Discovery Channel’s new campaign for its annual chomp-fest is drawing harsh criticism. From crazy people.
With less than two months until the arrival of Discovery Channel‘s annual “Shark Week,” a seven-day celebration of all things sharp and toothy, the cable network is starting to roll out promos for the Aug. 4 premiere. Its first major commercial features the instantly lovable Snuffy the Seal, and while the video is being passed around the internet like a blunt at one of Snoop Lion‘s house parties, it’s also becoming the subject of some major — albeit misguided — controversy.
That’s the top burning question among others that I, and my son Sasha, 11, and others, were left with after watching the riveting first new episode of Discovery channel’s ‘Frozen Planet.’
If you caught the first episode of Frozen Planet, then you must have become an instant addict like Sasha and I. Have you all seen the vast frozen ice cold desert of Antarctica before? I didn’t think so!
Matt Hughes committed suicide, but his death was kept secret for months. What made Discovery channel cover up his death?
Matt Hughes, the 30-year-old meteorologist from Discovery Channel’s hit realty show Storm Chasers, attempted to commit suicide by hanging May 14. TMZ reports Hughes died 10 days later in Wichita, Kansas “due to an injury unrelated to his chasing activities.” The medical examiner has since confirmed he died from hanging. Oddly enough, Hughes’ death was only made public during a Nov. 3 episode titled “Dedication” on the Discovery Channel — but that was months after he actually passed away.

Meow. Who wouldn’t want to see the 90210 star take it all off?
Can someone please give Matt Lanter an ‘artful’ part? Pretty please with a cherry on top? We’re begging you – because that’s the only way the 90210 hottie says he’ll strip down for a role on the big screen!
“It depends on the scene,” the 26-year-old actor, who just posed wearing a wet T-shirt (sexy!), told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Discovery Channel’s Life premiere in Los Angeles Feb. 25. “First of all, it would have to be for the art of the movie, it would have to fit the character. It couldn’t just be for kicks!”
