Conrad Murray will spend four years in prison for the death of Michael Jackson.

“Dr. Murray abandoned his patient who was trusting him. His patient was vulnerable under those circumstances,” Judge Michael Pastor said, before discussing his ruling of four years — which is the maximum Dr. Murray could have received.

The judge also denied probation to the doctor and said he must serve his term at the Los Angeles County Jail. Dr. Murray will also pay $800 in court fines. He will not have to pay restitution to the Jackson family, even though the prosecutors asked for over $100 million.

A jury found Dr. Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter after Michael died for a drug overdose in his care.

Conrad Murray has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Michael died on June 25, 2009 of an overdose of the drug propofol. Dr. Murray was the late singer’s personal physician, who administered the drugs to Michael.

Conrad will be sentenced on Nov. 29 and he faces up to four years in prison. However, because of new laws in California, his sentence could be pretty lenient.

Los Angeles attorney Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife.com, “Conrad Murray might not even spend one day in jail because of the new California law. The jails in California are over crowded and because manslaughter is considered non-violent, Conrad might end up serving his jail time in house arrest.”

Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson‘s personal physician, is on trial for involuntary manslaughter in the death of the singer in 2009.

Prosecutors began by by showing photos of the singer after his death and playing a recorded conversation between Michael and Conrad, in which The Associated Press described Michael’s voice as “slurred.”

Conrad is being accused of causing the singer’s death by injecting him with a deadly combination of the drug propofol and other sedatives.

They are nice and not Hollywood brats. Paris is very polite, a little reserved. Prince is the most outgoing. And Blanket is a sharp kid, but also pretty quiet.”

The kids are scheduled to be called as witnesses in the manslaughter trial of their dad’s cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray, starting in January.

According to a new report from TMZ, Michael Jackson’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray’s defense strategy in his upcoming manslaughter trial will be to claim that Michael killed himself — by giving himself the dose of Propofol that caused his death.

In Dr. Conrad Murray’s upcoming trial on involuntary manslaughter charges, he’ll attempt to defend himself by claiming that Michael Jackson actually took the lethal dose of hospital-grade anesthetic Propofol that caused his heart to stop on June 25, 2009.

According to TMZ’s report, Dr. Murray will claim that on the night of MJ’s death,  he stepped out of the room where he and MJ were sitting in for just two minutes. Then, “Jackson suddenly awakened and was frustrated he had spent nearly 9 hours trying in vain to sleep … Jackson took the 20 ml bottle of Propofol and self-injected the remaining contents through the IV, causing a massive overdose that stopped his heart.”

A new report claims Dr. Conrad Murray allegedly stopped administering CPR on Michael as he lay unresponsive on the night of June 25, when Jackson died — and delayed calling 911 to get rid of vials of propofol, the powerful anesthetic that caused MJ’s death.

Alberto Alvarez, Michael Jackson‘s logistics director, has told investigators that Dr. Conrad Murray, MJ’s doctor, stopped giving the dying star CPR to cover his tracks, specifically, to dispose of drug vials in the room where MJ lay unresponsive.

According to an AP report (via PopEater), Murray, who was charged Feb. 8 with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the June 25 death of Michael, was administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to Michael in his home after Jackson collapsed — while Jackson’s children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, “entered the room and cried” as they watched the terrible scene.

However, according to Alvarez’ account to investigators, Dr. Murray stopped doing CPR so he could “hand [Alvarez] drug vials” and Alvarez was told to “put them in a bag.”

TMZ had reported earlier that Alvarez told investigators he witnessed Murray hiding vials of propofol in a closet.

Jackson died of an overdose of propofol and two other sedatives, which were administered by Murray.
