Fifth Harmony Announces Debut Single

The girls of Fifth Harmony have been putting together their debut album ever since they tweeted a picture from the studio in February. They announced their first single off the album on June 7, and we’ve been counting down the days since!

In an interview with Idolator, the ladies said their new album was “fun,” and listed Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, the Spice Girls, and Destiny’s Child as some of their many influences. Sounds like they’ll be in good company!

Fifth Harmony Receives Support From ‘X Factor’ Judges

Ever since Fifth Harmony placed third on The X Factor in Dec. 2012, the girls have been building up buzz around their post-X Factor career and debut album by using the hashtag #5HTheDreamBegins6713 on Twitter. Simon, of course, has given the band he formed his full support; and fellow X Factor judge LA Reid has been tweeting up a storm about the ladies.

When the girls announced that “Miss Movin’ On” would be their debut single, LA tweeted, “Great choice @FifthHarmony! Can’t wait for your dream to begin.” So nice!

Fifth Harmony signed a joint contract with LA’s Epic Records and Simon’s Syco Music back in January. We’re glad to see them both taking such an involvement with the girls’ careers!

Fifth Harmony Announces Debut Single

The girls of Fifth Harmony have been working hard on recording their debut album since they tweeted a picture from the studio in February, and it’s all led to the announcement of their first single off the album, “Miss Moving On.” They didn’t announce the release date for the single, but we hope it’s soon!

Fifth Harmony Receives Two ‘X Factor’ Judges’ Support On Twitter

Using the hashtag #5HTheDreamBegins6713, Fifth Harmony has been building up to June 7 as the kickstart to their post-X Factor career on Twitter. The group even got shout outs from X Factor judges Simon Cowell and LA Reid!

LA said, “@FifthHarmony, @SimonCowell and I are waiting for you to decide your single. Make the call! #BeEpic,” on June 4. On the same day, Simon tweeted, “Dear fifth harmony. Please. Announce. The. Single. Release. Date. And. The. Name. Of. The Song. This. Week. Thank you. Simon. X.”

Once the girls made their announcement on June 7, LA gave them some more love for “Miss Moving On.” “Great choice @FifthHarmony! Can’t wait for your dream to begin,” he said. What a sweet thing to say!

LA and Simon signed Fifth Harmony on a joint contract with LA’s Epic Records and Simon’s Syco Music back in January. It’s nice to see both of them having a lot of involvement with the group!

Fifth Harmony is on their way to being the female equivalent of One Direction, so it only makes sense that the girls are able to bust out renditions of “Kiss You,” “Irresistible” and more on command.

Fifth Harmony Covers One Direction At The Kids’ Choice Awards

When the interviewer on the Kids’ Choice Awards’ orange carpet asks the girls to sing some 1D, it actually takes some debate before they all decide on a mutual favorite. Dinah Jane Hansen’s suggestion to do “Rock Me” gets shot down, Ally Brooke’s rendition of “Irresistible” is more of a solo than a group effort — and the same goes for Camila Cabello’s stab at “Nobody Compares.”

But it’s all glorious harmonizing when the five girls decide to sing “Kiss You.” There’s a reason why Fifth Harmony almost won The X Factor – the cover sounds amazing and actually gives One Direction’s original a run for its money!

Fifth Harmony: Covers Are Just The Beginning

This is just another example of the girls of 5H showing their talents on another artist’s song. The girls, who have been hailed as the next Spice Girls, also made their own rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House,” and in February they released a beautiful video cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinking About You” that totally blew our minds.

We think these covers only scratch the surface of how great Fifth Harmony could be — just wait until Fall 2013 when their debut album is released!

Prepare to have a heart attack, Lovatics! While Britney Spears and L.A. Reid may be abandoning their posts at The X Factor, HollywoodLife.com has exclusively learned that Demi Lovato is “mostly a lock” to return as a judge in season three — and that’s not all the former Sonny With A Chance star has up her sleeve!

