Some of the hottest men in music put their most stylish foot forward during the 2013 Billboard Music Awards on May 19, and arrived on the blue carpet looking more handsome and dapper than ever! We loved the mix of casual ensembles and stylish suits on the carpet.

Billboard Awards Men’s Fashion — Chris Brown & Austin Mahone’s Dressed Down Looks

Chris Brown arrived on the blue carpet looking noticeably more dressed down in a printed sweater and leather pants. He looked stone-faced on the carpet, and his mean mug matched his edgy tattoos and jewelry. But for Chris’ performance at the Billboard Music Awards, he totally dressed up his look in a dapper all-black suit — and he looked so handsome!

He even managed to show off his dance moves in his dressed-up look, which was even more impressive! We prefer Chris in a suit than his sweater look, but he looked great all night.

Austin Mahone also showed up more dressed down in jeans and a letterman jacket, with just a T-shirt underneath. He topped off his look with a pair of sneakers, but his adorable smile totally made up for his casual ensemble!

However, some other guests were on the other end of the fashion spectrum, and showed up looking dapper and stylish in more dressed up outfits. Miguel looked incredibly handsome in his all-black suit, and his big black sunglasses made him look even cooler!

Will.I.Am rocked the black-and-white trend for spring with a crisp white shirt and white suit jacket. He topped off his look with some animal-printed loafers — so fun!

The boys of Emblem3 are not only good musicians, they also know good music! The X Factor trio – Keaton Stromberg, Wesley Stromberg and Drew Chadwick said their song for the summer is none other than Selena Gomez‘s hit “Come & Get It!” Well, it’s good that they love it because they will be hearing a lot of it when they join her on her tour!

Speaking to HollywoodLife.com exclusively at Wango Tango on May 11, Wesley said his favorite song for this summer is Selena’s hot new tune!

Emblem3 Announce They Are Touring With Selena Gomez

On May 16, the boys announced that they would join Selena on this year’s “Stars Dance” tour.

The boys of Emblem3 released the following statement about joining the tour:

We’re so psyched to be touring North America and Canada later this year, hitting a bunch of cities our fans haven’t seen us in yet. We’ve been looking to get back out and couldn’t think of anyone more dope than Selena to do it with. Gonna be a fun ride!

Emblem3 Tells Us What They Look For In Girls

HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY interviewed the boys about dating, and they told us what they are looking for in a girl.

“Be a shining spirit,” Wesley told us.

We got a slightly more expanded list of criteria from Drew, who said a girl should have a “genuine heart, pure smile,” and be “pure-hearted.” She should also “stand for righteousness, be flexible and do yoga.”

“Play naked Twister” is the only thing Keaton requires in a girl.

On Dec. 20, Tate Stevens reigned victorious as he became the winner of the second season of The X Factor. The country crooner may be taking home the top prize of the recording contract, but he’s not the only one who is going to get a record deal! Top judge Simon Cowell revealed to HollywoodLife.com that he believes a certain group will be just fine, admitting that cute boy band Emblem3 will get a recording contract – and potentially with Simon’s record label!

SIMON’S PLANS FOR EMBLEM3

As previously reported by HollywoodLife.com, Simon admitted that he had plans for Emblem3, after they were shockingly eliminated from the competition on Dec. 13. Simon said he believed they would be signed. “I think there’s a pretty good chance. I’m not going to let anyone else get them. There will be some pretty big announcements at the end of the show.”

At the Dec. 20 final, Simon all but confirmed that he will be the one to sign them! When asked if they would get a record deal, he said, “If we don’t sign them, someone else will,” and then he said to “watch this space.” How exciting!

Simon also spoke about how much he will miss fellow judge L.A. Reid, who has quit the show, but he pointed out that they will still work together at Sony. Simon further fueled rumors that Sony will be the ones to offer Emblem3 a recording contract when he said that L.A. has “other artists signing with him very soon.”

Don’t tease us, Simon! We want an Emblem3 album soon!

Simon Cowell and America were shocked with the outcome of Emblem 3‘s status in this week’s rankings, revealed on the Nov. 8 episode of The X Factor, and after a group of reporters talked to Simon on his thoughts, we all have a clearer idea of what Emblem 3 will end up doing next. Check it out!

“Well, you know what? The reason we did this with the rankings reveal was that if I had done this when One Direction was on the show a similar thing would have happened,” Simon told reporters backstage, adding, “I thought they were winning every week, when we found out afterwards – they didn’t win every week. Now, if the public had known that, I think the course of the competition may have changed. And I think that if you’re an Emblem 3 fan, or Fifth Harmony fan or Lyric fan, you really have to pick up the phone and vote. And I’ve got to work harder. This was not great news.”

But when Simon addressed some changes he expected with his group, he was quick to add, “To be honest with you, I think probably I think song choices are important. Everything’s important. I’ve got to rethink it.”

