Dita Von Teese is absolutely lovely and gorgeous in person. I had the opportunity to sit down with her to discuss her beautiful Von Follies lingerie collection for HSN and her signature Dita Von Teese and Rouge fragrances, and she explained her inspiration.

Dita’s Lingerie Inspired By Glamourous Hollywood Stars of the 30s & 40s

The 40-year-old dancer and designer exudes sensuality! Dita explained that she chose her exotic profession after  studying ballet for many years. A stint working in a lingerie store inspired her love for sexy, vintage under garments. She realized that she could combine her passion for lingerie and performing, by reviving the lost art of classic Burlesque striptease. I thought ”why not turn this into an old Hollywood burlesque” show.

Dita, known as the modern Queen of Burlesque, has been performing her stunning Strip Strip Hooray show around the glob, most recently in NYC.. But when she’s not on stage, she inspires shoe designer Christian Louboutin, as his muse. She also designs lingerie and is a global ambassador for Cointreau.

Dita Talks About Love

Dita, who married former husband singer  Marilyn Manson in 2005, revealed  that having many love affairs and not just one long term relationship, is ideal for her, at least for now.

“I think about my old idols of Hollywood,” she explained. “Like glamorous exciting women, that had exciting lives, Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, or Marilyn Monroe. All these women who had big careers and big personalities, adventurous lives. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up a relationship, but don’t beat yourself up about it, ” she advises. Maybe instead of having one big love affair, it’s nice instead to have several small ones.”

Fashionistas and fabulous Angelenos came out last night to support Dita Von Teese during her collection launch at DECADES. Guests sipped on FIJI Water and Contreau cocktails as they mingled with the beautiful burlesque vixen.

The five-piece collection features four dresses and one trench coat inspired by the burlesque queen’s enthusiasm for all things retro.

Dita Von Teese kicked off The Cointreau Poolside Soiree (and subsequent 7 week series, July 13-August 25th) with a never before seen special sultry performance created specifically for the event on July 11, incorporating sultry moves, elaborate props and a custom-made costume created by British fashion designer, Jenny Packham.

Dita’s performance paid homage to Margarita Sames, the bon vivant Dallas socialite known for her lavish entertaining, while also taking inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Synchronized swimming sensations, the Aqualillies, also performed a captivating swim routine in and around the pool, costumed in 1950s-styled swimsuits.

To kick off the launch Cointreau’s summer bar cart cocktail program at the Beverly Hills Hotel, mixologists were on-hand to craft signature Cointreau drinks like the Original Margarita, Sunset Margarita, Cointreau Cobbler and Cointreau, Lime & Soda in a fashion reminiscent of the classic style of cocktail making.

Dita Von Teese launched a line of press-on nails this month that will get you her signature 1940′s half moon manicure in seconds.

Nail brand, Kiss, teamed up with Dita to create a press-on version of her famous ruby red nails complete with a shimmering pearly moon. The Dita Von Teese Nail Set will include medium length nails reflecting the elegance of the old Hollywood style, and will come with 24 nails in 12 sizes.

Dita Von Teese tells Women’s Wear Daily that she created the fragrance because her favorite scent was becoming a little too familiar. “My signature fragrance that I’ve been wearing since I was 14 is Quelques Fleurs, and I had to stop wearing it because my boyfriend’s mother wore it.” That would be enough to make me switch!

Dita promises that her perfume is going to stand out from the celeb fragrance crowd.

“There’s no fruity vanilla bull—t. I’m sorry, but you know what I mean? A lot of celebrity fragrances are fruit, vanilla, and I wanted something for grown-up girls,” she tells WWD.

Ali Larter shows off her amazing pregnancy style in a chic tuxedo jacket dress and black platform heels!

Wow! Ali Larter was absolutely glowing at the amfAR Inspiration Gala at the Chateau Marmont in LA on Oct. 27. The event, hosted by Kylie Minogue, had a “black tie or leather” dress code and brought out stars including Sharon Stone, Dita Von Teese, Adrian Brody and Natasha Bedingfield. The stunning Heroes star embraced the menswear theme, wearing a sexy black tuxedo jacket dress — that buttoned right over her bump. The mom-to-be, 34, is expecting a baby boy this winter with her husband, Hayes MacArthur, and we have to say that her style has been flawless throughout her pregnancy!

As for rocking those killer heels, Ali admits it’s not a burden, but a choice! “You gotta do it,” she says. “I love my high heels. I’ll kick ass in four inches, pregnant, any day of the week.”

Who wore Dolce & Gabbana better?

Penelope Cruz, it looks like Dita Von Teese can’t get enough of your style — after all, this isn’t the first time she’s been spotted sporting the same exact frock (check out both starlets in an Alexander McQueen pencil dress). Penelope first wore this Dolce & Gabbana spring 2010 fringed dress sans lining with bra-like straps, pairing her look with tights and peep toes in Rome for the Nine photocall on Jan. 13. The version Dita showed off on Apr. 9 in LA was strapless and lined. She paired her dress with tall leather gloves, amping up the overall look. When wearing such an extreme runway look, I think it’s important to make bold choices, just like Dita did. The lining took this dress from looking messy to marvelous, and I loved the retro feel of the gloves.

Dita may have totally channeled Penelope, but it looks like the dress was best the second time around! What do you think?