According to our source, if Demi does return to The X Factor, she’ll be doing some major collaborating with girl-group Fifth Harmony! Even though the girls were on Team Simon Cowell last season, Demi will “most likely” sing on one of the group’s singles and share the X Factor stage with them for a live performance.

We spoke to Demi in Dec. 2012, and she told us she’d be open to the idea of collaborating with the girls.

“I am always open to collaborations, and I would like to show these girls a ‘Thank you,’ and show them how much they have done for me,” Demi told us. “If I can help in [an] album in any way or to collaborate since they are so down to earth girls.”

Emblem3 and winner Tate Stevens will also perform during season three, our source confirms.

What Will Fifth Harmony’s Debut Album Sound Like?

When Fifth Harmony first hit the recording studio last month, we spoke with a source who told us the girl group is hoping to become the next Spice Girls!

“It’s going to be a fun pop album the likes of Spice Girls and early Destiny’s Child,” our source revealed. “It’s going to have a fun flavor of radio-friendly hits and ballads, because they really want to live by their name.”

Fifth Harmony has been working on their new album, but also have had time to be filmed by Fuse while getting ready during a recent trip to The Grove in LA for the TopShop TopMan Grand Opening. The documentary-style video shows the girls chatting about The X Factor, their album and Demi Lovato!

Many have wondered what Fifth Harmony’s album will be like. HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLSUIVELY that, “It’s going to be a fun pop album the likes of Spice Girls and early Destiny’s Child. It’s going to have a fun flavor of radio-friendly hits and ballads, because they really want to live by their name.” As for collaborations, we were told, “While it’s not out of the realm of possibility, none have happened yet. Currently their are no collaborations on deck, but that doesn’t mean remixes won’t be made. Our source added, “The whole process is starting, and they are all seeing what works. While we impatiently await their debut album, which the girls are already at work on, they’ve shared a new video on their YouTube page, singing the heck out of Frank Oocean‘s beautiful single “Thinkin Bout You”!

The video, the first ever on the girl group’s official YouTube page, was shared on Feb. 26. In the clip, the five stunning songstresses are joined only by a pianist as they croon Frank’s song. Could this cover be included on the group’s album?

One Direction better watch out because Fifth Harmony is about to dominate! Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui are blowing up and even though they finished in third place on season two of X-Factor, their producer, Julian Bunetta.

Why These Girls Could Be The Next One Direction

The girl group finished behind Carly Rose Sonenclar, and winner Tate Stevens on the show. But they signed to Epic Records and are already planning their domination with One Direction’s producer.

“Well hopefully [it will] be the opposite side of the coin, the female side of the coin from the 1D boys, which would be great,” Julian says. “It’s five amazingly talented, beautiful girls that I love to death and they’re great singers.”

She went on to say: “And I worked with them on the show. I’m getting to executive produce their album and so I’m trying to reach out to all the best songwriters and producers in the business and make an album that girls can have a lot of fun to.”

We think these girls are awesome and totally talented. Clearly the boys of One Direction have risen to total mega-fame since the show and they now tour all over the world and fans throwing themselves at them. But do you think that Fifth Harmony could be the next Spice Girls or Destiny’s Child?

After performing with Fifth Harmony on her hit single “Give Your Heart A Break” during night one of the X Factor‘s second season finale, Demi Lovato admitted that she would love to record with the girls in the future. She may have to live up to her words now that the girl group, who came in third, have begun recording their new album! On Feb. 14, at Demi’s performance at the Topshop opening in Los Angeles, she and the girls reunited!

In a new video for Fuse, called A Day With Fifth Harmony & Demi Lovato, the former contestants are followed by a camera crew for the entire day, during which they meet up with their former collaboration partner at her show. While the girls don’t join Demi on stage (which would have been awesome!), they stand just offstage and sing along with the pop star. So cute!
