super-polished look! Jamie-Lynn Sigler attended the French Connection Fall 2010 Collection debut at Soho House in West Hollywood benefiting the Art of Elysium on Aug. 17. The gorgeous actress showed off some brand new pretty blonde locks. “Instead of leaving Jamie’s hair really long and beachy as we’ve done in the past, we brought the length up a bit for something more fresh, playful and sexy!” says Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee, Jamie-Lynn’s extension specialist and colorist from Nine Zero One salon. The coolest part about Jamie-Lynn’s new look is that she didn’t actually dye her hair at all! “We created a lighter all over color for her by using lighter Great Lengths extensions, instead of having to color or risk damaging her own natural hair,” Riawna and Nikki say.

As a brunette, I think this is just the smartest idea ever. Adding in extensions of a lighter hue is a great way to change things up without the commitment of dying your actual hair. “Jamie mentioned this is the lightest her hair has ever been,” Riawna and Nikki says. “By keeping her in the caramel tones and not going too light, this color compliments her skin tone beautifully!”

Sara Canning from The Vampire Diaries , which begins new episodes tonight, Jan 21 – yay!- may be busy filming scenes and hanging with her cast members — (in fact, she spent the weekend partying in a chic French Connection dress with her co-stars in Las Vegas for Nina Doborev‘s 21st birthday) — but she made some time to spill her style secrets to Hollywoodlife.com, telling us the three things she can’t live without, “Lulu Lemon pants, brown Frye boots, and Roots mittens (especially when I’m home in freezing Vancouver).” Check out what else she shared!

Here’s what she had to say!

• How Sara describes her personal style: “I tend to be very relaxed with my style. I usually grab whatever catches my eye first in the morning and is comfortable, since I’m so busy running around and filming these days. For an event or a night out, I’ll usually choose a dress with a great fit and an interesting detail. The French Connection dress I wore to Nina’s birthday party in Vegas was a great example of this – it was a simple black dress, but the one-shoulder with the ruffles gave it an interesting edge. Dark colors work well with my fair complexion – black, navy, deep reds or deep purples are my favorites.”

• Sara’s style icon: “My style icon is Cate Blanchett. She always looks ethereal and timeless.”

• The three things Sara can’t live without: “Lulu Lemon pants, brown Frye boots, and Roots mittens (especially when I’m home in freezing Vancouver).”

• Sara tells us about her “tomboy” phase: “Growing up I was a tomboy and wore boy clothes until I was twelve…but that catered well to climbing trees and building forts!”

• Sara feels most comfortable in: “I feel most comfortable in jeans, but have really begun to appreciate summer dresses in great fabrics since moving to humid Atlanta.”

• Sara’s favorite/least favorite trends this season: “I’m really into Victorian jewelry right now. I just really love all things antique. I like jewelry that looks like it has a history and a story. As for my least favorite trend, I think I’d have to say sky-high, uncomfortable heels — although I understand they’re a necessary evil and wear them anyway.”
