On the heels of last night’s dramatic ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ season finale, Marysol Patton talks to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY on who she thinks hams it up in front of the cameras and how she avoids all the drama!

Marysol Patton announced her divorce in the season finale in of RHOM on Dec. 20, but even though her personal life isn’t in the best shape at the moment, her career definitely is! Marysol told us exclusively about the love advice Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger gave her recently and spilled on the advice she would give to other working women! Plus, which other housewives is she BFFs with?

How are your current relationships with the ladies on the show?

Ana, Alexia, Adriana –I’m pretty close with them. I try to keep my distance from Lea. It’s uncomfortable.

Do you feel self-conscious in front of the cameras?

You know, in the beginning, I was very self conscious the first time around, very, very nervous. After a while, if you are around people you know well — it’s harder when you’re with people you don’t know well — but it gets easier as you get to know the girls and as time goes by and you clique, it’s more natural. I don’t notice them anymore, no, and a cocktail always helps!

Do people act differently when the cameras are around?

Oh, God yes! I just am myself. You know, sometimes I see people amp it up a little bit when they see the cameras. I get the hee bee gee bees. That’s when I fade into the background. I watch in awe! I’m like, no, oh God!

Are you a fan of the other Housewives?

I love Atlanta! That’s one of my favorites! I’ve met NeNe [Leakes] several times. When she comes to Miami, we hang out. Ive met Melissa [Gorga] from New Jersey, we’ve gone out a few times with her husband Joe. I know LuAnn [de Lesseps], we’ve gone out. I’ve hung out in L.A. with Alexis Bellino and Vicki Gunvalson from O.C. I’m pretty chummy with Patti Stanger – I know she isn’t a housewife!

Does Patti give you relationship advice?

She always tells me to look up. She’s very psychic and she’s very intuitive as well. She has a gift. She’s very psychic. One day I sat on the phone for her for two hours straight and she started telling me all these things about me and what I needed to do. She started telling me I need to look up more and I realized I need to get my eyes off my Blackberry and my iPhone. The world is passing me by and all I’m looking at is messages, messages and messages. Who knows what handsome gentleman is walking by me? Maybe he looked at me and I didn’t even realize it because I was looking down. And I realized what she meant by “you need to look up more.”

You own a fashion PR firm — who are some of your favorite stylish celebrities?

I love how Charlize Theron dresses. Victoria Beckham. Penelope Cruz is pretty fabulous too. She always has a great red carpet moment. Victoria Beckham always looks great.

What’s next for you?

Right now, I’m focusing on my company and the coffee business. It’s a big undertaking. My mother doesn’t really work so I have to run both businesses. Right now, I want to conquer the PR world and the coffee world!

What’s your advice for women looking to have successful careers?

You know what? You just have to believe in whatever it is you’re doing. If you love it and believe in it, you’re going to be great at it. If you have passion for something, that passion is infectious to people around you. That’s how it is in PR. I won’t take on a client unless I think it’s fabulous and I think everyone else will think it’s fabulous! Or I will never be able to sell it to anybody. You have to be that way in whatever business you’re doing. Plus, you can’t say no. Because someone will say no and ten no’s later, you’ll get a yes. You have to just keep going and pushing and pushing. It’s all about hard work. Things just don’t fall out of the sky. I think people get discouraged quickly and give up. You can’t.

Halloween is the perfect time to let your hair down and have a little fun. Pick a costume that is sexy yet leaves something to the imagination. Think Grecian Goddess rather than naughty cheerleader! Make sure your costume fits properly and is constructed well enough to withstand a night of partying. TRICK OR TREAT?

Is it ever ok to chew gum in public? – Emma C. in Austin, TX

I think it’s OK to chew gum in public if you can chew it discretely. When you are finished with your gum, throw it away wrapped in a tissue or other wrapper so you don’t end up ruining someone’s new Jimmy Choos. Consider using a mint to freshen your breath instead. TIC TACS!

What’s the best way to be there for a friend after someone close to them dies? – Vicky H. in New York, NY

The best way to help your friend after someone close dies is to let her know that you are available to help with anything she needs. You can offer to run errands and you can bring her meals that you know she’ll enjoy. Just being there for your friend will bring her comfort. CASSEROLES!

Why go into a new situation with a negative mindset? You bought the apartment, so find ways to make it work. You can put a small couch or a chair and ottoman in the bedroom so that you or your boyfriend can read or watch television while the other uses the living room for another activity. If you each carve out a bit of personal space in the apartment, you’ll be more comfortable in close quarters. STAY POSITIVE!

