Drew Barrymore, 38, is more focused on her baby Olive than her beauty look these days, but she did take some time for herself on April 29. She spent a whopping five hours at celebrity colorist Tracy Cunningham‘s salon in West Hollywood going blonde. What do you think of the finished product?

Drew was rocking dark brown hair for a while but debuted a light brown shade on April 20 as she hosted the GLAAD Awards. Guess she was prepping for this major color change!

She left the salon with platinum locks, big black sunglasses and a red lip.

Flower By Drew Barrymore — Her New Makeup Line

Drew launched her own cosmetics line in January, including foundation, lipstick, mascara, nail polish and more!

At the launch party in New York City, she told HollywoodLife.com: “I’ve worn makeup my whole life for film and fashion and worked with the best makeup artists in the world and I love what makeup does for you. Then I was the co-creative director at Cover Girl for six years, and when I finished my contract, it was like I had gone to college for six years and I wanted to know what I would do with my degree.”

Her secret beauty tips? “I love to wear my lipstick on my cheeks and I love to highlight the corners of my eyes,” she says.

But her best advice? “Happiness is what makes you pretty.” She must be really happy, because she is gorgeous!

Lucky, the magazine about shopping and style, announced today the 2nd annual FABB West. The two-day event, taking place April 4th and 5th, 2013 at the Beverly Hills SLS Hotel, will once again bring the top influencers in fashion, beauty, technology and entertainment together. Drew Barrymore, 37, is one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actresses, owns a production company and now the new mom can add beauty brand founder to her list of accomplishments. As a spokeswoman for CoverGirl, the actress learned a thing or two about the beauty industry and empowering women. For her LashBlast Mascara commercials, Drew’s mission was, as it is now, to help women feel good about themselves. “I grew up in a makeup chair,” she says. “And to see the women around me getting ready was so aspirational. It’s about mothers and daughters, a girl watching her mom at a vanity table. I didn’t want a cold campaign with severe messaging. I wanted warmth and acceptance and self-love.”

Drew Barrymore On Beauty & Babies

Drew wants to apply that same fresh, approachable aesthetic to her makeup line, Flower. “Nobody’s in gold rain or running through a jungle with their lipstick on,” she says. “It was just me and some great music on a white background. That’s every girl, in her closet getting ready,” she says.

Drew’s main job these days is mom to baby Olive. When she first found out she was pregnant, Barrymore put her film roles on hold and searched for ways to work that didn’t involve being in a trailer, “living someone else’s life through a character. I didn’t feel I could do a lot with fashion because I wear sweatpants that I find on the floor,” she adds. “I live for makeup and I like wine. These are my truths!”

On keeping the details of her daughter’s birth under wraps: “I definitely needed some time,” she recalls. “For a solid six weeks, I was hiding like the Unabomber.  Because I live my life in the public eye, I didn’t want that for her. But ultimately she realized that “unless I move into a bunker underground, I don’t have a choice in this matter. It was something that took me weeks to cope with.”

“I know she didn’t sign up for that,” she says about Olive’s being born into the glare of attention that comes with her mother’s 30-plus years of fame. “I had such an exposed childhood,” she says. “I appreciate my journey, but I don’t want that for my kid. Not any of it. It has nothing to do with whether I liked my childhood. I really did. But as a parent, that isn’t the childhood that I’d provide.”

Drew Barrymore had quite a year in 2012 — she married art consultant Will Kopelman in June, and gave birth to their first child on Sept. 26 — but the Charlie’s Angels actress revealed to Good Housekeeping magazine that she is more concerned about being a healthy mom than getting back in beach-ready shape!

Even though Drew showed up to fiend Kimberley Snyder‘s Glow juice bar opening in Los Angeles on Nov. 14 looking amazing less than two months after welcoming daughter Olive Kopelman, the actress and producer said losing the baby weight is still a work in progress.

“I’m still working on it, but I’m not worrying about it. We live in a society where everyone’s like, ‘Look at how amazing she looks two weeks out [from giving birth].’ I don’t want to be on that hamster wheel; that’s hell,” she said in Good Housekeeping‘s February issue.

“I’m never going to have the kind of body that makes me excited about bikini season. I’ve never had a ‘beach body.’ But I want to feel like I’m showing up and doing my best. My goal is to be nice to myself, gentle toward myself, during this process. It’s such a sacred time,” Drew added.

Drew Barrymore Reveals: Being A Mom Has Made Me A Better Person

“My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis,” she told the magazine.

“Every morning when I wake her up, the endgame is, ‘can I get her to smile?’ And that puts me in a good mood. It’s definitely a different way to live — and a much better one,” the new mom added.

Drew Barrymore had a pretty rough childhood as a child actor. So with her daughter Olive Barrymore Kopelman – her first child with husband Will Kopelman — the actress and producer, 37, wanted to do things right.

“I’m ready to be the best parent I can be,” she told People. “As life gets shorter, the stakes get higher. And this is the most important thing I will ever do.”

She gushed about her daughter to the magazine, and said that while it is the most amazing experience in her life, she is also terrified.

“You’re facing the biggest fear of ‘how do I keep someone alive?’” she told the magazine.

But the first-time parents are excited to begin their journey together — and Drew is eager to have a strong, solid family bond

“Will’s a great dad and a good husband. I really wanted a wonderful, traditional home for my kid. Will comes from a strong family, he provides a strong family, it’s amazing,” she gushed. “For people who didn’t have the strongest families or traditional families, if you can create that, you have a second chance. It just makes me so emotional because it’s like a miracle.”

The best moment of her life

Drew is incredibly accomplished in her professional life, but none of that compares to the happiness and excitement she felt when she first met her daughter on Sept. 26.

“It [was] positively the best moment of my life,” she said. “My husband took  a picture, and I have that picture now forever, and it’s the coolest moment of my life, bar none. I look at it every day.”

Sounds like Drew and Will are so excited to be parents — and we don’t blame them! Olive looks so sweet and happy, just like her mom!
