Elton John and his husband David Furnish have expanded their family! The couple, who are parents to Zachary, 2, have welcomed another baby! David and Sir Elton also reportedly used the same surrogate who delivered their son Zachary two years ago. 

They named their new baby Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John after Elton’s 1973 hit “Daniel.” The song features the lyrics, ”Daniel my brother, you are older than me…Daniel you’re a star.”

“Elton and David named both their boys after songs. It’s a lovely touch – especially because Daniel is about two brothers,” a friend of the couple’s told the Daily Mail.

The couple, who married in 2005 after 12 years together, reportedly bought a lavish home in Beverly Hills for $7,695,000 for their growing family. They sold their swanky Los Angeles apartment.

Sir Elton & David Speak Out About New Baby

“The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement,” the pair said to UK’s Hello! magazine.

A source revealed that they were paid “mega bucks” for the first pictures of Elija, which they sold to the UK magazine, but the source adds that “every penny” will go do Elton’s charity  the Elton John Charitable Foundation.

David Furnish was all smiles as he spent the day with 17-month-old son Zachary and friends in St. Tropez. The film-maker and his partner Elton John have a vacation home nearby, and frequent the luxury French Riviera town.

The two spent the day at Club 55, and the protective father made sure to strap a life jacket on his son before the two headed out on a short boat ride.

Although Elton has mentioned that the couple is eager to have more children, it seems they already have their hands full with little Zachary!

Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka have been open about their cool relationship with fellow new dads Elton John and David Furnish. Both sets of parents welcomed their kids via surrogates late last year and have been getting together every few weeks for baby play dates! We have to say though, this one looks DIVINE!

NPH and David, as well as their twins Gideon and Harper, 9 months, joined Elton, his partner David and their son Zachary, 7 months, in St. Tropez today, August 4 — it’s just an hour and a half drive away from the Furnish-John residence in Nice.

The families were on their way out to see, most likely jumping on a lavish yacht and cruising the crystal clear waters of the South of France.

Neil has been open about his twins’ play dates with baby Zachary, hoping their get-togethers will help them as they grow older and realize they have two daddies instead of a mom and a dad.

“There will be play dates, I hope, for some time,” Neil told the ladies of The View in June. “I just worry that Elton and David’s son Zachary will look at our twins and and say: “What is this Baby Gap you’re wearing? It’s not Louis Vuitton.” Haha!

We think it’s wonderful these tiny tots get to be friends — and it looks like the new daddies have a blast at these play dates too!

The famous singer reveals he wasn’t always so sure about being a dad, but he’s happy to have finally settled down with partner David Furnish.

“I’m very pleased I changed my mind,” he tells Us Weekly. Elton, 64, welcomed Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John via a surrogate with his partner, David Furnish, 48, six months ago. And no wonder he’s head over heels — that baby is adorable!

“It’s the most wonderful thing that’s ever happened to me, after meeting David,” Elton continues.

What do superstars take on their baby’s playdates? A security detail, if you’re Elton John!

The rocker is accompanied by a team of minders whenever he travels with husband David Furnish, 48, and baby Zachary – even when they’re visiting fellow new dad Neil Patrick Harris and his twins!

Five-month-old Zachary recently hung out with NPH’s eight-month-old twins Gideon & Harper — who were also born to a surrogate mom — and Neil was stunned when pal Elton, 64, brought bodyguards along!

The 37-year-old says during an appearance on The View, “They had a playdate, which was fun! They came to our house in the valley with their security detail! There were men outside with earpieces, while we were inside changing diapers!”

That sounds a bit extreme!

How I Met Your Mother star Neil and his partner David Burtka loved hanging out with the superstar and his baby son — but they worry their lifestyle doesn’t quite match up to Elton’s.

A-Listers like Elton John and Guy Ritchie received no special treatment at the Royal Wedding — they had wait to be seated with everyone else!

According to the new Vanity Fair, celebrity guests of Prince William and Kate Middleton — including John and husband David Furnish, Posh Spice, David Beckham, and Ritchie — waited to find seats in their designated locations at Westminster Abbey, and weren’t even given the best spots in the house!

William and Kate saved the prime seating for their family and close friends and wanted a “wedding for the people.”

It’s refreshing to hear that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are so down to earth!

Due to a three-year rift between Elton and his mother, baby Zachary has yet to, and might never, be introduced to his 86-year-old grandma.

What a shame. Sir Elton John, 64, and David Furnish, 48, welcomed their baby boy Zachary, via a surrogate mother, on Christmas Day of last year, but Elton’s mom Sheila Farebrother had no idea they were even expecting!

“He has cut me off completely,” Sheila, 86, tells UK’s The Sun. “It happened three years ago this June. He has had nothing to do with me since then.” Sources explain that a comment Sheila made to Elton’s partner David, 48, is the reason for the family fall out. “I don’t want to go into what caused it,” she adds. “It is a painful subject. My son cut me out of his life for good.”

And now, little Zachary might never get to meet his grandmother. “I have no particular interest really,” Sheila admits of meeting her grandson. Wow, thats a bit harsh!

David’s parents flew from Canada to California to meet the little guy right after his December 25 birth, but Sheila was not invited. She did attend the ceremony for Elton and David’s civil partnership, which might have been the last real time they were together as a complete family.

“I have never had a conversation with him about whether he talks to his mother,” a spokesperson for Elton tells The Sun. “She is a lovely lady but she is 86 and she is frail and old.”

Don’t you think it’s a little bizarre that Sheila has yet to hold her grandson? That’s a grandmother’s favorite job! We hope, for Zachary’s sake, the family can at least try to make amends.
