Corey is blowing the lid on what he claims is a Hollywood epidemic — should we be concerned?

Corey Feldman was the ultimate child star. Corey, 40, most famous for starring in the 1987 teen cult flick The Lost Boys, tells ABC’s Nightline that pedophiles were like “vultures” when he was growing up in the entertainment industry.

“The number one problem in Hollywood was, is and always will be pedophilia,” he said. “It’s all done under the radar… But it’s the big secret.”

That’s a heavy accusation … and it definitely scares us for our favorite child stars on Disney, Nickelodeon, in films, and the music industry. Corey was best friends with the late actor and fellow child star Corey Haim, and he claims Corey’s depression stemmed partly from being molested as a child by people in the “industry.”

“There was a circle of older men that surrounded themselves around this group of kids,” he says. “They all had either their own power, or connections to great power in the entertainment industry.”

This is incredibly disheartening and we’re hoping it’s not as rampant now as it was when Corey was coming along.

“There’s a lot of good people in this industry, but there’s also a lot of really, really sick, corrupt people in this industry,” Corey says. “There are people… who have gotten away with [pedophilia] for so long that they feel that they’re above the law. And that’s gotta change. That’s gotta stop.”

In a heart-clutching open letter to his dear friend Corey Haim, Corey Feldman tells him, “Nobody will ever need me the way you did … my heart is so broken.”

Corey Feldman is pouring out his grief about the Mar. 10 death of best friend Corey Haim in the most public way possible. In a blog entry titled “A Letter For the Grave,” Feldman wrote a long, highly emotional letter directly to Haim, explaining that he didn’t go to Haim’s funeral in Toronto “out of respect for your mother and her wishes to minimize the media attention as much as possible.”

Feldman also laments that he couldn’t save the oft-troubled Haim: “My mission in life became saving yours. I never gave up, I tried … I walked away, but I always came back, to let you know I was there. In a dark and lonely world with spiteful angry people we always understood each other’s pain.”

He adds, “It is such a shame they all had to wait until you were gone to give you the respect you were due as an actor which is what you truly were.”

Here’s the letter in full:

Dear Corey,

This is for you on the day of your funeral. First off I am so sorry I am not there with you today. By that I mean my physical body is not with your physical body. However you know that my heart is right at your side. You also know the only reason I am truly not there is out of respect for your mother and her wishes to minimize the media attention as much as possible. I want your family to have a calm peaceful day. Hopefully we will not see one shot of the funeral on the news. Just know I am at home today projecting positive energy for you  and your passing.

I miss you so much already. When I think of something funny I don’t know who to tell it to. I find myself trying to call you but then remember your not there. I think about the new movies we will soon be doing together and then suddenly realise that the dream is over. I always feared this day would come, and often rehearsed how to face it. But once confronted with the reality of it, it’s so much more painful than I could have ever imagined. Nobody will ever understand the brotherhood we shared. Nobody will ever get the inside jokes we told. Nobody will understand the magic of 22/222 . Nobody will ever know how to do the secret Corey handshake. Nobody will ever make me laugh as hard as you did. Nobody will ever make me fight as hard as you did. Nobody will ever challenge me the way you did. Nobody will ever need me the way you did.

My mission in life became saving yours. I never gave up, I tried …I walked away, but I always came back, to let you know I was there. In a dark and lonely world with spiteful angry people we always understood each others pain. I have been so hounded by the media and barraged with condolences since your death that I have not been given my own time to grief. I was still in shock while cameras were chasing me down the street looking for my feelings on the matter. When I did Larry King I could barely form sentences, but knew I had to be strong to send a message.

I never knew your death would have such a huge impact on the world. I learned something Corey, there are a lot of people out there who really love you, and appreciate the joy you have brough tho their hearts. I only wish you could see the way the world is mourning over your absence. I wish you could see how big the story is. I wish you could see your face finally filling the cover of People magazine and Entertainment Weekly! That would have meant so much to you. It is such a shame they all had to wait until you were gone to give you the respect you were due as an actor which is what you truly were. The great Canadian actor Corey Haim! I love you and I will forever keep that ring close to my heart. I will do my very best to help give you a memorial that is a celebration of your life the way you would have wanted it…..with everybody laughing and rocking out!

My heart is so broken and I know there are so many who feel the same way I do. We will remember your spirit and your fans will help me keep your legacy alive.

I pray that you are safe and warm and finally filled with peace.

Hundreds of fans and family members packed into a Toronto chapel today for Corey Haim’s memorial and burial services.

After an emotional funeral service Corey Haim was buried in his final resting place  in his hometown on Mar. 16. More than two hundred friends and family members gathered  and overflowed from the Steeles Memorial Chapel, where the private funeral service was held at 11 am. Those who could not fit into the chapel stood on the chapel lawn while inside Corey’s best friend (not Corey Feldman) an aunt and a cousin gave speeches. After a 45 minute service, a long funeral procession including seven police cars led friends and family to where Corey would be buried —the Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Afterwards, the family held a private shivah. Corey’s childhood Hollywood friend Corey Feldman did not attend the funeral out of respect for the family. He is expected to hold a public memorial in LA sometime in April.

