Ian Somerhalder may have flown solo at the People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 9, but he and Nina Dobrev were reunited Jan. 10 for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards — and what a pair they made. All eyes were on The Vampire Diaries stars as they made the rounds at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar.

HollywoodLife.com Fashion Director Katrina Mitzeliotis couldn’t stop gushing over Nina’s vibrant turquoise Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress — seriously, I had to sedate her — making particular note of the intricate, sparkling gems.

Ian also looked pretty dashing — and doesn’t he always? — in a dark gray suit, accented with a red pocket square.

Nina also presented during the ceremony, alongside Man of Steel star Henry Cavill. They handed out the awards for Best Acting Ensemble to the Silver Linings Playbook cast and Best Young Actor/Actress to Quvenzhane Wallis.

What’s Next For Ian & Nina On ‘The Vampire Diaries?’

Of course, when Nina and Ian aren’t lighting up red carpets, they’re kicking butt in Mystic Falls; and it sounds like there’s some crazy stuff coming up for their star-crossed characters in 2013.

The fireworks begin as soon as the show returns with new episodes Jan. 17, as Elena drops a “bombshell piece of information” that could affect her relationship with Damon. Their attention shifts to Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) on the Jan. 24 episode, as Damon becomes his official coach and Elena conjures up a “dangerous” plan to save her brother from his hunter ways.

Jennifer Lawrence, 22, was red hot in a bright fuchsia shade, while Emily Blunt, 29, went for a smoldering cherry red. Both lip looks were equally dramatic and created by Giorgio Armani Beauty makeup artists. Shades of bold red instantly brighten your eyes and dress up your entire look.

How to get the perfect red lip 

Jennifer’s makeup look was all about “lips and lashes,” according to makeup artist Jillian Dempsey. Jillian chose a bold lip color and accentuated Jennifer’s eyes with voluminous mascara.  She layered a grey taupe shadow on the upper lid and contoured the crease line with a deeper shade. Jillian then used a black cream liner to define the upper lash line and an espresso pencil liner to delineate the lower lashes.

Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist created the unique twisted updo for Amanda Seyfried, 27. The style was inspired by her dress. “The blue lace that trickled up to her neckline inspired me to put her hair up in a fun updo,” says Jenny.

How to recreate Amanda Seyfried’s twisted Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Updo 

1. For ultimate shine, start with new Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo and Conditioner to gently cleanse and condition hair while smoothing the cuticle to make hair super shiny.

2. Apply Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray to roots and layer a drop of new Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil to hands, emulsify and run thorough mid shaft to ends. Blow dry with a paddle brush.

3. Take a 1-1/2 inch wide section from the hair line and pull straight back to the top of the crown. Make a ponytail and tie with an elastic closest to your hair color. This will create a strong base for the look.

4. Pull front sides up to a high half up ponytail (do not secure yet). Starting with one side, pull up and across the center  of the base point and make another pony, secure with elastic. Do the same on the other side. You’ll have three little ponytails on top of the crown area.

5. Gather all the loose ponytails into one and mist Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray all over hair. Twist and form a shape, pinning as you go to secure hair in place.

6. Pull the remaining hair in the back and make a ponytail right below your twisted knot, securing with an elastic. Mist hair spray all over and do the same as before, twisting and pinning as you go.

7. Finish with a light mist of hairspray over entire look to set.

The Twilight Saga won Fan Favorite Franchise at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, which aired Jan. 10 on The CW. It’s certainly well deserved!

Twilight won in the first-ever fan-voted category, making the award that much more special to the cast. Unfortunately, none of the cast showed for the event.

The nominees in the category included: Batman, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, James Bond/007, Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man, Star Trek, Star Wars, Toy Story and Twilight.

Celebrities walking the red carpet at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Jan. 14 got a big surprise in the form of the evening’s super special entertainment reporter — Justin Bieber! The Biebs took a break from his crazy schedule of touring and filming to chat up celebs including Elle Fanning, Jeremy Renner, Tim Roth before the headed in to the awards show. The way Justin’s career is going, we wouldn’t be surprised to see him show up as a film nominee in the next few years.
