It’s been almost three weeks since the July 20 shooting in Aurora, Colo, that left 12 people dead and 58 injured, by suspected shooter James Holmes. But now it looks like a similarly horrific incident was barely avoided in Ohio.

A new report claims that the manager of a movie theater near Cleveland became suspicious of a man who tried to bring a “satchel” into a screening of The Dark Knight Rises around 10pm on Aug. 4.

The manager is an off-duty cop, and he searched the bag and found guns, knives and ammunition. The man was arrested immediately.

Anne Hathaway certainly has big…paws to fill as she tackles the iconic role of Catwoman in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, currently in production — yet on-set sources tell HollywoodLife.com she is doing amazing things with the role!

The much-anticipated film won’t hit theaters until July 20, 2012, yet Anne’s performance is already generating buzz! And sources confirm she is channeling her inner kitty perfectly, telling us, “Everything from the looks in her eyes, her head movements, her body–everything is so feline. The role is taking her to new places.”

After Februrary’s awkward Oscar co-hosting with James Franco, Anne ducked out of the spotlight and had to deal with a lot of people hating on her. However, that all could change as she fights (literally) to win back her fans.

The source even told us Anne has managed to surprise everyone, saying, “it’s really unbelievable how realistic she is in this role, I never expected it.”

She reportedly is in the best shape of her life — and judging from photos, we believe it! Can you wait to see Anne as Catwoman?

As expected, Marion and Joseph are joining the film franchise and will both be playing newly introduced characters!

The cast of The Dark Knight Rises is finally coming together with the news that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be joining the cast in roles that are new to the popular comic. According to our sister site Deadline, Marion will be playing Miranda Tate, a “Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne” while Joseph will be playing John Blake, “a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon.”

This will reunite Marion and Joseph with director Christopher Nolan, who they both worked with on the film Inception.

Filming may be a bit tricky for Marion who is currently expecting her first child this June, especially as filming is expected to begin right around that time in London.

Riddle us this: Which character went mad after being gassed at the end of ‘Batman Begins’ … but didn’t die?

Tom Wilkinson has — we think, at least — an incredible bit of casting advice for Christopher Nolan as he prepares to shoot The Dark Knight Rises. And it involves the biggest human question mark of all: The Riddler.

“I thought I’d be a great guy [to play the Riddler],” the twice-Oscar-nominated Wilkinson told us April 11 at the New York premiere of The Conspirator, hosted by Piaget and the Wall Street Journal. “My character was sent mad, but you never saw him die. I thought it would be great if my kind of crazy and had been sent [away], but somehow recovered — but nevertheless was totally insane.”

For those of you who don’t remember 2005′s Batman Begins, Tom’s character Carmine Falcone got gassed by the evil Dr. Jonathan Crane, and ends up a quivering, insane mess of a human being.

It’s so brilliant we can barely get our heads around it, Mr. Wilkinson. And anyone who saw him play a lawyer gone mad in Michael Clayton knows he knows his crazy. So far, however, there hasn’t been any indication that the Riddler will actually be a character in the third Batman installment.

Besides the usual gang (Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine), director Nolan has cast Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Inception‘s Tom Hardy as villain Bane.

Did Anne’s less-than-stellar Oscar performance humiliate her in front of her Batman costar, Christian Bale, and director, Christopher Nolan? Sources tell HollywoodLife.com how Anne felt post-Oscars!

In her most anticipated role to date, Anne Hathaway is set to slip on the Catwoman suit in Dark Knight Rises. But now, she may have gotten off on the wrong foot with costar Christian Bale, who won his own Academy Award on Sunday, and director Christopher Nolan after they saw her Oscar debacle live from their seats in the Kodak Theater. Sources tell us what Anne thought of her performance, her frustrations with James Franco.

A source close to Anne tell us that “it didn’t even cross her mind” that Christian and Christopher were in the audience as she was focused on entertaining the entire crowd and the millions watching at home with her cohost, James Franco.

Even after James and Anne were panned by critics and reports surfaced of the pair’s hatred for each other, an insider claims that Anne doesn’t hold too much resentment towards James.

“They both have egos, but to say they hate each other might be a bit of a stretch,” a source close to the actress tells us. ”Anne is aware that not everything may have worked out.”

So is she not even a little mad at James? “She is frustrated that she tried and he brought her effort down and ruined what could have been a success,” confesses our insider.

While we expect that the pair will not be making a return as award show hosts, Anne is still a Hollywood starlet and has a big chance to prove herself with the Dark Night Rises.

Christopher feels that Anne’s Oscar performance has nothing to do with her ability to play Catwoman. ”Christopher picks people that he feels is right for the part, and Anne is right for the part,” a source explains. “There is in no way that her performance at the Oscars changed that.”
