Chad Johnson & Evelyn Lozada Back Together After Assault

Just six weeks after their wedding, Chad Johnson, 34, was arrested on Aug. 11 for domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted his wife Evelyn Lozada, 37. Evelyn immediately filed for divorce Chad on Aug. 14, but now it seems the couple is considering a reunion.

Evelyn and her estranged husband Chad were all smiles when they were photographed together on a date in Miami on Dec. 30. MediaTakeOut.com reports that not only are the former NFL player and Basketball Wives star back together — they’ve also moved back in together.

The Alleged Assault

According to TMZ, Chad and Evelyn got into a heated argument when Evelyn discovered a receipt for condoms in the couple’s Maserati. When she confronted Chad about the receipt, they began fighting and Chad allegedly head-butted her.

When police arrived at the scene, Evelyn had lacerations on her forehead and she was immediately rushed to the hospital. Chad was arrested and held on $2500 bond.

After the arrest, Chad’s contract with the Miami Dolphins was terminated. On Aug. 29, the NFL star took to twitter to make an apology.

“Don’t feel bad, my black ass messed up, I made the bed now I gotta lay n it RT @MissShaiMUA: I actually feel bad for @ochocinco Idk why tho.”

Chad has been charged with domestic battery and could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Chad Ochocinco is doing his best to make amends, but is it too late? The now former NFL star, took to Twitter on Aug. 29 to tell his fans that he feels bad for allegedly physically hurting his wife Evelyn Lozada.

We told you that HollywoodLife.com spoke to a source close to the situation who reveals that Evelyn had moved out of their home, while Chad spent the night in jail.

“Evelyn is no longer at the home she shared with Ocho,” a source tells us. “It’s an unfortunate situation.”

Police say Evelyn had a three-inch cut on her forehead and Chad spent a night in the Broward County, Fla., jail. He posted bond on Aug. 12 in the amount of $2,500.

Shortly after, The Miami Dolphins “terminated” his contract. If Chad gets convicted, he could spend up to one year in jail, and be ordered to do community service and take anger management classes.

Evelyn is filing for divorce from Chad following their domestic violence incident, according to a new report. Read on for the details.

Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson‘s marriage to Evelyn Lozada is over. Having only been married for six weeks, Evelyn is filing for divorce after an violent argument between the two ended in Chad head-butting his wife, leaving her bleeding from the head.

According to TMZ, Evelyn filed documents in Florida on Tuesday, August 14, claiming her marriage is “irretrievably broken.” TMZ reports that the legal documents also indicate that the couple do have a prenup.

Chad and Evelyn were just married on July 4 in St. Maarten in a ceremony that was recorded for an upcoming VH1 reality show that has since been canceled.

Chad was arrested on August 11 for the assault.

After being hit, Evelyn ran to a neighbor’s house for help. According to a 911 call obtained by TMZ, the neighbor called to get help for a bleeding Evelyn.

As TMZ reports, the neighbor told the 911 dispatcher that Chad “hit her on the head…She has a nice cut on the forehead that I believe is going to need stitches.” The neighbor also asked that the report be kept under wraps, due to Chad’s high profile! “…we’d like to keep this a quiet as possible,” the neighbor said. “We don’t need the news here.”

In an official statement given to HollywoodLife.com, a rep for VH1 says, “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.” The show was set to premiere on September 3.

NFL star Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday, August 11 for domestic violence, after allegedly assaulting his wife, Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada.

Chad allegedly head-butted Evelyn during an argument, and when police arrived on the scene, the reality star had lacerations on her forehead, according to TMZ.

The fight allegedly started after Evenlyn found a receipt for condoms in the center console of the couple’s Maserati. She reportedly confronted Chad on the matter and a verbal argument allegedly ensued.

Chad was arrested and Evelyn was rushed to the hospital. She has since been released and is currently pressing charges against Chad, according to TMZ’s report.

Chad stood before a judge this morning (Aug. 12) where a bond was set at $2500. He is expected to post and be released within the next couple of hours.

A rep for the Miami Dolphins released a statement on the arrest, saying, “We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevent information.”