I am married with children and have completely forgotten about my desires. How can I revamp my passions and find myself again? — Amy W. Johns Creek, GA

One of the best ways to revamp your passions is to exercise regularly and pamper yourself so that you have the energy for romance and hobbies. Ask your husband to entertain the kids for a few hours a week so that you can have “me time” and in return promise him some “alone time” together. RELAX!

The key to dressing warm in the fall and the winter is to wear layers so that you can add or remove pieces depending on the temperature inside and out. I like simple cashmere cardigans and boots to keep the chill at bay. Look for outerwear that is both stylish and warm. Wrap your neck in a knit or silk scarf and don’t forget to wear a hat and gloves so that your head and hands stay warm and dry. TOASTY!

I think it’s a great idea that you and your husband are going to workout together! Walking or jogging is always a fun option and if you both enjoy dancing, why not take a ballroom or zumba class? Set goals and then when you achieve them, celebrate. CHEERS!

I just graduated and am starting to work and support myself. However, I still need some financial assistance from my parents and I know they want to cut me off. How can I save and/or be more responsible with money? — Hillary S. Princeton, NJ

The best way to save money for a rainy day is to set up a direct deposit from your pay to your savings account and live off what is left. To be more responsible with money, make a budget where you list all of your monthly expenses, rent, utilities, etc. and then subtract these expenses from your pay. Pay your bills right after you get paid so that you don’t get into a situation where you’ve overspent and need to ask your parents to bail you out. BE THRIFTY!

I am meeting my boyfriend parents for the first time after 2 years of dating. We have been discussing future plans and want to make the best impression. The catch is I am Christian and they are Orthodox Jews — what should I do if they bring up the religion question? — Elle D. New York, NY

Before meeting with your boyfriend’s parents, discuss the religion issue and how it will impact you both if you get married. If you decide to convert to Judaism, you can let his parents know but I would avoid the topic completely unless his parents bring it up. PRAY!

During fall season, I usually end up packing on five to 10 pounds because of all the festivities. I have the toughest time resisting a Pumpkin Latte before work and those yummy caramel apples! How can I stay healthy? — Lisa O. Cumming, GA

I love the fall food too but it’s heavier and more fattening than summer cuisine. If you have the pumpkin latte, skip the caramel apples. Take advantage of the cool fall weather to get outside and exercise. You can go hiking on the weekends and if you have the option of taking the stairs or the elevator, take the stairs. WORK OUT!

The best way to transition your wardrobe from summer to fall is by layering. Keep in mind when you shop for summer that you can wear a summer dress into the fall with a cardigan and a pair of boots. A light trench coat is also terrific for the fall because the weather is so unpredictable. LAYERS!

Do you have any tips for walking in super high heels (or wearing heels all day)? –Lily R. from Kansas City, MS.

The key to wearing super high heels or wearing heels all day is to buy quality shoes that fit you well. If you are going to walk any distance, take off your heels and put on stylish ballet flats. I couldn’t live without my CitySlips. Make sure you put your heels back on about ten minutes before going back to your office so your feet can readjust. If you work at a desk, take off your shoes and wiggle your toes. WORK IT!

The best way to heal after a breakup is to take enough time to understand what went wrong and what you are looking for in your next relationship. While it’s tempting to jump right into another relationship, if you don’t take time to reflect, you risk making the same mistakes again. If I get a blemish before an event, I wash my face with cleanser that contains salicylic acidand then pat dry with a clean towel. After this, I apply a medicated concealor to the pimple and then do my makeup as usual but I make my eyes more dramatic to draw attention away from my blemish. DO NOT POP!

How do you stay glamorous after a hot day in the city or the Hamptons? — Elle in Long Island, NY

On hot days, I take a cool shower in the morning and then again in the evening before I go out. I wear loose fitting clothing like caftans and sundresses that I pair with flats or sandals. To keep my face looking fresh, I use Shiseido blotting paper throughout the day and I keep my makeup to a minimum. AIR CONDITIONING!

I love necklaces made from natural materials like turquoise and semi-precious stones. My necklaces can transform a simple outfit and reflect my love nature and design. When I wear a statement necklace, I keep my other jewelry to a minimum. It’s either the big necklace or the big earrings, not both! GORGEOUS!