The family is currently accepting donations for  the Corey Haim Memorial Fund created by his mother Judy Haim. There is no word, on what the money will be used for.

Here are some of the touching things Corey’s friends, family and fans had to say:

• President of Stardust Pictures producer Justin Levine: “He was really endearing, he was just a nice guy. He was very honest about his life. He would tell me everything about his life, the pills, his girlfriends, his roles, he literally poured out everything to me; nothing was really a secret. He was a cool guy about that. It hurt him that his fame had dropped off.”

• Angela Cullins, who starred with Corey in the upcoming film American Sunset: “It would mean the world to me to be at Corey’s funeral, but due to the need for privacy, the family has decided to make it a small affair,” she said in a statement. “I have been in touch with Corey’s mom, Judy, and she knows that my heart is with her.”

• Maytal Kotler a second cousin: “[The service was] very sad but with a lot of laughter.”

  Jennifer Matton, a fan who drove from PA to attend the service: “I think I am his No. 1 fan,” she says. “I’ve loved him since I was 13-years-old. I loved him so much that my father even called to wish me condolences when he passed away.”

• Heather Leikan, a friend of Corey’s: “He made nothing a secret but he also didn’t have anything to apologize for.”

Corey, 38 was found dead after suffering from a possible drug overdose. The LA Coroners office has yet to release the exact cause of death.

Don’t you think Corey needs to be at his best friend’s funeral to properly say goodbye?

This is so sad! Although Corey Feldman and Corey Haim were friends for over twenty years, Corey F.won’t be saying his goodbye at his pal’s funeral in Toronto, Canada March 16.

Corey, 38, released the following statement March 15:

“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me. I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair. Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes, I have decided not to attend,” he continues in the statement. ”Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial. As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community.” According to E! Online Haim’s rep says the Feldman-planned LA memorial service will happen around April 2.

Even though Corey Haim’s mother plead with the city of Toronto to pay for the funeral, the city will not be footing the bill. Instead, celebrity memorabilia site Startifacts.com will pay for most of the service.

Canadian-born Haim starred in the films Murphy’s Romance, The Lost Boys, License to Driveand Dream a Little Dream. He and his frequent co-star Corey Feldman earned the name “The Two Coreys” and even starred in an A&E ‘reality’ called The Two Coreys from 2007 to 2008.

Corey Feldman is still going to complete the movie he was meant to star in with his recently deceased best friend, Corey Haim

Despite Corey Haim‘s sudden death at the age of 38 March 10, the film he was about to shoot with best pal Corey Feldman is still going to be made, reports the Boston Globe.

“They’re proceeding,” says Henry Santoro, a local Mass. DJ who plays a band manager in the movie. “It was a huge coup that they got the two Coreys, and both of them were ready to go.”

In The Suicide Flowers, Corey Feldman, 38, plays the lead singer of a band; Corey Haim played his real life BFF’s biggest fan. Ironically, Haim’s character was deathly ill and given only a few months to live. Much like real life, the two Coreys were meant to become fast friends in the film.

Feldman and Haim had made several movies together in the past, including The Lost Boys, License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. However, although the men were practically brothers, Corey F. won’t be able to attend his pal’s funeral in Toronto March 15, as it’s open to blood family only.

Corey Feldman was widely known as Corey Haim‘s other half, and the actor spoke out about living with his drug-addicted friend on Larry King Live last night. Feldman opened in detail about what it was like to watch his friend and co-star battle drug addiction for many years, until his death on Mar. 10.

Feldman also described his friend as lonely, broke, destitute, saying Corey “had nobody to turn to.”

Calling himself Corey Haim’s “best friend,” Feldman lambasted those who were not there for Haim during his low points. “He very much felt that … he had nobody to turn to,” Feldman said. “I was one of the few people he had left in his life.”

The actor, who grew up with Haim, also said, “I appreciate the fact that everybody really cares … But at the end of the day, Larry, where were all these people the last 10 years, the last 15 years of Corey’s life? Corey was living in the Oakwood Apartments with his mom, very broke, very destitute … it’s a month to month living. And he [didn't] have anything. He didn’t even have a car.”

Feldman spoke openly about living with Haim while he battled drug addiction. “We all are aware of the fact that Corey Haim had a long and detailed drug history. And — and battled addiction for many, many years,” Feldman confessed to King. “I know it better than anybody, because I’ve been the guy stuffing charcoal down his throat when he was O.D.-ing. I’ve been the guy trying to make him, you know, stand up, or — or say a complete sentence. I’ve been there with him through it many, many times. And it — it’s happened very badly, and very intensely through the years on many occasions.”

But Feldman insists Haim had cleaned up his act over the past months, while helping his mom battle cancer. Not yet referring to his friend in the past tense, Feldman says, “Most recently he’s been honestly in the best frame of mind that he’s ever been in in the past year. I mean, I would say with his mom battling cancer, he’s really showed up. He’s really become a man. He’s been there. He’s been there for her. Taking care of her. Being responsible.”
