Ever since the heart-stopping final moments of Pretty Little Liars‘ third season finale, fans have been asking, ‘What is in the trunk?’ But after chatting with Lucy Hale, we’re thinking the more appropriate question is, ‘Who is in the trunk?’ We recently caught up with the littlest liar of them all for a clue to the biggest mystery of season four.

“I can’t tell you much,” she told HollywoodLife.com – which is always a terrific way to start out. “But I can promise that we will find out the person who was killed last season.”

Say what? ‘The person who was killed?’ Did Lucy potentially spill some very tasty beans? Regardless of whether or not Miz Hale had a slip of the tongue, it’s certainly worth considering: If there’s a body in the trunk, whose could it be?

Who Was Killed On ‘Pretty Little Liars’?

As a fan of all things beautiful, it pains me to say this, but I think Jason (Drew Van Acker) is the one most likely to turn up dead when the contents of the trunk are revealed June 11. And my reasoning is three-fold:

1. We know, or at least it’s fair to assume, that “A” kidnapped Jason from his hospital bed.

2. Jason was a member of the N.A.T. Club, along with Ian (Ryan Merriman) and Garrett (Yani Gellman) — and you know how well things turned out for those two.

3. In real life, Drew’s got a new gig on Lifetime’s Devious Maids which might keep him busy, schedule permitting.

Like I said, I don’t want Jason to be dead — but I’d be willing to bet my “A” on it.

Like all great episodes of Pretty Little Liars, the Jan. 8 winter premiere answered some of our lingering questions from the Halloween special, while leaving us with a million new ones to contemplate throughout the rest of the season. Fortunately, HollywoodLife.com was able to catch up with Executive Producer Oliver Goldstick for the scoop on what’s to come in season 3B, including Jason’s (Drew Van Acker) involvement with Mona (Janel Parrish)!

Read on for my Q&A with Oliver:

1. Thank you for beefing up Jason’s storyline. I guess you can’t confirm whether or not he’s the one Aria stabbed?

“I can say we brought Jason back to explore whether he’s looking for answers, or if he’s using Mona to cover something up. And if you’re covering something up, Mona would certainly be a valuable ally to have.”

2. Lucas told Hanna he hurt himself skateboarding — so was he the one Toby was chasing at the beginning?

“I won’t confirm whether or not Lucas was on the skateboard, but I will say Lucas is in for a lot soon. We say he’s been playing on the wrong end of the sandbox. He’s been playing with sharp objects, and he will suffer.”

3. I loved Aria and Byron’s confrontation! Is it safe to say their relationship is going to get even rockier from here on out?

“This season’s about betrayal, that’s what we’re exploring. With a parent, it’s really devastating. This will create a wedge that’s almost unbreathable. We’ve never implicated a parent as a murder suspect. It’s dark, but it’s worth exploring, and you’ll see why. Chad Lowe is totally into it; he’s so excited. When he read the episode, he was like, ‘YES!’”

4. So we will find out who the murderer is? Eventually?

“It becomes shocking. It becomes ‘How do we deal with this, when we know this is the murderer?’”

5. Ella faked sick to avoid Meredith’s first day, but will we get to see Byron’s two women come face-to-face?

“I believe in the second or third episode, there’s a great Ella/Meredith moment. Mer’s going to return with a vengeance.”

6. We didn’t see whose bike ‘A’ messed with during the closing credits. Is that person’s identity important?

“It’s important because it helps Mona move into a new position at school that will put her eye to eye with one of the PLLs — and I should say claw to claw. It elevates Mona in a new way. This was a set-up moment.”

I guess Alison isn’t the only member of the DiLaurentis family who had a complicated history with CeCe (Vanessa Ray). On the second episode of the Pretty Little Liars webseries, Pretty Dirty Secrets, CeCe shares a tense reunion with Jason (Drew Van Acker) — who she apparently dumped shortly after Ali went missing.

As Jason stormed out of the Halloween store, CeCe suggested he hit up the nearest liquore store — because she apparently likes to remind people about their drinking problems. What a sweet, thoughtful girl she is.

Oh, and can we talk about how Aeriel Miranda‘s character was just sitting at the counter, listening in on their whole conversation. She doesn’t seem shady at all.

“A Reunion” was a solid follow-up to last week’s chilling premiere webisode, but I do have one complaint: Jason’s hair looks much better when there’s wind involved. Couldn’t the Halloween store have had a fan going or something?

The Jan. 2 winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars was not a happy hour for fans of Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby’s (Keegan Allen) tragic romance — seriously, who turns down a hand-made rocking chair? — and it doesn’t sound like “Spoby” will be picking up the pieces anytime soon. “It’s really heartbreaking,” Troian tells HollywoodLife.com of the couple’s struggles this season.

“‘A’ made it very clear that if Spencer really loves Toby, she’ll keep him away,” Troian adds. “‘A”s main goal right now, with Spencer, is to destroy her love. So it’s a really awful situation.

But as she gradually moves further apart from Toby, Spencer will be getting much closer with another of Rosewood’s most eligible bachelors — Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker)!

“Jason and Spencer are very interesting characters together,” Troian admits. “They both have trust issues for their own different reasons. When they get together, they don’t trust each other, but they’re forced to for certain bigger reasons.”

And while Troian can’t say what those “bigger reasons” are right now, she does hint that we’ll be learning a lot more about how Spencer’s family factors into Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) disappearance.