You might not know this, but you have Simon Cowell to thank for the very existence of One Direction. He formed the British-Irish boy band on the The X Factor UK, and it sounds like he might have struck gold again — stateside, this time — with Emblem 3! Speaking to HollywoodLife.com and other reporters Nov. 1, Simon drew comparisons between the global phenomenon and the budding pop trio.

“[The boys of Emblem 3] do remind me, in a lot of ways, of when I started working with One Direction,” Simon said. “It was this self-confidence, having fun, wanting to win, but at the same time kind of difficult to manage. But I like that. I have fun working with them, I really do. And they are infectious.”

Despite their noted similarities, however, don’t hold your breath waiting for Emblem 3 to perform a One Direction song this season. When asked about that possibility, Simon simply responded, “Um… doubtful.”

We finally made it to the live shows, y’all! The Oct. 31 episode of The X Factor featured a “Made in America” theme, but it probably should have been something Halloween-related — because most of the performances were downright scary! Luckily, first-time host Khloé Kardashian and her nipples kept us entertained, along with a few standout singers.

The Good:

I know Emblem 3 can come off a little douchey sometimes, but they were by far my favorite act of the night with their really catchy version of Matisyahu‘s “One Day.” Demi Lovato basically admitted she wanted to bang all three of them, and I predict the power of teen girls will carry them far in this competition.

Carly Rose Sonenclar is hands-down the best singer in this competition — and she’s only 13 years old! She sang “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida, which was a weird song choice, but she still killed it like a pro. “It would be criminal if you leave the competition,” Simon Cowell told her. Mark my words: She will win this whole damn thing!

David Correy took on one of my favorite Whitney Houston songs, “My Love is Your Love,” and while Simon called it “desperate,” I thought his vocals were totally spot-on. Simon’s just a hater!

Meanwhile, firecracker Jennel Garcia also shined among the mediocrity. She received a mini-makeover and took on Motley Crue‘s classic “Home Sweet Home.” L.A. Reid told her she could easily win this competition!

The Bad:

Country group Sister C sang “Hell On Heels” by the Pistol Annies, and while they are definitely good singers, they’re just… annoying. I don’t know what Britney Spears was thinking when she said they “really delivered.” Delivered what, exactly?

Even the adorable Diamond White couldn’t pull off Train‘s “Hey Soul, Sister.” It was a terrible song choice and the whole performance was underwhelming. Still, Simon said it was a “massive improvement” for her. (I don’t know about that.)

Cutie Arin Ray sang “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” by The Supremes, but we could barely hear his voice through the loud bursts of smoke. Demi said it was “a little stiff,” and Simon wasn’t a fan of the dancers. It was just all wrong for him.

CeCe Frey bleached her hair blonde, and now looks like a porn star. (I’m sorry, but she does!) She sang Patti Smith‘s “Because the Night,” and I don’t think it showed off her voice at all. Still, Simon thinks she’s fearless and is confident she can do better, as am I.

As for Tate Stevens, he’s a nice guy, but throughout his performance of Craig Morgan‘s “Tough,” I was bored out of my mind. Simon said he’s “a good honest man who needs a break,” but is that reason enough to give him $5 million?

I had really high hopes for LYLAS, which now goes by the equally terrible name 1432 for legal reasons, but L.A. was right in saying their rendition of Taylor Swift‘s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” sounded like karaoke. Let’s step it up, ladies. You have amazing voices!

The Ugly:

Paige Thomas sported a newly shaved head and some strange, super-galactic body suit while she sang Haddaway‘s “What Is Love.” For some reason, Simon said she “nailed it.” I thought it did absolutely nothing for her. At all.

Question: who thought it was a good idea for Vino Alan to sing a Nickelback song? That should NEVER be allowed. Simon said he sounded like “some horrible cover singer,” but truth be told, it was probably better than the original — which isn’t saying much, considering it’s Nickelback and all.

Lyric 145 forgot what year it was and sang “Boom! Shake the Room” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. I literally thought I was in a bad ’80s music video, complete with the neon MC Hammer pants. Hell, the eyepatch girl wore a plastic garbage bag as a coat! L.A. said it “wasn’t hip-hop.” (It wasn’t even music!)

Beatrice Miller and her ridiculously frizzy hair sang Jason Mraz‘s hit “I Won’t Give Up.” Her vocals were pretty bad, but can we talk about her Avril Lavigne getup? She’s too good for this!

Mr. Entertainment himself, Jason Brock, was definitely entertaining — but not in a good way. Simon called his version of “Dance Again” by Jennifer Lopez “utterly horrendous.” And, yeah, that about sums it up.

Willie Jones was also one of my least favorites with his performance of Gretchen Wilson‘s “Here for the Party.” He wore a Sunday church suit with leather pants and half-naked girls dancing around him. Simon was right when he called the whole thing “silly.” What WAS that?
