A shocking new study shows women are 2.4 times more likely to lose their unborn babies if they take the painkiller, anytime from just before they conceive up to the 20th week of pregnancy.

Researchers fear pregnant women are popping Ibuprofen pills, unaware they are more than doubling the risk of miscarrying!In fact, although the drug carries a warning label stating it shouldn’t be taken during pregnancy — seventeen per cent of moms admitted in a recent survey they took Ibuprofen while pregnant!

That’s terrifying!

The study was carried out on 47,050 women aged between 15 and 45 and published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

The drugs were hidden in a pack of Haribo candy the poor girl wanted to share with classmates.

Luckily an eagle-eyed teacher spotted the cocaine wrap and confiscated it. Imagine what COULD have happened!

The teacher alerted police in East Sussex, England who raided the girl’s home and found 100 more wraps AND cannabis hidden away.

An un-named 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of drug dealing. His daughter is now living with his mother, under the watchful eye of child services.

A shocked parent tells The Sun, “You teach your kids about taking sweets from strangers but don’t expect them to be in danger from eating sweets offered by other children at school. I don’t want to be wondering if my boy is being handed drugs in the playground.”

Jessica Ockman of Metairie, Lousiana has been charged with child desertion and other drug-related charges after allegedly leaving her 20-month-old son alone in her car while she went to get high in the gas station’s bathroom. The lifeless body of her best friend, 22-year-old Shelby Fleming, was found in the car next to the toddler, but Ockman is not being charged in connection with her death. How terrible is this?

According to the Daily Mail, Jessica was found unconscious in the restroom by employees at 9am, lying next to a lighter and a spoon. Investigators also found a white plastic box containing marijuana that Ockman had tossed into a nearby garbage.

Ockman was booked at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Centre with child desertion, obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The toddler was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and neighbors say he is now living with relatives. The death of Ockman’s friend is still under investigation although authorities say it was not the result of a criminal act.

“I actually did this with Honor… It is kind of a way to relax and know that the contraction will only last for so long,” she explains. “You just need to concentrate on the breathing and just the sound of his voice… Normally I want to strangle him but at that moment it’s sort of calming and wonderful.”

Rapper Nelly says he was ‘naïve’ to let his daughter Chanell, now 17, watch him sell drugs when she was a baby. Can you say, understatement of the year??

Nelly, who fathered Chanell when he was just 19, makes the confession in a new interview for VH1’s Behind The Music, describing how he dealt drugs to support his family before finding fame.

He says, “Sometimes I would ride with my daughter in the car to go make transactions. A couple of times me, her and my baby mother would be in the car and you know we would kind of be riding dirty. So like I said, again man, I was very naïve.”

And Charlie Sheen’s accused of being a bad dad!

Thankfully Nelly cleaned up his act, after his music career began to take off — pleasing his own mom, Rhonda, in the process.

She tells the VH1 show, “When he told me that he’s not gonna sling anymore, that was the greatest gift he’s ever given me. So now, I don’t have to worry now about getting that phone call at two thirty in the morning telling me my child dead somewhere. Or locked up somewhere. I was at peace then. I can, I can go to sleep now.”

The caregiver says she gave the infant allergy medicine to ‘calm’ her. How can you tell if your baby is being drugged??

A nanny in Long Island, N.Y. has been arrested after drugging a 4-month-old infant to keep her “calm.”

Police say Anneliese Brucato, 48, was recorded drugging the baby on nanny cams set up throughout the house. The child’s mother, Cynthia Schafer, says she researched the nanny thoroughly before allowing her to be alone with her child.

“It was very upsetting,” she told the New York Post. “I checked all her references. There were no problems. She had no criminal history or anything.”

Cynthia became concerned when she returned home from work and her daughter seemed especially restless. After doctors said her daughter was sleeping too much during the day, she installed a nanny cam and caught Anneliese giving the infant FIVE DOSES of children’s antihistamine! The drug is not meant for children under four AT ALL, as it can cause seizure or death. Let alone five doses!

Nassau County Detective Lt. Kevin Smith alleges  Anneliese acted “in order to cause the child to become drowsy, to make her more manageable and to perhaps make her job easier.”

What are some signs parents should look for if they suspect their child is being drugged? Dr. Jennifer Shu, coauthor of Heading Home With Your Newborn: From Birth To Reality, says many signs could point to foul play. Some troubles to look for:

• not feeding well
• irritability or shakiness
• pin-point pupils
• irregular breathing or heart rate
• hyperactivity due to being asleep too long

Dr. Shu said the best advice for parents dealing with nannies and medication is to make sure everyone is on the same page.

“One thing I see a lot of is parents and nannies not communicating with each other on medicine,” she says. “That’s where you see overdoses happening. Sometimes a nanny will give a dose and then the parent will give a dose so the child will be on extra medicine.”

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are worried about their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, after photos of the 17-year-old partying and smoking were made public. The couple, who divorced in 2006 after 14 years of marriage, reunited recently to hold in intervention for the teen, according to the National Enquirer. “Whitney and Bobby sat Bobbi Kristina down and read her the riot act,” a source close to the family tells the tabloid.

“They brought in counselors and they’re trying to drum into her that because of their problems, she’s genetically predisposed to alcoholism and drug addiction.”

Both of her talented parents have indeed become more famous for their substance abuse problems than their singing ability in the past decade. Bobby has spent time in rehab for cocaine, marijuana and alcohol, while Whitney, 47, once declared “crack is whack” before it was revealed that she actually had a $300,000-a-year drug habit. She’s been to rehab twice.

Bobbie Kristina is out of control

With those two for parents, I don’t think it’s a surprise that their daughter is dabbling in drugs. But I give Bobby, 41, and Whitney credit for trying to keep her on the right track and stop her from making the same mistakes that they did. “They’ll do anything to spare Bobbi Kristina from the substance abuse hell they’ve both experienced,” explains the source.

When she was 14 years old, photos of Bobbi Kristina smoking a blunt emerged and she spent some time in a psychiatric hospital for allegedly attempting to stab Whitney and slit her own wrists.

And while they know first-hand just how infuriating an intervention can be, it’s a risk they’re willing to take to save their girl. “Whitney and Bobby are torn because they don’t want to alienate her daughter and overact, but they realize she’s at risk for serious addiction problems, just like them. They’re dealing with these issues as a family and they’re praying that it’s not too late to get Bobbi Kristina back on track,” adds the source.