We’re just seven days away from the premiere of the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, and as someone fortunate enough to have seen it (three times), I promise you it has everything a PLL fan could possibly want:

Hefty Hanna returns: The episode takes place a full year before the events of season one, so Hanna (Ashley Benson) is fully stuffed and ready to strut her plus-sized stuff through the streets of Rosewood. God, I missed that waddle.

Jenna isn’t just crazy — she’s also crazy-hot: Yes, it appears that before her sight was taken from her in that tragic fire, Rosewood’s creepiest floutist had a bit of a slutty streak. This episode really makes me hope Jenna (Tammin Sursok) gets her sight back. Her death-stares would bring the ladies of Revenge to their knees — and that’s really saying something.

New ‘A’ suspects: I promise that once this special is over, you’re going to think everyone in Rosewood is “A.” The characters in this episode caused me to raise my eyebrows so high, they’re not even on my face anymore. I look like Voldemort now. (Thanks, ABC Family.)

So many tears: Halloween may be a time for tricks, but in Rosewood, it’s also a time for drama. From Spencer (Troian Bellisario) to Aria (Lucy Hale) to Mr. Montgomery (Chad Lowe), nearly everyone sheds a tear or two at some point during the episode. Who knows, YOU might even need to keep a box of tissues handy, yourself!

Dramatic foreshadowing: If only the good people of Rosewood knew then what they know now. With lines like “Someday she’ll get what’s coming for her” and “If I told you that, I’d have to kill you” longtime fans will be rewarded for their faithful viewing all night.

Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale) and Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding) have been a picture-perfect couple ever since they first went at it like animals in the bathroom of a dive bar on the very first episode of Pretty Little Liars. But their love will be put to the test Aug. 9 when Aria has her first kiss with bad-boy Jason (Drew Van Acker.) Which guy do YOU think Aria should choose?

I know Aria and Ezra represent all that is beautiful in the world, but I’m going to have to give Jason my vote. The whole statutory rape thing aside, Aria deserves to be with a guy she can actually hold hands with in public. Ezra promised Aria they wouldn’t have to hide anymore once he left his job at Rosewood High, but other than their one kiss in the parking lot, they still seem to be dating in the shadows.

And I know what you’re going to say: “Hey, Jason’s a killer!” That has yet to be proven, and I’m inclined to think he had nothing to do with Alison’s murder. (The obvious ones never turn out to be the killers on this show.) Plus, he’s got that dreamy ’90s hair that girls can’t get enough of.

Or so I’ve been told…

The July 26 episode of Pretty Little Liars was an hour of awkward encounters, shady behavior, and oh yes — just desserts! While Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) enjoyed a little never-ending slumber party at the Marin household, some seriously effed up business was going down elsewhere.

Rosewood’s friendly neighborhood carpenter-slash-gardener Toby (Keegan Allen) did some work for Spencer’s dad this week, only to uncover an old hockey stick — which Spencer (Troian Bellisario) thinks could have been Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) murder weapon! Spencer’s shady dad also suspected it could be more than just a hockey stick, but rather than hand it over to the police, he tossed it into the fireplace. He said he’s “tired” of all the drama, but methinks he’s actually just “tired” of hiding something…

Meanwhile over at the Montgomery household, Ella (Holly Marie Combs) was busy preparing a super-awkward dinner party, complete with both Aria’s current boyfriend Ezra (Ian Harding) and future boyfriend — God willing — Jason (Drew Van Acker.) Appetizers were served. Small talk was made. Eyes were rolled.

Fortunately for Aria, the awkward little party was broken up when the police arrived at her doorstep with bad news about Mike “Sticky Fingers” Montgomery (Cody Christian.) Turns out he got caught breaking into another house, which inspired Aria to do a little digging in his bedroom. And what did she find? The hole-y jar Jenna (Tammin Sursok) made in art class! And it gets better: When Aria accused Mike of breaking into Jenna’s house, he told her found the jar in Garrett’s (Yani Gellman) apartment!

Too bad Spencer didn’t know the truth about Garrett before she decided to go for a little ride with him! The episode ended with the two of them in his cop car discussing, what else, Alison’s killer. Seriously, I didn’t trust that guy in The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and I definitely don’t trust him now.

And now for the question on everyone’s minds…

Alison’s mom roped the girls into helping out with the annual charity fashion show on the July 19 episode of Pretty Little Liars – and in true Rosewood form, it didn’t take long for the night to turn into a complete disaster.

Just when the fashion show seemed to be going off without a hitch, the giant photo of Alison on the screen went up in (digital) flames. “The bitch is back” came over the loudspeaker, while fun words like “bitch” and “monster” appeared over Alison’s hellish, burning face.

So who’s to blame for the Final Cut faux-pax? Aria (Lucy Hale) seemed like the obvious culprit, since she put the slideshow together herself, but my money’s on the no-good DJ, Noel (Brant Daugherty.) Seriously, why are the pretty ones always so damn evil?

But to be fair, the kids aren’t the only evil-doers on the show. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) kept a close watch over her dad during the entire episode, taking note of his super-suspicious behavior around Alison’s mom. She caught him yelling at her twice — both times involved him shouting about “taking care” of Jason (Drew Van Acker) — and both times, he made up a lie to ease Spencer’s troubled mind.

And speaking of troubled minds, Hanna (Ashley Benson) didn’t know what to think when her dad decided to stick around for a few extra days to spend time with her and her mom (Laura Leighton.) There was a time when she hoped they’d get back together, but now things have gotten a little more complicated.

Ezra (Ian Harding) was MIA this week, leaving Aria plenty of time to continue falling madly in love with Jason 2.0. And while she may not be ready to vocalize her feelings just yet, her flirty text messages and lingering stares say more than words ever could.
