Little Dyson Kilodavis is getting a lot of attention lately and it’s all because he likes to play dress up. “I love wearing dresses and I love the colors of pink and red,” the 5-year-old said on the Today show on Monday (Jan. 3). “It makes me feel happy.” At first, his own mother, Cheryl, had difficulty coming to terms with her cross-dressing toddler, but when their neighbors started to snicker, she realized that there’s really nothing wrong with her son being unique. Dyson’s dad, Dean, doesn’t see the harm in his son wanting to wear a dress either. “It’s not contagious, he’s just like any other kid. He plays checkers, he plays in the trees. He just likes to do it in a dress. Big deal,” he said on Today.

In fact, Cheryl was so inspired by her son’s unfaltering love of pink, sparkly things that she penned a nonfiction picture book, aptly titled My Princess Boy. “Our compassion for one another and the broader world is dependent upon one another. And when we interconnect, we celebrate the unique person within us all,” says Cheryl, who hopes her book will inspire others to be more accepting.

Hollywood is being overrun with dress divas — little ones, that is!  Celeb daughters are taking cues from their moms to “dress the part” in the sweetest little gowns!

Whether it’s Jessica Alba’s daughter, Honor, or Jennifer Garner’s oldest girl, Violet, these mini models are raising the style stakes where ever they go. Who says Suri Cruise is the only petite fashionista in Hollywood? These kids know how to work their dresses so heads turn on the playground!

According to Michelle Popofsky of the clothing line Hype 4 Girls, popular dress styles for the preschool set this season range from “patterns galore” (such as stripes, polka dots, floral) to “girlie details.”  Michelle says, “Sequins are still really big. We are using them on top of cute prints. Dresses this season have a lot of girlie details like bows, rosettes and cupcake tiers.” You can be sure that these trends will be seen on Hollywood’s best-dressed kids!

Is it just us, or do singers seem friendlier towards one another than actresses?

Say cheese, ladies! Katy Perry, 25, Taylor Swift, 20, Rihanna, 21, and Fergie, 34, squeezed together for a photo last night at Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammys bash in Hollywood. Looking at the photo, we can’t help but think about how much nicer singers seem to be towards one another than actresses. Unless they’re working on a movie together, you’d be hard pressed to find four very different A-listers posing cutesy with one another like these ladies are doing. No feuds here!

Jan. 29 was a big night for Hollywood A-listers, with lots of pre-Grammy events to attend and red carpets to shine on. Sheryl Crow, Nicole Kidman and a post-baby Camila Alves all looked stunning in black dresses at the MusiCares tribute to Neil Young at the Los Angeles Convention Center. And no doubt Katy Perry turned a few heads in her own black dress (and wild feather vest) at the Friends and Family Grammy party at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
