Browse our brand-new gallery of beautiful Ian photos. We would have given him 33 candles, but this is a website — not a cake.
Damon Salvatore may be in the triple digits, but Ian Somerhalder is only 33 — and wouldn’t you know it, today is his birthday! Whether he’s making us swoon on The Vampire Diaries or saving the world through the efforts of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, there’s no denying that he’s a man worth celebrating.
Well, this is just about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. (Side question: Do babies know how to smolder?)
A couple in Busigny, France, is due in court Dec. 15 to defend naming their son Daemon after, you guessed it, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) from The Vampire Diaries. The spelling of the name — the couple added the “e” in to make it French — has apparently raised the eyebrows of French authorities who, according to the UK’s Daily Mail, believe it has “diabolical origins.”
Why do YOU think Damon stripped down on set? Could there be a ‘Delena’ love scene on the way?
Fact: Going back to work the Monday after Thanksgiving sucks for everybody — even when you work on The Vampire Diaries set. “Of course 1st day back from a stuffing-your-face holiday, Damon Salvatore is naked,” Ian Somerhalder tweeted Nov. 28. “WTF?!”
But that long-awaited ‘Delena’ scene was just one of the things that made this week’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ the best episode of the season.
When Michael Trevino tweeted that the Oct. 13 episode of The Vampire Diaries was going to be a “game-changer,” he wasn’t exaggerating — least of all for his own character, Tyler, who I’m pretty sure is now a hybrid. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) turned Mystic Falls High upside down this week in an intense hour that found Stefan (Paul Wesley) fighting compulsion, Matt (Zach Roerig) seeing ghosts, and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) opening up about his feelings for Elena (Nina Dobrev) — yet again.
It’s time for a little game of ‘What’s in the trunk?’ Watch this clip from Thursday’s ‘Vampire Diaries’ and start playing!
Katherine (Nina Dobrev) has a little surprise in her trunk for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) on the Oct. 13 episode of The Vampire Diaries, and while I’d like to think it’s just a spare tire, I have a feeling it’s something a little more brooding. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), perhaps?
Elena came closer than ever to ‘switching Salvatores’ this week! Don’t you think it’s time for her to just give it up?
Aside from the hot-and-heavy pairing of Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola), every other couple in Mystic Falls was put to the test on the Oct. 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries. Elena (Nina Dobrev) continued flirting with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), while Stefan (Paul Wesley) swapped spit with Rebecca (Claire Holt), and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) had to choose between Anna the Friendly Ghost (Malese Jow) or Bonnie the Teenage Witch (Kat Graham.) Let’s talk about each of their poor life choices, shall we?
Is Ian dressed in his Bill Cosby best for some sort of ugly sweater party? If he is, I’m so there. I’m not sure which decade inspired Ian Somerhalder‘s wardrobe for his new Flaunt photo shoot — it’s like a ’60s/’70s sandwich — but I also don’t really care. I love it, regardless. The Vampire Diaries…
Big things are going down with the Salvatore brothers this Thursday. Real big things.
Now that she’s basically a single girl, Elena (Nina Dobrev) should be able to relish her alone time with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), but once again he has to go all self-destruct-y on himself. The Oct. 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries finds Damon revisiting his own inner Ripper, and while I’m not one to turn down a Damon smolder-fest, it looks like he could really use a napkin.
While ‘Stelena’ fans watched their favorite couple crumble, ‘Klefan’ shippers watched a new vampire bromance blossom!
The Sept. 29 episode of The Vampire Diaries was yet another roller coaster of many kinds — time periods, hairstyles, and of course, teen vampire emotions. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) finally caught up with Stefan (Paul Wesley) in Chicago, but their reunion was tainted with an epic breakup, the likes of which The CW has never seen.
Plus, Executive Producer Julie Plec says we’re approaching the all-important question: What’s really going on with Damon & Elena?
Here’s my friendly warning to all you “Stelena” fans: You might want to take tomorrow off from work — or school, whatever — because tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries is going to leave you drained. In so many ways. HollywoodLife.com attended a special screening of the Sept. 29 episode, “The End of the Affair,” after which co-creator Julie Plec revealed that tonight’s hour is really “just the beginning” of some major bumps in the road for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev.)
Could this be the final nail in Stelena’s coffin? Watch & vote!
Just when Elena (Nina Dobrev) thought she knew all there was to know about Stefan (Paul Wesley), along comes Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to reveal yet another unsettling secret about his little brother. In this brand-new clip from the Sept. 29 episode of The Vampire Diaries, Damon takes Elena on a little tour of his and Stefan’s old stomping grounds in Chicago — where she meets a few of Stefan’s skeletons.
Elena tells Damon she doesn’t want to see him get hurt! So which brother is she really giving up on?
While last week’s season premiere of The Vampire Diaries was basically an hour-long love letter to fans of Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) rocky romance, the Sept. 22 episode was definitely more of a treat for those fans pining for her connection with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). She may gave “given up” on Damon this week, but we all know that was really just a lead-in for their intense final bedroom scene.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ season premiere went straight for the jugular. Did it successfully convert you over to Team Stefan?
Considering Stefan (Paul Wesley) is now in full-on Ripper mode, I was sure the third season of The Vampire Diaries would be all about Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) giving into their sweet, nasty passions. But man, was I wrong! The Sept. 15 season premiere was loaded with enough Stefan-Elena moments to convert my Delena-shipping heart. Well… almost.
Do you think ‘Ripper’ Stefan will ever return to his former, bunny-eating glory? Or should Elena just cut her losses and stick with Damon?
The Vampire Diaries fans’ long, smolder-less summer has finally come to an end — but something tells me Stefan (Paul Wesley) isn’t quite as excited about the big return as we are. In this new preview video from tonight’s season premiere, Stefan is still on the loose with his new bloody buddy Klaus (Joseph Morgan) — and his soapy, naked brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) isn’t exactly busting his butt to find him.
And no, it’s not just because Tyler is literally an animal. Are you excited for him & Caroline to start making little hybrid babies?
The photos of Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola) from The Vampire Diaries‘ upcoming third season caused some fans to question the couple’s future, but Executive Producer Julie Plec is here to put all of our minds at ease. She tells TVLine: “Caroline and Tyler aren’t going to be able to avoid the fireworks that very clearly have been simmering between them all summer long.”
